ongratulations on your selection of
TeleMagic that brings a new level of comfort
at your home / work place. It will connect
your 3 telephone line to 8 or 9 extensions. You can
answer or make a call from anywhere. One can lock
dialing out facility of any extension for Local / Toll free
/ Mobiles / '95' / STD & ISD calls to control your
telephone bill. A call can be transferred, intercepted
or you can even establish a 3 party conference
between yourself and one external / internal call or
in any combination. The system has a capacity to
store 80 external phone numbers / mobiles numbers
including STD / ISD Codes which can be dialed from
any extension by pressing 3 digits. TeleMagic is very
easy to install and operate. By using PCE feature
you can virtually double the extension capacity at no
extra cost.

Besides this, it is full of superceding features


that gives extra advantage.

If any case system power put off or blow off the fuse (1 amp.) in side the system then your
trunk line L1, L2 automatically connected directly to extn. No. 20, 21 respectively

(F) Installation
1. Select a convenient location on wall / wood panel near an Electrical socket. The
place should be dry, airy & free from moisture and easily accessible by service
personal to open top cover screw / unscrew cables etc.
2. Hand the system on wall / wood panel
3. Open the top cover of the system by opening screws as shown in (Fig. -1)
4. Use single pair cable for extension, trunk line, Door Phone / Extn. Door Lock &
Paging port.
5. Connect the cable of telephone lines to “TRK line” Connector and extension
phones to “extension connector” of the system card MDF and Cable of Door
Phone / Extn. Door Lock, Paging port connect the MDF of Feature Plus Card as
shown in (Fig -1)
6. Plug to ON the system.

CAUTION :
• Avoid Installing the system during raining / lighting / thunder.
• Don't touch un-insulated telephone wires.
• Never connect CO Line (Trunk Line) to Extension Connector.

BASIC FUNCTIONS
Abbreviations / Symbols

Lift the Handset


Lift the handset of your extension phone to initiate a call,
Or to answer a call.
• Press the HANDSFREE or SPEAKER key if you are using a
loud speaker phone

Dialing
Dial the number on your extension phone

Hang up Re-place the handset on the phone, to finish a call,

IMPORTANT : To place a follow on call, you must replace your


handset for at least one second, otherwise the unit may treat it as
a FLASH (recall) signal.
Flash
Use the operation to put a call on hold, or retrieve an on hold call.
Flash • On some phones this key may be called FLASH.
• If your phone does not have such key, momentarily press the
Hook switch / cradle switch of your extension telephone.
• On registering of Hook Flash, you will get pip-tone for 2
second.

Talk
Start talking to the other party.

Dial Extension
Extension Dial extension number.
Number

Linten List for incoming rings, tones, or beeps


• Rings from CO line and other extensions have different
cadences, so that you can distinguish between them by
listening to the ring.

CO CO means “P&T Line / Trunk Line” lines i.e. the normal telephone
line or Trunk line (Tone / Pulse Type)
• If telephone line is Pulse dialing type then system should be
programmed for ‘Pulse dialing type’.
• If telephone line is Tone dialing type then system should be
programmed for ‘Tone / DTMF dialing type’.

Extension to Extension Call (Intercom)
To call from any extensionto other extension free of cost proceed as under :

Answering Calls
A Call can be answered by lifting the handset of a RINGING extension

Alternatively, you may hang up before the other party answers. The CO / Internal call will be
automatically connected to the other party as soon as he / she answers.

If you dialed the wrong extension number or no reply by dialled extension press the Flash key to
reconnect with the CO party.

If the other party is busy, you can hang up the handset to camp the call on the busy extension. The
busy extension gets a call camp on tone for the call camped.

To talk to the holder person again after talking with the other extension, Flash the Hook switch (or
press the Flash key)

If the transferred call is not answered the TeleMagic will call you back in 15 seconds.

Whenever you use Flash key to hold the call, Waiting tone for internal call and music tone for
external / CO call will be heard.

Barge in (Intercepting) with warning tone
Sometimes when you call an extension and find it busy (after listening to busy
tone) you may like to intercept his / her conversation.

