BDCOM NMS Installation

Note: It is advised to install the NMS software on the “D” or “E” drive instead
of drive “C”

1. Create a new folder on either “D” or “E” drive in management PC or Server

and rename this folder NMS.
2. To download the latest NMS please visit below site –
https://sites.google.com/bdcom.cn/international/download/nms?authuser=0

Download following 3 files and save it –

a. Key (text file)

b. S0K8-4148-L9K7-1714-N400-0001.lic
c. And NMS zip file

2. Right click on the setup (Application file) and Run as administrator

3. Select the Installation Path to any drive of the management PC/Server
(except “C” drive). Click on Install

4. It will start to install the NMS

5. Wait for the NMS to complete the installation and click on Finish

6. Right click on the mysql file and change the security settings and allow read-
write for all of the profiles
7. Change the profile settings, click apply and OK

8. To run the NMS double click on “StartNms”

9. Below “Wrong Message” window will be displayed. Click on OK

10. Serial Number (SN) should be asked. Enter the Serial number: S0K8-4148-
L9K7-1714-N400-0001, click on Confirm
11. NMS Registration Tool will be displayed. Need to register the NMS with
license file. Click on Register button

12. Select the .lic file and click Open

13. A success message “Registered successfully” will be displayed. Click on OK

14. Open the CLI interface of the BDCOM OLT and make the following changes:

 switch#config
 switch_config#snmp-server community 0 BDCOM RW
 switch_config#snmp-server host 192.168.199.X version v2c BDCOM
authentication configure SNMP
 switch_config#write all
 Note: The host SNMP server address should be the static assigned IP address
of the management PC/Server.

15. Open the web browser and browse to the address localhost:8888. Login
with the details – Username: root Password: public

16. Browse to Network Elements > Discovery Element and make the
following changes:
 IP Address: 192.168.199.X
 Netmask: 255.255.255.0
 Discover Type: GPON/EPON
 Community: Change to BDCOM
 Click Add and click on Discovery

17. Let the device run through the discovery process.

18. Browse to Network Elements > Topo Display

19. Click on the Select Map button

 Click on default – click on the IP address to expand and click on the GPON
unit and click on OK. The Topo Display will show all connected devices and
which are active and inactive.
