We would like to welcome you to the ever-growing number of people who own a Massey Ferguson tractor; people who
appreciate quality. We are proud of every tractor that leaves our factories, each being technically advanced and of a high
quality.
This Operator Instruction Book contains the specifications for your new Datatronic 3 computer. Please ensure that all ope-
rators read the instructions and follow them carefully. This will allow you to benefit from a long service life with complete
safety and peace of mind. The pages that follow contain vital information on your Datatronic 3; please read them carefully.
Your Massey Ferguson dealer will provide you with all the assistance you need.
Please leave this Operator Instruction Book in the tractor if resold. The subsequent owner will need the information it con-
tains.
All information and specifications in this Book are up to date at the time of publication. However, our ongoing policy to
improve our products obliges us to reserve the right to make alterations at any time without notice.
Please note that this Book relates to all models and refers to both standard and optional equipment. You may therefore
find details relating to equipment that is not fitted on your tractor.

1.2 - DESCRIPTION
Datatronic 3 is a measuring and setting unit providing infor-
mation that helps to make optimum use of the tractor. It is
located on the cab right-hand console (Fig. 1).
1
Datatronic 3 is switched on automatically when the ignition
is switched on. The multi-colour LED (6, Fig. 1) comes on
in green. When the ignition is switched off, Datatronic 3
stores all the information. When the ignition is being
switched off, the multi-colour LED (6, Fig. 1) comes on in
red while the parameters are being stored.
The controller's front panel is fitted with switches that pro-
vide access to the various applications displayed on the
screen.

DUAL CONTROL APPLICATION
CONTENTS
7.1 - GENERAL
The DUAL CONTROL system automatically controls the FURROW START
Y
linkage and implements in the working position and at the
end of the field.
It also enables the rear linkage position to be carried over
to the front linkage position or to the depth wheel position
of a semi-mounted plough for example.
The information required for system operation is provided
by sensors.
This information is processed by the Autotronic 5 linkage
controller, which controls an electrohydraulic spool valve, Y
and is then displayed by the Datatronic 3 computer.
Using this application, the following can be controlled: FURROW END
- a front and rear implement with the FRONT DUAL CON-
TROL (example: a front roller and a combined rear
seeder (Fig. 1), a front and rear plough etc.)
Z3A-808-08-04
- a semi-mounted rear implement with the REAR DUAL
CONTROL (e.g. a semi-mounted plough (Fig. 2), a semi- Fig. 2
mounted disc tiller etc. These implements are hitched to
the rear linkage)
- a trailed rear implement with the TRAILED IMPLEMENT
CONTROLLER (T.I.C) (e.g. a disc tiller (Fig. 3), a trailed
chisel etc. These implements are hitched to the swing-
ing drawbar or linkage arms This system enables imple-
ment height to be set according to wheel slip and the
draft applied to the linkage arms (with the linkage static).
