SHIP WHEEL

This document contains the instructions for making a Rudder, which is a beautiful decoration for
any wall. For example, it can be the wall of your living room, restaurant, raft or any other place
you choose.

For making a rudder, you should purchase some dry wood with nice texture, like oak, cherry, beech,
ash or walnut. For making the Circle (item 4), Front Cover (item 5) and Back Cover (item 6) you can use
a bit more pale type of wood or some soft alloy (copper and aluminum). Rivets should be made of some
soft metal material, so you could easily assemble the project.

NOTE: The measurements within this text and 2D documentation are given both in millimeters and
inches (in brackets). This website is based on ISO measurement unit system, which is the international
standard. I apologize to the people who use other measurement units; but I believe that measurements
given in millimeters and inches should be adequate for everyone who would like to build this project.
Besides that, on today’s Internet it is easy to purchase the ruler containing all the measurement units
and overcome the difficulties of any kind.

Assemblage Instruction
Make the components as given on pictures.

1. Handle (item 1), Arc (item 2) and Pins (item 9; D10 x 80mm) join together with wood glue as shown
on the picture. This way you will make the first half of the rudder. Fasten the shaped form into the
clamp and leave it to dry out.

made construction.

6. Use nails to fix the Circle (item 4) to previously made construction. If the Circle is
made of some soft alloy (copper, aluminum), at first you have to drill the holes for
nails. Repeat this process on the other half of the rudder.
