1. The term Management may mean the way of leading people, group of people in a
company or another institution or professional discipline and field of study. In another way of thinking,
we can define management as "the art of getting things done through people".

The three parts of Management are: economic pillar, social pillar, environmental pillar

2. We can divide managers into three levels. First level is Low or First-Line Managers,
second level is Middle Managers and the third is Top Managers (highest level).
Five characteristics of the ideal manager are:
1) Empathy: they have to understand their employees and the needs of collaborators;
2) Knowledge, especially in the economic and business sector: they should have a balance
between education and experience;
3) Natural authority: they need to use and allocate the resources efficiently, to take decisions
and to give orders in order to achieve the organizational objectives;
4) Socio-psychological awareness;
5) Good physical and mental condition with the aim of having the ability to deal with stress,
bounce back from adversity and flexibility to learn new skills and adapt to change.

3. Planning is the process through the manager is setting goals and decides which are the
best actions to achieve predeterminated tasks. The result of planning is the plan itself.

4. The strategic planning is our path for going from where we are today to our long-term
goals (future), based on extensive research, planning, and internal reflection. It relies on broad
perspective, preparing and organizing.

The tactics are short-term actions (in the moment) describing the particular steps you are going
to take along the way and indicate how specifically or tangibly we will do that. They are based on a
narrow perspective and doing activities.

The first one is performed at the top level management of the company (top management),
whereas the second is designed through middle managers.