Step Operation Procedure Tones

If the called extension hangs up then you can continue to talk to the other party (with whom the

Barge in (Intercepting) without warning tone


To barging without warning tone proceed as above and dial '9' (in-lieu of 8)
The facility is OFF in factory setting

Day & Night Mode Switching


You can programme two different group of ringing extns. for incoming calls on
Trunk line, call from Door phone & group / Emergency call in day and night mode.
Thus, you can have one setting for day mode and other setting for night mode. You
can change from day mode setting to night mode setting or vice-versa by following
procedure.

Last Number Redial
To redial the last external number dialled on trunk lines, proceed as below :

Memory Dialing (system memory)


Central memory of the system can store upto 80 phone numbers. Each number
stored can be of 16 digits max. Including STD / ISD codes and external number.
This is very useful and No need to remember long telephone numbers as
STD / ISD / Mobile no.

Group Call / Emergency Call


It facilitates you can call up-to 4 extensions simulataneously by dialing 2 digit
code. The extn. Which answers first will be connected to you & RING of other
extns. Will be stop.

To hold a Call
To hold during conversation with CO / Internal call, use following procedure :
— Press Flash key or Flash the Hook switch
— Listen the beep-beep tone
— To retrieve again press Hook Flash
Waiting tone for internal call and music tone for external / CO call will be
heared at the time of hold.

Call Consult
It is often required to consult with other extension while conversations with an
external or internal caller. During call consult maintained total secreacy for the
call. To use this facility proceed as below
— Hold the call (Internal / Co ) during conversation
— Listen beep-beep tone
— Dial another extension no.
— Start conversation after replay.
— Flash again to retrieve first party.

Auto Call Back on Busy Extension


While calling an extension phone if you find it busy, then using this facility, the
system will give simultaneously ring on both extension whenever, both are free.
To use this facility proceed as below :
— Lift the handset and hear dial tone.
— Dial the extension number and get Busy tone.
— Press the Flash Key or Flash the Hook switch
— Listen beep – beep tone
— Dial '7' & listen beep-beep tone.
— Hang up
Whenever the system finds both the extensions free, it gives ring to both
the extns.
— Lift the handset and wait for the other phone to answer.
— Hang up when you have finished the conversation

Auto call back on Busy Trunk Line


While trying to access a trunk line if you find it busy, then can be use this facility.
To use this facility proceed as below :
— Lift the handset and hear dial tone.
— Dial trunk access code '0 / 8 / 9 or 71 / 72 / 73' and get Busy tone.
— Press the Flash Key to Flash the Hook switch.
— Listen beep-beep tone
— Dial '7' & listen beep-beep tone.
— Hang up
Whenever the system find the trunk line free, it gives ring to the extension .
Lift the handset and Start dialing the desired external number.
— Hang up when you have finished the conversation.

Call Camp on ( Transferring a call to Busy Extension )
If you are trying a transfer a call to some extension and find it busy then also you can
transfer the call to the busy extension. This is also called as “Call Camp on “. The
external call only can be transferred to a busy extension. To use the this feature :
— While talking to the CO Line
— Press the Flash Key, or Flash the Hook switch.
— Listen beep-beep tone.
— Dial the extension number and get the Busy tone.
— Hang up to camp the call
Alternatively, you may Flash the Hook switch again (or press the Flash
Key ) to reconnect with the CO Party.

Pick up a Camped call / To answer the camped call


When you are in conversation with a call and someone else transfers an external
call to you then the external call is “Camped” on your extension. You can pickup or
answer the camp call through two ways –

Option – 1
— When talking to current call listen to the beep tone every 10 sec.
— Hang up to finish the current conversation
— The camped call will ring and you can answer it.

Option – 2
— When Talking to current call listen to the beep tone at every 10 sec.
— Press the Flash Key, or Flash the Hook switch
— Dial '6' & the current call parked & camped call connect to you.
— Hang up after talk or transferring the camped call.
— Lift up handset and listen to the Dial Tone.
— Dial '16' To retrieve the temporarily parked call.

