Vision:

To become the leading eco tourism destination in the Philippines.

Objectives:

 To maintain the sanctity of the environment

 To preserve the Biological diversity

 To ensure the economic progress

 To strengthen the cultural bonding

 To protect and conserve the forests and other natural resources

Significance of the Study

Tourist- Ecotourism offers educational and recreational travel without disturbing the

natural environment. Travelers can look and admire the handicrafts made by the local

artisans. Many times travelers purchase these products from them and thus support them

economically. This also helps in conserving the local heritage of a place.

Local Community- it creates job locally, reducing the need for young people to leave

home to look for work in the cities. Community members stay involved at all stages of

the process.

Government- it can generate revenue to government through taxes and income through

the sale of souvenirs to tourist and ticket fares from tourists.

Future Generation- Ecotourism promotes the conservation of wildlife and natural

habitats. It thus ensures that natural resources managed in such a way that they are saved

for future generations.

Economic Patterns

Quezon City may be called one of the largest service economies in the

Philippines, if the indicator is the number of service-oriented establishments here. It is

known as a media center, being the site of the main broadcast station of the Philippines’

biggest networks. It is also gaining a reputation as a health and wellness hub, because of

the large number of hospitals and wellness centers in the metropolis.

Retail is a prime business activity in Quezon City. The city is a pioneer in

commercial center development, as it hosts the first integrated shopping and recreational

center in the country, and the third biggest shopping mall in the world. The city has a

consumer population of 3.04 million. With 40% of the population being less than 20

years of age, the city is a prime market for youth-oriented products and services and

marketing strategies.

Quezon City is also a favored site of information technology companies, and

hosts the headquarters of such IT giants as IBM and HP. It has the second highest

concentration of information technology parks in the Philippines. Most are business

process outsourcing companies delivering a wide range of offshore and nearshore

solutions adapted for overseas organizations, and software development companies.

Flora and Fauna

Flora

Algae are simple, aquatic, plant-like

organisms that do not have true roots,

stems and leaves. Freshwater algae are

found growing underwater on rocks and

mud in streams and rivers.

Cattails are wetland plants with a

unique flowering spike, flat blade like

leaves that reach heights from 3 to 10 feet.

They are one of the most common plants

in large marshes and on the edge of ponds.

Talahib is a coarse, erect, perennial

grass, usually more or less tufted, with

stout underground rootstock, growing to a

height of 1 to 3.5 meters. Perennial grass

native to South Asia.

The scientific name for the genus

of lotus is Nelumbo, and the plant serves

many uses. The pink lotus flower is

perhaps one of the most celebrated

flowers that there is.

The white lotus flower,

already stunningly beautiful in its

intricate symmetry, appears even

more so juxtaposed against the

surface of the dirty water upon

which it naturally grows.

Elephant ears are giant leafy

(mostly) tropical plants. Colocasias are

what we primarily call “elephant ears,”

but alocasias (upright elephant ears) slip

in there, too.

Fauna

Known as Ashy Thrush

Zoothera cinerea, the bird was

discovered by a group of

birdwatchers from the Wild Bird

Club of the Philippines around the

vicinity of the LaMesa EcoPark.

Aside from the Ashy Thrush,

other bird species like the Emerald

Dove Chacophaps Indica were found

nesting
