Teaching, since ages, has been highly praised as a profession a profession where there is
dignity and respect it is only achievable if the teacher is dedicated, knowledgeable and
passionate at the same time this occupation demands qualities like tolerance, kindness and
honesty.
A teacher who simply enters a classroom stands there for an hour, read aloud or dictate
from a book and leaves class when the school bells ring it is not really a good teacher, he/she
must be capable to sense the pulse of classroom and regulate or modify his/her technique,
method consequently maintaining a high level interest among the students regarding a subject A
teacher plays an essential task in child’s mind and character development A profession as a
teacher is not simple by stretch of imagination becoming a teacher does not need the fulfillment
of certain academic qualification but becoming effective modern 21st century teacher required
some incredible qualities such as aware of ICT, lifelong learner, innovative, collaborative and a
great motivator .

teachers of 21st century must have excellent competent qualities in order to perform their role
well.
A teacher should possess the qualifications and professional knowledge required, The
question, therefore, is What qualifications are necessary for a teacher to be effective in his work?
Today we must have competent teacher who have a new set of resources, techniques and
technology, in modern era of 21st century the researcher hereby pick this topic to explain some
major qualities of the 21st century teacher which this modern era demands.
The task of the teacher in current era is not just to impart content based conceptual
knowledge. Rather a teacher of the day has to deal with next generation who are equipped with
information communication related knowledge and skills, In teaching and dealing with such type
of generation the teacher of the day needs some special skills. So the image of the teacher has
information communication technology, lifelong learner and more importantly a motivator to his
students.