Camped Call Pickup from other Extension


If a call is camped on an extension, then this camped call can be pick from any
other extension with following steps.
— Lift the handset and listen to the Dial tone.
— Dial '14 + Extension number' (where call is camped)
You are connected to the call, which was camped at some other extension.

Call Parking
Call parking is a facility to temporarily put aside the present call as call park and your
extension become free. You may park a CO / Internal / Door Phone call and retrieve it
later at the same extension. To use this feature proceed as under :
— While talking to the CO / Internal / Door Phone Call
— Press the Flash Key, or Flash the Hook Switch.
— Listen beep – beep tone.
— Dial '6’ & the current call “Parked”

If you forget to retrieve the park call then this call automatically return back
after 1 minute on same extension. Waiting tone for internal / Door Phone
or Music tone for external / CO Call will be heard at the time of parking.

Call Park and automatic Pickup of Ringing extension


If an extension is under conversation with any call and listen a ring of another call on
other extension then this ring can be automatically pickup with current call packed
and retrieve it later at the same extension. The procedure as given below :
— During conversation with a call.
— Press the Flash key or press the Hook switch.
— Listen beep-beep tone
— Dial 4 and to connect the ringing call with current call park automatically.

Call Toggle
To toggle between current call ( trunk ) and parked call ( trunk ) one by one, while
keeping one call on hold with music. It is possible between the two trunk lines
only. You can use call toggle through two ways with following procedure :

Option 1 :
— Use “Call park and automatic pickup of ringing extn.” feature for another
incoming call on trunk line. Now you connect to ringing trunk call with current
trunk call ( incoming or outgoing ) parked automatically.
— Press the Flash key or Hook Switch.
— Listen beep-beep tone.
— Dial 9 to toggle both trunk call.
— Hang up whenever finish the current call after conversation
— Now again dial 16 to retrieve parked call and Hang up after finish this present
call.

Option 2 :
— Make outside call & after conversation parked this call to become free.
— Make another outside call & start conversation.
— Press the Flash key or Hook Switch.
— Listen beep-beep tone.
— Dial 9 to toggle both trunk call.
— Hang up whenever finish the current call after conversation.
— Now again dial 16 to retrieve parked call and Hang up after finish this present
call.

Parked Call Pickup


To connect again to the park call which you parked recently proceed as under :
— Disconnect the current call or transferred to other extension.
— Hangup your hand set.
— Lift the handset again and listen to the Dial tone.
— Dial '16' & you are again connected to the parked call.

Conference (Three Party)
You can make conference among youself and 2 other parties whether internal or
external. With the help of call parking you can establish a conference as following
steps :
Step – 1 : Park the present call and get yourself free
Step - 2 : Make another call, Dial Flash + #
The Conference is established between yourself and the 2 calls
Step – 3 : Hang up to finish the conference.

Call Forwarding
You can forward all calls to any other pre-assigned extension. This feature is very
useful when you move to some other extension and you do not want that your calls
remain unattended. You can forward calls by following procedure :
— Lift the handset and listen dial tone.
— Dial 114 + Extn. No. Where the calls are to be forwarded
— Listen beep-beep tone & hang up
Note : After activated this feature, whenever you lift the handset you will get a
beep-beep tone for 2 or 3 secs. before get the system dial tone.

Boss – Secretary
Any extension can route all incoming calls ( internal / external ) through any other
extension using Call Forwarding facility. The call forward user extension becomes
as a Boss and receiver extension of forward calls becomes as Secretary. All
incoming calls (internal / external) of Boss will be land at Secretary's extension. While
only Secretary can dial to Boss extension number and transfer the call to him.
Through Boss can dial outside call directly or ask the Secretary to make a call and
transfer it to him. To active this facility, Boss should use the Call Forwarding
Feature.

