Social media for teenagers.

Imagine that your kid’s birthday or could be they got a good grade or Christ-mass time

and you gave your kid present like a phone etc…so now your kid is spent time with their phone

and doesn't care about how many grades they have in their class because if you are like under18

age, you do not understand at that time what you do or what is going in your life you are

just a teenager. So, parents, can you limit how much time your kid spends time using social

media or what time, where they have to use their phone, etc……….

While social media can be fun, useful and even educational, it also has downsides.

Social media has many negative effects on teenagers. Teens who spend time with social media or

who sleep with a mobile that uses phones in their rooms before bed are at a greater risk for

sleep problems, such as insomnia and if you do not sleep this is a negative effect for school.

Children and teens online can be victims of cyberbullying. Cyberbully can lead to short and long

term negative social, academic, and health issues for both the bully and the target. Often teens

use entertainment media at the same time that they are doing other things talking with their

family like a family conversation or doing homework. Such multitasking can have a negative

effect on school. Parents should limit how much time their children spend using social

media because It causes losing family relationships, it can directly impact physical health,

and it impacts on academic performance.

The first reason for the negative effect of social media causes losing family
relationships. Teens are impact or not close with their family if they spend more time with

social media, and it can cause antisocial behavior and this may lead to them not wanting to

interact with their parents or share about their school or about what they do, how their life is

going. Teens becoming addicted to it can make you neglect their family and it is the first

negative behavior of teens because they are not going to care about what parents said even if it is

advice. Lose communications with their families by making them forget what is around them,

they just want to be playing online games or texting and they are not close to their family. But if

parents take away the phone from their kids, it can prove relationships.

Another example of social media has a negative effect for our eyes, it can cause eye

problems. Eye problems are eye diseases like glaucoma, etc. Blue light staring at phone screens

can cause permanent eye damage and if you use a phone at night is bad for your eyes. In

addition teens caused by drivers using social media apps, it means distracted driving, and they

get an accident. But when you used consciously and moderation, you can stay or use social
media

without the effect, by using social media at certain scheduled times, if you do not let it interfere

with your work or at night and stay off social media and any communications platform while

driving or doing anything else that’s potentially hazardous.

Another reason it impacts on academic performance. For example, if they

do not listen in class, they do not pay attention, they are just busy with their phone using social

media chatting, reading online stories and it is a negative effect on school.

Another example many students or teens studying at the same time using social media or

watching TV but doing two work at the same time or if their attention divided, they do not
understand or do not remember that information less well or not at all. Students get low grades in

school because they waste their time on social media because they are focused on how many

people like their picture and how many comments they got. But if you use social media after

your work like your school's work for first or if you do not use your phone in class if you just

pay attention to all your work or listening to your teacher, you can get negative effect for your

school or you are not going to get low grades in school.

Parents should limit how much time their children spend using social media because

It may cause more negative effects than positive effects like negative effect on the school, health,

and not close to our family. Teens are always careless but you must think about your life

means if you are a student, think about it but and you need your parent beside you and they can

give you advice and you have to listen to them. But now big trouble is using social media and it

makes argue with your family because it distract from your school, it can cause a negative effect

your health and it could improve relationships with them(your family). More parents know about

that negative effect of social media and they try to keep you from the negative effects. For

An example they try to limit how much time you spend using social media.

This point is important because many children or teens try to do what they see on social

media second they learn many bad things could be bad words, or watching bad video third it is

negative effect for school forth cause a negative effect for mental health, for example, can cause

eye problem because of the screen.

This topic is matter or important because at this time teens think about how many people

they know on social media, how many comments or like they got at their picture because they

spend more time on social media but if they use social media by schedule or if their parents limit

them how they spend time on social media, or if it’s possible if you stop using social media, they

cannot get negative effects from social media.

There are few Luddites among tween/teens: only 6% of don’t use any screen media. 28% of

tweens and 17% of teens use it for two hours or less. 27% percent of tweens and 31% of teens

use it between 4-8 hours a day, and 11% of tweens and 26% of teens are in front of a screen
more than eight hours a day.
