1. Descriptive Text

Descriptive text is the text that describes what kind of person or an object
described, goodshape, properties, number and others in particular.

 Purpose : is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.


 Structure :
 Identification : contains the identification of matter / a will be described.
 Descriptions : contains the explanation / description of the thing / person
to mention a few properties.
 Features :
 Specific participant has a certain object, is not common and unique (only one).
 The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify thenoun (noun).
 Use the present tense sentence patterns simple sentence patterns used are
simple present for telling the facts of object descriptions.

2. Report text
Report is a text which presents information about something, as it is. It is as a
result of systematic observation and analysis.
 Purpose : to describe something in general participants.
 Structure :
 General clasificaton : Stating classification of general aspect of thing;
which will be discussed in general
 Description : Describing the thing which will be discussed in detail;
part per part , customs or deed for living creature and
usage for material
 Features :
 Using Introducing group or general aspect
 Using conditional logical connection; when, so, etc
 Using simple present tense
3. Procedure Text
Procedure text is introduce something that would be made or done. Text procedure
can be how to create a procedure or using something, such as, manuals, recipes, and
work step tutorial.
 Purpose : to tell how to make something and to do something.
 Structure :
 Goal / title : presented somethng that will be made or done.
 Ingredients : exposing the material needed. In this part should not exist in
the text procedure.
 Step / methods : Lists the steps in making or doing something with the
sequence.

 Features :
 Using simple present tense.
 Using numbering or temporal conjuctions to show the order example first,
second, next, then, after that, finally.
 Using action verbs.

4. Recount Text
Recount Text is a text retells an event or activity that has occured or took
place in the past.
 Purpose : to retell the past event.
 Structure :
 Orientation : containing an introduction about experience or
event that occur, leaders involved where there
is a time experiences or events that occur or lasted.
 Events : contais a series of experiences or event that
exist in the story. This section may consist of
several events.
 Re-orientation : contains a summary or the cover story.
 Languange feature:
 Using the past tense
 Using conjunctions instance for example then, before, after.
5. Narrative Text
Narrative text contains a storyto entertain listeners or readers. This text
deals with a series of events leading to a crisis that eventually find a settlement.
 Purpose :to entertain/amuse the rider.
 Structure :
 Orientation : character recognition time and place of
the story.
 Complication : the development of a conflict or
problem.
 Resolution : conflict resolution or problem.
 Re-orientation : changes in figures or lessons to be
learned from the story.
 Languange feature:
 Using past tense
 Usually precedded by an adverb
 Use of conjunctions of time
