Your goal for this stage is to launch and get your blog out there in the world. But you also want
to launch with a solid foundation. The Pre-launch work you put in at this stage is critical.

Overview of Main Tasks

You have a self-hosted plan


You have a mobile responsive theme
You have secured your domain name or site name on all the major social media platforms
You have these few critical pages set-up on your blog:
1. A ‘Contact Me’ page
2. An ‘About me’ or ‘Start here’ page
3. A resources page with your favorite tools.
4. Disclosure & Privacy policy
You have a value proposition for your blog
You have a clear picture of who your ideal reader is
You have defined the scope of your content - you know your content categories
You have an understanding of what you want your content and brand to be known for
You know what social media platforms you will focus on and these are aligned with your
ideal reader. Choose 2 to start with.
Sign up with an email service provider
You have written your welcome email
2. Stretch goal: You have your welcome email series prepared
You have created your first opt-in freebie
You have created your first landing page
Download and install a social sharing plugin
Have 3-5 posts written and published
3. Stretch goal: You have at least 2 content upgrades for these posts
Set up opt-in forms (Minimally at footer, header, top bar, below posts, sidebar and exit

Stage 3 Checklist: Your First 1K

End Point Milestone:

This stage is about understanding the audience you have attracted and making your first 1K
and up. You’ve grown a small sized audience and if you’ve made the effort to nurture them,
you would have gained their trust.

If you have grown your audience but still have not completed tasks from the first two stages,
do go back and complete them as each task acts as a layer of foundation.

Overview of Main Tasks

You have sent out a survey to the audience you have started to attract
You have put in place a system to segment or tag subscribers as your list starts to grow
more
You have considered the positioning of your personal brand. (As certain pieces of content
start to gain more traction than others, think about your positioning. Are you being
‘known’ for a particular type of content? Do your readers come to you asking certain types
of questions)
You have two solid revenue streams (Affiliate marketing, your first product or start offering
a service)
You have started to flesh out an editorial calendar and an email marketing calendar

You’re going to feel fear and self-doubt because you’re not sure if your offer will be any
good or if you’ll be able to monetize your blog successfully
