LAKEVIEW ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

D
uring the week leading up to
Thanksgiving Day, students
across the country can be
found preparing stone soup. The
activity is based on the folk tale which
has hungry strangers convincing
reluctant villagers to share their
produce in the making of a communal
pot of soup which all begins with
the boiling of a stone. On Tuesday
morning of this week, IMAGINE found
Lakeview Elementary students busily
peeling potatoes, chopping carrots
and creating costumes all in preparation
for a stone soup gathering later that
afternoon. Here are a few photos of the
children at work.
