Statement of Purpose/Study Plan

Academic Background:
I (name) completed my graduation in chemistry with specialization in biochemistry from one of
the best university (University Name) Pakistan, In January 2019. I did my final year thesis project
on “………” In this project I learned and researched such as about the activity of Bacteria with
respect to time, temperature and concentration, .While working on this project I found strong
motivation in myself towards graduate study. My major subjects were Physical Chemistry,
Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Biochemistry, Environmental chemistry,
Biochemistry of macromolecules and techniques, Nutrition/Physiological chemistry,
Microbiology and Immunology, All these subjects are of my interest but out of all Biochemistry
take my interest toward itself. I got interested in the field of biochemistry and the study of
biochemistry pursue me, to continue my study on the MS level.

Statement of Purpose:
I have been naturally tending towards science than to subjects in humanities ever since I was in
my high school. This was the reason that, I always excelled in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and
Mathematics. After graduating from high school, I had no conclusive idea on my future goals as
all subjects in science equally interested me. Therefore, I chose a combination of Chemistry,
Physics and Biology in my Higher Secondary School, a two years intermediate level between high
school and university studies. During my intermediate level studies, I developed an interest for
chemistry by getting a slightly deeper knowledge of the subject and making practical observations
of chemical changes in laboratory. It was thus logical for me to enter into an undergraduate
program in chemistry.

During my undergraduate studies, I had an exposure to a full range of courses in chemistry which
tended to reinforce and solidify my interest in the subject. Besides chemistry courses, I also studied
various other courses including Calculus, Statistics and Physics, which provided me ample
knowledge necessary for a better understanding of chemistry. While studying biochemistry
courses, I sensed in there a beautiful merger of chemistry, practical use and Application, and
realized how meaningful this merger is in understanding chemical phenomena of biochemistry.
This was the point where I decided to study biochemistry as my Major in final year. Though all

the courses in biochemistry were interesting, but microbiology and immunology was
comparatively more appealing to my interest as it adopted a completely different approach at
solving chemical phenomena. In the meantime, I happened to attend a conference on biochemistry
as an audience at my university. It was for the first time that I came to learn that biochemistry
approaches could be used very usefully and successfully in obtaining a multitude of chemical
information and their importance in human life,. This conference was a milestone for me to decide
on my future career goals. After having earned master Degree, I intend to continue my studies
further in the area of biochemistry research towards M.S/Master Degree. In the future, my aim is
continue as a scientist most desirably in a research oriented institute, to contribute my theoretical
knowledge and creativity towards even better realization of the goals.

Without any doubt, all of the Chinese universities and tall for their high standards of academics
and research. I thoroughly researched many of the Chinese universities in general and the south
china university of Technology (scut) China in particular so as to find a place that better complies
with my future research aims. Finally, I came to learn about Professors, who is working in the area
of biochemistry at the college of science in south china university of Technology (scut). I had a
look at their research interests and found them to be very sharply aligned with my future research
goals. An overview at their research contributions to the field revealed them to be highly
experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated scientists in the field. Besides, the facilities available
at the labs in which I wish to undertake my graduate studies are among the best in the country
which is also one of the factors that push me to seek admission to south china university of
Technology(scut) China.

Study Plan in China:

I would like to apply for the Master's Degree in chemistry of biochemistry in China because from
my deep study about biochemistry. I come to know the vast practical applications of biochemistry;
this caught my attention and created a thirst of knowledge in me to study my chosen course. . There
were two reasons to this; it involved a lot of practical and useful application in this modern world
that I like the most, and secondly, I was greatly moved by the way explained the nature and
behavior of microorganisms. Therefore, I would like to gain deeper theoretical and practical
knowledge in starting and managing most innovative projects. During my studies, with great
hidden abilities in myself I will try to come up with the best of everything; to a company the

professors and university colleagues in carrying out research and exploring for immense exciting
industrial mysteries in the field of chemistry. After completion of my master’s studies I hope to be
able to take part in maximizing my country’s research technology in such fields to benefit its
economy and enhance the living standards of my compatriots. I believe that this Master’s Program
will provide me with the chance to get to know with chemistry and affiliates me dedicatedly to the
industries, which are living examples of the art of biochemistry. I hope that I can gain more
experience in dealing with situations, peoples, systems and demands which will be of a great help
in my future career.

Reason to study in China:

Now the question arise “why china” Reading the books, watching the news, analyzing and
observing the people of china, I am really impressed by Chinese especially of their purity in
dealing. By the way these individual have proved themselves to be dedicated to their work and
with true effort they have set china as a successful example for other third world or developed
countries. The fast growing economy, technological advancement and the global ranking.

Education institute of china with high reputation makes a great aspiration to the student and
professional for the better career perspectives. Thus such kind of positivity boosted my confidence
further and I am highly satisfied with the decision I have taken. Moreover china diverse cultural
norms and values, the famous gentle hospitality of its people and Pakistan-China all weather
friendly relation since past to promote bilateral trade, acceptance and peace to both sides in great
clarity me feel china as my second homeland, also my family fully support my choice for china
being my preference for my graduate studies. All these reason put together make china an ideal
place for me to do my master’s degree, concluding it with high hopes I believe this application
