Erap Dialysis Center for
the Poor Program at the
Malacañang Clinic
• Launched on July 1999 at the
Malacañang palace.
• Provides free dialysis exclusively to
indigent patients with kidney
ailments.
• So far helped 500 people
• According to the Presidential
Management Staff, the selection
process and processing of
beneficiaries under the program is
being done in coordination with the
Department of Social Welfare and
Development.

• A health facility manned by trained doctor/s
and nurse/s where individuals with rabies
exposure are evaluated and managed and the
administration of PrEP to high risk individuals.

sChistosomiasis Control Program
• In 2000, the Philippines’ Department
of Health adopted mass treatment as
its schistosomiasis control strategy
with the aim of disease elimination. Schistosoma japonicum, male

• Worked in coordination with the blood drive
coordinating center of NCR which is responsible
for blood drive assistance hotline and scheduling

• Establishment of the clearing house as 24 hour
blood assistance center blood stock monitoring
system which acts mainly as inventory center for
sharing of blood resources and monitoring of
blood stock levels in different hospitals.
• Provided subsidy for blood bank supplies and
materials and other operating expenses, blood
bank equipment, repair and operation

• Coordination with the Department of Social
Welfare and Development (DWSD) brought
together representatives from the regional
and central offices of both agencies to
revisit policies and be updated on the latest
developments that are most beneficial to
covered beneficiaries under the Indigent
Program.

visible means of income, or whose income is
insufficient for family subsistence, as
identified by the Department of Social
Welfare and Development (DSWD), based
on specific criteria.

• 9.9 M Pre-schools and 1.4 M school
children were provided with Vit. A, iodine

• 3.4 M lactating women also benefited the
program
• 759, 800 preschools and school children,
a n d 8 7 , 5 0 0 p re g n a nt wo m e n w e re
provided with supplementary feeding
• 200,700 mothers were also provided with
nutrition classes under the program

• SS is a quality improvement initiative
through a certification/recognition program.
Health facilities are certified based on a set
of standards

• Sentrong Sigla Movement is a joint project of
the DOH and local government units. Its
main strategy is certification of health
