This Championship is first and foremost about building strong relationships and friendships
among the Pacific Rim nations and we are extremely pleased to have partnered with Gymnastics
BC to host this prestigious event in Richmond.
The success in the organization of a major event like the Pacific Rim Championships would not
be possible without the tremendous work of all volunteers, coaches, judges and support staffs.
Thank you to the Richmond and British Columbia communities for their strong support of this
event.
The performances you will witness this week take talent, character and determination. We know
you will be thrilled by this week’s competition, in the pursuit of excellence. Enjoy the show!

Welcome to the 2014 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval!!
Gymnastics BC is pleased to bring these championships back to British Columbia.
Since 1969, Gymnastics BC has been providing leadership in the growth and development of
gymnastics throughout the province. We know that gymnastics is the foundation of all human
movement. It provides a solid basis of important skills such as balance, strength, flexibility and
overall body awareness that can be transferred to all other athletic activities.
All participants develop lifelong skills while engaging in social interactions with peers in a fun and
positive environment! Gymnastics embraces the concept of providing a positive, nurturing
environment from which to grow.
The 2014 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships are one the world’s most prestigious international
gymnastics events. Junior and senior athletes in men’s artistic, women’s artistic, trampoline and
rhythmic gymnastics will compete under the magnificent roof of the Richmond Olympic Oval.
An event of this magnitude is not possible without the support from our sponsors and partners: the
Government of Canada, Government of BC and City of Richmond as well as our numerous
sponsors, both national and local. And to our many volunteers, a very special and heartfelt thank-
you.
Good-luck to all of the athletes – you have trained hard for this moment, enjoy it. Thank-you to the
coaches and judges, your commitment to our sport is why gymnastics in continues to grow and
thrive. And to the family, friends and fans – welcome, we hope you have a great time in Richmond!

Gymnastics is a multi-discipline sport with two identities, one as a foundation sport and
the other as a competitive sport. Canada is recognized as a world leading gymnastics
