Yinbiao Shu (SM’11) received his Ph.D degree of


engineering from Wuhan University in 2007. He is
currently the Chairman of State Grid Corporation of
China (SGCC) and Vice President of the Interna-
tional Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Dr. Shu has been extensively involved in technical
research and management of power grid planning,
engineering, construction and operation. During his
nearly 40 years’ engagement in SGCC, he makes
tremendous contribution to science & technology
innovation and standard development of the industry,
to ensure reliable and economic operation of ultra large AC/DC hybrid grid.
He leads the development of ultra-high voltage and smart grid technologies
and promotes the comprehensive development of renewable energy and
electrical vehicles to facilitate energy transition.
