1) Advantages and disadvantages of the use of songs in Nursery.

Songs are important tools in learning English Language because Songs can help are the children in learning
process. In my opinion, the advanteges of songs as follows:

1. Songs are a way to introduce new languages.

2. Songs can improve children's pronunciation.
3. Songs help to improve listening, concentration and attention
4. Songs can increase the motivation for children practice speaking.
5. Songs help to develop many cognitives process, such as memory.
6. The protagonists are the children.

However, songs have some disadvantages also:

1. Children are different learning rhythms, so not all songs are appropriate.
2. it's possible to lose control of the class.
3. Some songs have vocabulary unknown to children.

2) Why to use games?

Playing is a child's natural way of learning. Children learn rules and values and children learn how to work with
others. On the other hand, games help children's psychomotor development, like coordination, cognitive
thought.

There are some reasons for using games in class, as follows:

1. Children's attention is focus on the task without realising that they are practicing, for example, in
tongue twister, they practise English sounds while they are playing.
2. The language used in games is repetitive and/or uses basic structures.
3. Children bring much varieties of games into class wich they know, for example Simon says, children
must follow instructoins of "Simon" and not those of another partner.
4. Games create a sense of closeness with the class. Children understand of the need to cooperate.
5. Games provide learning experiences which children practice and review language in a meaningful and
funny way, therefore creating a positive attitude towars the english learning.
6. Also, using games are a way to explore other cultures. This is a way for to promote the respect
towards the other language, its speakers and its culture.

3) Considerations using The Intenet in class.

For using the internet in clase, we must consider the following rules:

1. Be prepared. Like other classes, we must prepare all resources, checking some web pages before
lessons, seeking activities, etc. Also, we must to have some alternative activitines in case technical
problems occur.
2. Be patient: sometimes, the web can be slow or we can not access to it. Then, we will wait than
problems are resolved.
3. Be organised: we must keep a list with all web resources which we have used.
4. Be realistic: the computers are a resource. Teachers can not be replace.
5. Be exploratory: the NET is changing very fast. Ofen there is new resources. We must our imagination
and find out new things.
6. Be critical: Internet has a lot of information available. We must be careful when choosing the contens.
7. Be co-operative: we must exchange information and resources with students and other teachers.

5) Advantages and disadvantages of the use of textbooks.

Nowadays, course books are very used in all subjects. Some advantages of use the textbooks in the english
learning, as follows:

1. Save time.
2. Activities are prepared.
3. Textbooks have got lots and varied additionals materials.
4. Textbooks are related to General Objetives, education in values and other transversal contents.
5. Textbooks can offer security to the novices teachers.
6. Some coursebooks are very attractive.
7. Lessons are well sequenced.
8. Written by very experienced teachers.

On the other hand, coursebooks have some disadvantages. Textbooks are monotonous and they inhibit and
impede to the teacher work with creativity. Also, Textbooks are not written for our teaching situation and they
are very expensive.

6) Types of songs. Examples.

For teaching English language, there are different types of songs:

- Playful songs: their function is to entertain or to enjoy.

- Didactic songs: With these songs children learn some concepts like body parts, vocabulary, routines,
etc.
- Skill songs: children learn skills such as tongue twister or riddles.
- Motor songs: these songs are interactives, with them children can practice gesture and movements.

7) Practical considerations when using games.

For using the games in the English Class, teachers must take into acount some considerations, as follows:

- Set up routine in the second laguage class.

- Change the distribution of the class if it is necessary (U shape, in pairs, in groups, etc.)
- Name the teams with original names, such as, “The Incredibles” and “Shreks”.
- Gradually using pair work and familiar games for the pairs.
- We must take care with explanations or instructions and using demonstrations in order for our pupils
to know exactly what they have to do.
- We must avoid too much noise and excitement. This is sometimes very difficult in nursery.
- We have to try to score in an imaginative way, such as:
o With drawings, e.g. spiders (the teacher clean a part of the spider when the answer is
incorrect), a ladder or a line.
o With forfeits, e.g. when the answer is right nothing occurs, however, when it is wrong the
team loses, for example, a shoe.
- We must incorporate the games into the syllabus, not only at the end of the week.
- Help weaker students and give them hints. This will ensure a more exciting contest
- After the game doing a self-evaluation in order for students to participate into the teaching/learning
process and it is a help for us for improving what is wrong.
