1. Describe what the American with Disabilities Act is and why it is important.
American with Disabilities Act is a law that states people who are disabled should have the same
rights as a person who has the opportunity to go to school, work, and do public activities. It’s really
important because it prevents discrimination and it helps them go on with life.

2. Describe what Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act is and why it is important.
Tiltle ll of the American with Disabilities Act is a law that bases off in a state or local government
service it’s important to help disabled people to receive federal financial assistance

3. List at least 5 examples of types of disabilities covered by ADA and Title II.
The five examples of types of disabilities covered by ADA would be
•Vision
•Mobility
•Cognition
•Communication
•Hearing

4. Describe what Assistive Technology is as it related to students and learning. Provide at least two
examples.
Assistive Technology is a device to help people who are disabled or really old. For example a wheel
chair, it helps you move around if you’re not able to walk on your feet. Another example would be a
hearing aid, some people were born with hearing problems and a hearing aid provides them. It helps
them hear from a distant. Some elderly people use it once their hearing fades.

5. Describe how captioning adds to accessibility to YouTube videos and why it is important.
 YouTube is a really popular website/ app to be on now days. You can look up any video on their and
watch. Captioning is really important role for the people who are deaf. It gives them the opportunity to
watch what they want while reading the captions.

6. Describe what an “alt” tag is and how it adds accessibility to web pages and Microsoft Office
documents.
An alt tag is usually used to describe an image. The main reason it’s used for it helps screen
readers visual an image.

7. Describe why blinking/flashing content in documents should be avoided for accessibility reasons.
Blinking and flashing should be avoided because it can cause some people to have a seizure. It’s really
important to avoid it if you were born with seizure problems because that may occur.

8. Provide information on at least 2 of the following:

a) Describe what the “Read&Write” Chrome web browser extension is and how it helps students
with disabilities.
Read&Write chrome web browser is software with tools designed to help people who have
hearing problems or vision problems. They have a voice reader, and you can zoom in to
words.

b) Describe what the “crxMouse” Chrome web browser extension is and how it helps students
with disabilities.
CrxMouse is a browser that allows you to create shortcuts while using the mouse. It helps
disabled people who have a hard time typing they have the opportunity to do it through the
mouse

c) Describe what “Sip-and-Puff” technology is and how it helps students with disabilities.
Sip and puff technology is a device that sends a signal when you puff or sip. It helps people
who have trouble using their hands.
d) Describe what “Ghotit” technology is and how it helps students with disabilities.
Ghotit technology is a tool that helps you with your spelling and grammar it’s a great for
people who have dyslexia. It helps them understand and visualize words and pictures.
