SAMPLING METHOD

Being appointed as campaign leader is a horrendous task to be fulfilled. It is filled with

tasks such as fundraising, advertising, polling, getting out the vote (with direct contact to the
public), and other activities supporting the effort, directly. With little time remaining to salvage
those difficult duty, we must select an appropriate method. And that method is Stratified Random
Sampling.

The reason we’re using a stratified random sampling as our sampling method is to diminish
the time needed to execute our assigned job. In this sampling, we will divide the samples from
each barangay classified as the pro’s and anti’s based on the candidate’s campaign. By dividing
the samples into two, we can decrease the time needed for the survey to be finished. Not only will
it give us ample time to prepare to campaign our candidate, but also time for us to do our other
duties.

Another reason we’re choosing stratified random sampling is to produce the appropriate
fruit of our labour. Through random stratified sampling, we can group the samples into the two
main subgroups, the one that will and will not vote our candidate, of which is the real essence of
election. With this subgroups in hand, we can get an accurate answer and not just skip steps
because of sampling errors. Sampling errors are such as: getting a sample that is not representative,
and biased in some ways. So picking this method can lead to an accurate, efficient, and convenient
results, as what the candidate have ordered.

INSTRUCTION

STEP 1:

The campaign team will kick off the event. By campaigning, they may or may not get the hearts
of our target samples of which is essential to the method that we are supposed to be using.

STEP 2:

As a group composed of twenty persons, we will divide it into five subgroups with four
members. With tons of time allotted, we will conduct interviews on whether the sample likes to
invest his/her vote to candidate. After the campaign was finished, the survey team will get off
their boots and go to the five barangays ( Barangay Malakas, Matapang, Matalino, Matapat,
Mapagmahal).

STEP 3:

The supposed time is roughly around 1 P.M to 5 P.M.in the afternoon. When the interviews are
done each person will head back to our campaign station. We will discuss the answers given by
the respondents.

STEP 4:
After the discussion are done, we will come up into a cumulative conclusion agreed by every
member of the survey team. We will make a report regarding the result of the survey conducted.

2. What is your basis on voting him?
3. Do you think he will perform based on his words?
4. Do you think his credentials are good enough for a councillor?
5. Do you think he can execute his platform well?
6. Do you think he’ll not crack under pressure?
7. What is his advantage to other candidates? Why?
8. Do you think his platform is appropriate to the public
9. Do you think he has what it take to be to run for the mayoral position next election?
10. Do you think he has what it take to fulfil the responsibility of a councillor?

We chose interview rather than questionnaire because of the sensitivity of our topic. Someone's
reputation, status, time, and money will be in vain if we don't get the accurate answer needed.
We chose interview because we can obtain non-verbal data such as little actions telling whether
the respondent is saying the truth, precision, and flexibility of the answer. Time-wise, we are not
getting hobbled because we allot ample time for our survey team to perform their job. And that's
the full wrap on why we picked interview over questionnaire.
With completing the task that was set
before us, I was able to benefit from a
variety of new things. Conducting a
survey for me is like feeding myself to the
wolves. My shyness sometimes get the
better of me, so completely finishing the
task feels so relieving. I explored a whole
new world through survey which brings
me into a new experience. If given the
chance again, I would love to do a survey
and incorporate my newly learned skills to
pair with my newly established
enthusiasm for survey. – 2019-SHS0045

“In conducting survey there’s a lot of things we need to

consider, such the popular , the simple the scope, the
tool we were going to use and etc. At first , I
encountered some difficulties about the process of
surveying , it is my first time I don’t have any nature
about what I am going to do. But , when were in the half
of the process were able to know and learn how to
gather and collect data or information from the
respondents. For now, I’ll continue studying about it for
me to become more better in conducting survey like
this.” - 2019-SHS0018
