Dear Collaborators in the Youth Ministry:

Peace be with you!

We are happy to inform you that the DCY will again be having the St. Pedro Calungsod Youth Leadership Award in honor of the
Second Filipino Saint who is a faithful martyr and also a youth serving God. This momentous event is our way of expressing our
gratitude to God for this grace-filled Year and recognition for the Year of the Youth of His youthful servants who have served
selflessly in His vineyard.
Listed below are the mechanics of this search:
1. The Diocesan Commission on Youth (DCY) annually confers the San Pedro Calungsod Youth Leadership Award to ten (10)
exemplary youth ministers.
2. Each Parish Commission on Youth (PCY) is entitled to send one nominee to the Vicarial Commission on Youth (VCY)
(please see the form attached herewith).
3. While each Vicarial Commission on Youth is entitled to send 3 nominees to the Diocesan Commission on Youth.
4. Nominees from the Parish will be screened and shortlisted into 3 nominees by the Vicarial Commission on Youth.
5. The Vicarial Commission on Youth, then, decides on the process of selection to screen, filter, and deliberate on whom
shall be their 3 nominees.
6. The forms (attached herewith) shall be submitted to the office of the Diocesan Commission on Youth, together with the
Endorsement Letter from the Parish Priest, VCY Coordinator, and VCY Chairman of the 3 selected nominees of the
Vicariate, on or before November 16, 2019.
7. The Diocesan Commission on Youth will form a group of panelist that will screen, filter, and deliberate on whom shall be
given the award. Each Vicariate, then, will have one awardee among their 3 nominees.
8. Nominees that will not be chosen as SPCYL awardee will be acknowledge with a certificate of nomination and still
qualified to be nominated for the next year’s SPCYL Award.
9. Awards will be conferred on December 8, 2019, during the celebration on the Diocesan Youth Day and Closing of the
2019 Year of the Youth in Vicariate of St. Michael the Archangel at San Miguel, Bulacan.
Our criteria:
1. He/she has been actively involved in any Catholic youth organization and involved in Youth Ministry in the past 3 years;
2. Has been leading an exemplary life as a devout Catholic;
3. Has been initiating and/or contributing to the welfare and advancement of the youth in the community;
4. Has been doing a meritorious service in the parish, vicariate and in the diocese; and,
5. Has not yet received the said award.
We, again, are expressing our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the untiring support you have given to our program dedicated
especially to our youth.
