Regulations-2013
Fifth Semester
B.E. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
ME6513 - Metrology and Measurements Lab
Time: 3 Hours Maximum Marks: 100

1. Find the tooth thickness of the given gear and outer diameter by using gear tooth vernier caliper.
2. Determine the taper angle of the given component by using sine bar with help of slip gauges.
3. Determine the thread parameter using profile projector.
4. Find the flatness of the given mirror by using the autocollimator. Also plot the graph between length of
surface and the Autocollimator reading.
5. Measure the major diameter, minor diameter and effective diameter of a given thread using floating
carriage micrometer.
6. Determine the measurement of the bore diameter of the given component by using dial gauges.
7. Measure the temperature of the given medium using a thermocouple trainer kit. Also plot the graph
between actual reading and indicated reading.
8. Measure the applied force by using electronic trainer kit by calibration and plot the graph between applied
load and indicated load.
9. Measure the applied torque by using electronic trainer kit by calibration and plot the graph between actual
torque and theoretical torque.
10. Measure the heights of the given specimens (2 specimens) using the vernier height gauge.
11. Measure the thickness of the given specimens by using mechanical comparator. (5 specimens are in same
in size) using the slip gauges.
12. Determine the components using Vernier depth gauge.
13. Test the flatness of the given component using mechanical comparator