Ring once on extension


You can use this feature if you do not want to be disturbed by the continuous rings
from the internal call. On enabling this feature, you will hear the single ring and caller
will get continuous ring back tone. The extn. will give a short ring if the caller
disconnects.
To enable Ring once :
— Lift handset and list dial tone
— Dial 11 «
— Listen beep-beep tone & hang up

Cancellation of Ring Once and Call Forwarding :


— Lift handset and wait for dial tone after the beep-beep tone
— Dial 116 & listen beep-beep tone
— Hang up & now your extension will come in normal mode.

Call Waiting offered by P&T Department
If you have call waiting facility on your trunk line(s) it can be invoked at extension
also. The difference in the procedure is illustrated below :

To transfer a call to the parallel extension :


This feature can be used to transfer a call to the parallel companion extension
with the following procedure.
— Make a call or receive a call
— Start Conversation
— Press Hook Flash to hold the call
— Dial 13
— Listen beep-beep tone
— Hang up
— Now both extension ring simultaneously
— As soon as the other phone handset lifted the ring stops automatic
— Now hold call connected to the parallel extension.
— Hang up after finish the conversation

Installation of F3 Card
To install F3 card, Please proceed as under :
— Put OFF the power of the system
— Open the top cover
— Hold the card in upright position (component side) and place J1 (26 Pin)
female header of the F-3 card to J5 (26 Pin) male header of main card,
respectively, as shown in fig. No. 3 and press it gentelly.
— Connect the 6 pin female connector from J2 as shown in fig. No. 3 of the
F-3 Card with 6 pin male connecter J1 of X-308 at the main card.
— Now put ON the power of system.

Additional Features of F-3 Card


(A) Door Lock
You can use single pair cable to connect the single mode door lock power supply
at door lock port as shown in fig. No. 3 of F-3 card. After that connect the Door
Lock to Door Lock power supply.
— Lift the handset and listen dial tone
— Dial 79 and listen beep beep tone.
— Now your door lock will open.
— Hangup the hand set.

(B) Paging Port


Connect the single pair cable between the paging port of F-3 and Amplifier of Public
Address System. Whenever you access the paging code (78 ) from the extension, you will
get the direct announcement facility on amplifier speaker sets. If paging busy with other
extension you will get busy tone. To paging proceed as below.
— Lift the handset and listen dial tone.
— Dial 78 and listen beep beep tone. Jumper Setting for Extra Extn.
— Now you can announce the message.

SYSTEM PROGRAMMING
Your TeleMagic can be programmed for large variety of communication needs. These
program setting remain intact even after power failure. Certain features are non-
programmable (fixed) and common to all extensions while some features are programmable
and can vary from extn. to extn.
All Programming can be done only in supervisory mode from extension no. 20 or 21 in tone
mode at the site. The system supervisory password is 567 and can not be changed.
In the program mode use Extn. No. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 in respect of 20........28

Enter into supervisory mode


To enter into supervisory mode follow the following steps :
1. Lift handset and listen dial tone.
2. Dial 10 567 & listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
3. Dial required programming digits for different facilities and features.
4. The service confirmation tone is returned if correct programming digits
are entered otherwise an error tone. It will off automatically after 2-3 secs.
5. Whenever you programme less than 4 extns. in the required programming
than you have to dial # to get the service confirmation tone.
6. Repeat the above procedure for further programming from step 3 and thus
you can keep on programming without dial supervisory mode again and
again. Alternatively to finish up with programming simply disconnect the
handset.

Set type of Trunk


When in supervisory mode
— Dial 30 + T + 0 or 1 or 2 or 3
Where T = 1 (Line 1) or 2 (Line 2 ) or 3 ( Line 3 )
0 for DECADIC dialing on the CO line
1 for DTMF / TONE dialing on the CO Line
2 for one way working of the CO line (only incoming call)
3 for making CO line out of service
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
Factory setting : CO line set for DTMF MODE.
Note : Do not set Co line type decadic if corresponding Co line is DTMF

