Line 2: Involving overtime working in manufacturing industries Abstract: Activities involved in manufacturing sector industries often require overtime working to meet the production schedules. However, some managers exploit the system to make money. They allot overtime hours even then the schedule is on clock and receive certain amount of money from workers for allotting that unnecessary overtime hours. Methodology: I will approach the analysis by first doing literature survey for relevant cases recorded. This will be followed by an interaction with a manager working in planning department of a manufacturing industry. This discussion will involve analysing the relevance of the topic to his firm.
Priority 2: Issues in outsourcing contracts to external firms
Line 1: Ethical issues involving managers, outsourcing activities Line 2: to firms based on personal relation rather than tender in manufacturing sector Abstract: It’s often necessary for firms to outsource activities to other firms to focus on their core competencies. However, often, people involved in this process abuse their power to allot the contract to the firms based on the personal relation and other incentives received from the third party rather than following the company’s policies. Methodology: Approach will be to analyse by first doing literature survey for relevant cases recorded and how it ended after being found. This will be followed by an interaction with a manager involved in this process in a manufacturing firm. This discussion will involve studying the observed relevant instances and the reasons behind the issue.
