NATIONAL RAIL
& TRANSPORTATION INSTITUTE
Currently the world’s seventh largest commercial employer with over 1.3 million
employees, Indian Railways has evolved into the fourth largest rail network
globally. Boasting about 115,000 km of track length across more than 7,000
stations, Indian Railways touches the lives of more than 23 million passengers,
the equivalent of Australia’s entire population, daily.
Established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, National Rail and
Transportation Institute (NRTI) is a pioneer in the field of transport education in
India. It is the first-of-its-kind university with a vision to develop a cadre of young
graduates who are empowered problem-solvers with an actionable understanding
of the transportation ecosystem.

compulsory for students as the Undergraduate programme is fully residential

FINANCIAL AID
NRTI is pleased to offer the following additional financial aid to eligible students:
• Slab 1. Gross family annual income < INR 1,00,000 (less than One lakh
rupees)
• Slab 2. Gross family annual income between INR 1,00,000 and INR 3,00,000
(between One lakh and Three lakh rupees)
Financial aid recipients will be based on eligible applicants’ ranking in the NRTI
Entrance test. 20% of the seats available for financial aid, under each Slab, are
reserved for female candidates.