CO Line Grouping
The CD Line can be divided into three groups if required at different extension. This
group can be allowed / not allowed to different extension. The CO lines of different
groups are access by 0 or 9 respectively. Direct CO access Code 71, 72 also can
used as per the status of CO group as well as the extension status to access the
particular group. The particular CO access groups can have any number of CO lines.
However, one CO line can be only in one CO group.
— Dial 31 + T + A
Where T = 1 ( Line 1 ) or 2 ( Line 2 ) or 3 ( Line 3 )
A = 0 ( group 0 ) or 8 ( group 8 ) or 9 ( group 9 )

Incoming Call Ringing Setup
You can set different ringing extensions for Day / Night mode for the CO line. Further
you can switch between the two setting by “Day Night Modes Switching”
(a) For Day Mode :
You can set upto 4 extensions to ring in three different ways when incoming
call comes on a CO line, when in supervisory mode :
— Dial 32 + T + 0 or 1 or 2 + E1 + E2 + E3 + E4
Where T = 1 (Line 1 ) or 2 ( Line 2 ) or 3 ( Line 3 )
0 for circular ring (round robin)
1 for simultaneous ring
2 for Stair case ring
E1, E2, E3, E4 = extension numbers ( i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3 etc. )
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs
In circular ring (round robin) mode it will ring sequentially on the extens.
In Simultaneous ring mode it will ring on all extensions together.
In Staircase ring mode the first extension will ring for 12 secs. and if un-
answered then second extension will ring along with the previous extension
and so on.
Factory Setting : Co Lines set for circular ring mode.

(B) For Night Mode


For can set upto 4 extensions to ring in three different ways when incoming
call comes on a Trunk line. When in supervisory mode :
— Dial 33 + T + 0 or 1 or 2 + E1 + E2 + E3 + E4
Where T = 1 ( Line 1 ) or 2 ( Line 3 ) or 3 ( Line 3 )
0 for circular ring (round robin)
1 for simultaneous ring
2 for Stair case ring

Behind the PBX Operation


Using this feature the system can be used behind the PBX also. When this feature is
enabled then the first Digit will be neglected by the system for the purpose the “ class
of service”. To program this facility, proceed as under, when in supervisory mode :
— Dial 34 + T + 0 / 1
Where T = 1 ( Line 1 ) or 2 ( Line 2 ) or 3 ( Line 3 )
0 for normal operation of the system
1 for behind the PBX operation (the system will discard first Digit)
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
Factory Setting : Normal Operation of the System.

Toll Call Control (Local / STD / ISD Restriction – Class of service)
The status of extn. for direct outward dialing can be programmed in following options:
Option 0 : All OFF (Intercom status only)
Option 1 : NA
Option 2 : NA
Option 3 : NA
Option 4 : NA
Option 5 : Local are allowed but STD, ISD calls are not allowed.
Option 6 : Local + STD calls are allowed but ISD calls are not allowed.
Option 7 : All types of calls are allowed.
To program class of service of extension proceed as under :
When in supervisory mode :
— Dial 11 + E + A (0 or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 )
Where E = Extension number (i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3 etc.)
A = 0 for option 0
5 for option 5
6 for option 6
7 for option 7
— Listen beep – beep tone for 2 secs.
Factory setting : Available to all extension in option 7

CO / Trunk group access


The Extension can be allowed / disallowed to access CO line groups. To
programme this proceed as under :
(a) 0 Group Access
— Dial 12 + E + 0 or 1
Where 0 = OFF, 1 = ON
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
(b) 9 Group Access
— Dial 13 + E + 0 or 1
Where 0 = OFF, 1 = ON
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
(c) 8 Group Access
— Dial 14 + E + 0 or 1
Where 0 = OFF, 1 = ON
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
Factory Setting : All Extension in Group 0

Barge in without tone


The Extension having this facility can barge in without tone during a conversation of
any other Extension with a tone. To program this facility, proceed as under :
When in supervisory mode :
— Dial 15 + E + 0 or 1
Where E = Extension number (i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3 etc.)
0 then Barge in without tone facility is OFF

— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.

