4 Reasons why you should never bully

fellow students and classmates.

By: Andre Latour
Reason 1: Torment
To bully is to have a hostile intent to intimidate others. Bullying is
linked to many negative outcomes including impacts on mental health,
substance use, and suicide. It is important to talk to kids to determine
whether bullying—or something else—is a concern. A musician
Catherine Jenkins claims, “Children should be able to live a life free
from bullying and harassment and it is time that we all took a stand
against this.” Truly, the impacts bullying has on a child is unbelievable
according to ‘stopbullying.gov’ article.
Reason 2: At home
The second reason why you should never bully is because you
don’t know what is happening in their life at home. Jess in a Lifey
Health Article states, “It’s not worth it because you have no idea on
what is going on at their home or what there going through in their
personal life because what you know is what you see.” Jess exclaims
that people have other problems at home, which is a struggle for most
families, and can be stressful. Jess also says, “It really pushes people
over the edge. It could be anything, it could be the lack of money, it
could be looks, or even academics.”
Reason 3: Unusual Behaviors
The third reason you should not bully is because you are not only
causing the person to feel depressed but you are also making them do
stuff out of the ordinary. For example, Depression and anxiety,
increased feelings of sadness and loneliness, changes in sleep and
eating patterns, and loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy are
strange behaviors from people who have been bullied. These issues may
persist into adulthood. Health complaints are also a factor, decreased
academic achievement: GPA and standardized test scores, and school
participation. They are more likely to miss, skip, or drop out of school.
They may also be starting addictions with illegal substances or drugs
that will cause a really bad physical toll on a human.
Reason 4: Suicide
The final reason you should not bully is suicide. The likelihood of
somebody committing suicide without bullying is unlikely, while
committing suicide with bullying is much more likely. Here is a graph of
data presented by ‘www.cyberbullying.org’ Research center on suicides.

As you can tell from the graph, students who were bullied either
online or at school had a fifteen percent greater chance of committing
suicide, with a whopping 31.6 percent suicides nationwide. On the
other hand, people who experienced no form of bullying had only 4.3
percent suicides.
In conclusion, bullying should not be tolerated at all because it
shows the torment that someone goes through, their already bad
environment at home, their raise in unlikely behaviors, and the rise in
likely suicides. As a nation we should understand and comprehend the
effects bullying can do to a person, and put an end to this terrible
action, with consequence.
