FEE STRUCTURE AND OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS AND

CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION IN ACADEMIC SESSION 2018-19
M.B.B.S. COURSE
All the students aspiring to take admission in MBBS course at Subharti
Medical College, Meerut are advised to go through the following
regulations very carefully

1. Subharti Medical College has been accorded the Status of a Buddhist

Minority Institution by the National Commission for Minority
Educational Institutions, New Delhi as per the order F. No 1222 of 2018
dated 26-04-2018. Annexure No. 1.
2. By virtue of being a minority institution, Subharti Medical College is out
of the purview of Uttar Pradesh Private Professional Educational
Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee) Act 2006 and
empowered to fix its own fee structure.
3. The Principal Secretary Medical Education, U.P. through its Notification
no. 1002/71-4-18-37/2015 dated 18-06-2018 fixed tuition fee of MBBS
course of Subharti Medical College, arbitrarily without his jurisdiction.
4. The tuition fee, Rs 850,000/- per year, fixed by Fee fixation committee,
Government of Uttar Pradesh for Subharti Medical College for the
academic year 2018-19 is illegal and the College has challenged the
notification at the Hon’ble Court / appropriate Legal Forum.
5. Exercising the liberty given to the College by virtue of it being a
Buddhist Minority Institution, the College has decided to give a
preference to the students of Buddhist community on 50% seats and
fixed the fee structure & other conditions which are as follows.

i. The College fee will be Rs. 16,80,000/- per year, which will be charged
for 4½ years from general students.
ii. The College fee will be Rs. 15,12,000/- per year, which will be charged
for 4½ years from the Buddhist students subject to submission of
certificate of religion from Tehsildar/SDM or any other competent
authority.
iii. There will be enhancement of the fee @ 7% from the fee of the
previous year to cover the inflation, for the students of academic batch
2018-19.
iv. There will be Enrollment and miscellaneous charges (medical
examination, medical facility fee, insurance, sports fee, cultural fee,
contribution towards disaster management in the Country, National
Defence Fund, examination fee etc) of Rs. 1,70,000/- per year in
addition to the Course fee, to be paid to the University.
 v. An additional tuition fee and supplementary exam’s fee from
failed/detained students will be charged @ Rs. 50,000/- per subject
per examination.
vi. Refundable security deposit will be Rs. 15,00,000/- (Fifteen Lacs).
vii. Hostel is compulsory for all the students except for those whose
parents reside in Meerut or Modinagar.
viii. Hostel & Mess charges will be as follows:
(a) Rs. 2,50,000/- (Triple Seater- AC) per year for Girls.
(b) Rs. 3,00,000/- (Double Seater –AC) per year for Boys.
(c) The charges are for the first year. From second year the student
may be allotted double seater or single seater room depending
upon the availability of the room.

ix. Refundable Hostel Security – Rs. 5,00,000/-.

x. Hostel fee is subject to change any time.
6. Full Fee will be deposited at the time of admission and before the LAST DATE
declared by the Counseling Board. No Part payment of Fee is permitted and
Fee once deposited is non-refundable.
7. The students will be required to give a Registered Agreement that in case
they leave the course in between they will be required to deposit the full
course fee.
Sympathetic consideration will be given to deserving candidates on their
application for relaxation in any condition, by the Empowered Committee of the
College.
Important Notes:
The Principal Secretary, Medical Education issued a letter no. 1002/71-
4-18-37/2015 dated 18-06-2018 (Annexure No. 4) stating that:-
(i) the Director General Medical Education has informed vide his letters
dated 04-06-2018 and 13-06-2018, that Subharti Medical College,
Meerut has been declared as Minority Institution by the National
Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, New Delhi. The
Institution has requested not to get the fee of the Institution fixed by
Fee Fixation Committee.
(ii) Subharti Medical College has not submitted any proposal for fee
fixation.
In spite of the above and knowing full well that Subharti Medical College
is a Buddhist Minority Institution, the Principal Secretary, Medical Education
has issued the notification without jurisdiction, fixing the fee for Subharti
Medical College for the academic year 2018-19.
Since, a Minority Institution is not covered under “Uttar Pradesh Private
Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee)
Act in of 2006”, fee fixed by the Fee Fixation Committee made under the said Act, is
arbitrary, without jurisdiction and illegal and thus, not applicable on Subharti
Medical College. The College shall challenge the notification at the Hon’ble Court /
appropriate Legal Forum very soon.

MOST IMPORTANT
STUDENTS ARE CAUTIONED AND INFORMED THAT IF THE STUDENTS
ARE DIRECTED BY THE PRINCIPAL SECRETARY MEDICAL
EDUCATION/DIRECTOR GENERAL MEDICAL EDUCATION, UP TO DEPOSIT THE
FEE FIXED AS PER NOTIFICATION DATED 18.06.2018, AT THE NODAL
CENTRE/THE COLLEGE AND TAKE ADMISSION, THE STUDENTS WILL NOT BE
REFUSED ADMISSION BUT THEY WILL BE REQUIRED TO GIVE A REGISTERED
UNDERTAKING THAT THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD ABOUT THE FEE STRUCTURE
FIXED BY THE COLLEGE AND THEY AGREE TO FOLLOW THE DECISION OF THE
HON’BLE COURT / HON’BLE APPROPRIATE LEGAL FORUM REGARDING THE
FEE.

Charitable Trust), running the Subharti Medical College,
written to the Principal Secretary Medical Education, U.P No.
no. MTVBRCT/2018/3623 dated 12-06-2018.
Annexure No. 3- Letter of the Principal, Subharti Medical College, Meerut
written to the Director General Medical Education &
Training, U.P SMC/G/M-60/975 dated 12-06-2018.
Annexure No. 4- The Notification of the Principal Secretary Medical
Education, U.P. no. 1002/71-4-18-37/2015 dated 18-06-
2018.
Annexure No. 5- Copy of the Agreement, which will have to be registered by
the student and parent.