To Activate CLI Display


The user can program the extension to receive the telephone number of the caller if
the CLIP (DTMF) facility is available on the user’s trunk line and extension is
connected with CLI phone. To program this facility, proceed as under :
— Dial 16 + E + 0 or 1
Where E = Extension number (i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3 etc.)
0 = OFF CLI display
1 = ON CLI display
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
Factory Setting : Available on first three extensions

Paging
The extension having this facility can use the paging port.
This feature is available on CLI active extension only.
Factory Setting : Available on fist three extensions

Set Group call numbers


You can set different upto 4 extension to receive the ring for the group call /
emergency call in day / night mode. To program this facility, proceed as under :

(a) For Day Mode :


When is supervisory mode :
— Dial 32 + 90 + E1 + E2 + E3 + E4
— Where E1, E2, E3, E4 = Extension number (i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3 etc.)
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs
Factory setting : On all extensions number 20, 21, 22, 23

(B) For Night Mode


When in supervisory mode
— Dial 33 + 90 + E1 + E2 + E3 + E4
Where E1, E2, E3, E4 = Extension number (i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3, etc.)
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs
Factory Setting : Available on extension number 20, 21, 22, 23

To set ringing extensions from Door Phone


This will set the extensions which will ring when visitor press bell button of Door
Phone. You can have different extensions for Day and different for Night Mode.

(a) For Day Mode :


To program this facility, process as under, when in supervisory mode :
— Dial 32 + 00 + E1 + E2 + E3 + E4
Where E1, E2, E3, E4 = Extension number

To access the CO Lines


By this feature user can access the CO line in two ways.
(a) Linear Mode — Dial 47 + 0
(b) Circular Mode — Dial 47 + 1
Factory setting : Linear Mode
Set Flash duration of the extension
You need to change Flash duration settings of the extension if you find that Flash
key of the extension is not responding properly. To program this facility, proceed as
under, When in supervisory Mode :
— Dial 48 + E + 1 / 2/ 3
Where E = Extension number (i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3 etc.)
1 for 300ms (max.) Flash duration
2 for 650ms (max.) Flash duration
3 for 1000 ms ( max. ) Flash duration
— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
Factory setting : 650 ms max. in software version V2.1 onwards

To store system memory


This feature enables to create a pool of external No. which can be dialed from any
Extn. whether it has dialing out facility or not. To program this facility, proceed as
under, when in supervisory mode :
— Dial 4 ( 600 - 679 ) + T + External Number ( upto 16 digits)
Where ( 600 - 679 ) = Memory location 80 numbers
T = 0 / 8 / 9 or 1 / 2 / 3
— Press # ( if you do not get service confirmation tone )
— Listen beep tone for 2 secs.
The memory locations are from 600 to 679, Repeat the above procedure for
storing more telephone Nos. in other memory locations.
Factory Setting : System memory is empty.

To clear Memory
To program this facility, proceed as under, When in supervisory mode :
— Dial 1039 « 5+A
Where A = 1 to clear programming data
A = 2 to clear system memories

— Listen beep-beep tone for 2 secs.
Example : Dial 1039 «
5 + 3 to clear both programming data & system memories.

Remote Maintenance (Tele-programming)


This is the simplest way to attend the service calls if customer is facing some
problem in programming. Without going there, service engineer can program over
phone line also (even from one city to other city) it is possible with tone dialing
(DTMF) Phone.
Procedure for remote programming is as follows :
(1) Establish a call with the customer at ext. 20 or 21
(2) Customer will put service engg. on hold by Hook Flash – get
music on hold.
(3) After Hook Flash he should dial 19 – Customer will listen service
confirmation tone.
(4) Now command is in service engg. hand. Dial all digits in tone dialing
mode only.
(5) Dial 567 (System passward) & get service confirmation tone
(6) Start programming
(7) If programming is O.K., get assurance tone for 2-3 secs and then
silence after each programming, repeat from step 7
(8) If programming is wrong, get engage tone for 2-3 secs and then
silence. For further programming repeat from step 7.
(9) To disconnect the line immediately dial “« «

(10) Otherwise it will be automatically disconnected in next 20 seconds,

if no digit is dialed or hand up without dial “« ”
