Trial Design
Trial Type: The Ciatin Therapy trial will be a randomized, double blind type clinical trial. This means
that neither the doctors administering the treatment, nor the subjects being analyzed, will be aware of
which supplementary treatment subjects are exposed to.
Control Population: This half of the subjects will receive a non-toxic, water based aerosol spray
inhalant which serves as a placebo. The subjects will receive this placebo treatment alongside their normal
chemotherapy treatment plans.
Trial Population: This half will be administered the nanoparticle inhalant solution which contains
Ciatin. They are given this alongside their normal chemotherapy treatment plans. This is the group that
researchers will observe for benefits or detriments as compared to their Control counterparts.
Independent Variable: The independent variable in this study is the patient’s treatment plan, or
whether or not they are on the placebo medication
Dependent Variable: The dependent variables of the study include the potential effects of the
Ciatin therapy on the Trial Population, whether positive or negative.
