5.2 Principal design features
5.2.1 Manipulator (13) ensures parallel displacement of the working instrument in both the
horizontal and vertical planes. It consists of three links and two hinges fixed with mechanical stoppers
or AB (at additional SMM outfit).
The third link carries a carriage of vertical displacement range of 0…15 mm, with the universal
head. Displacement magnitude is checked with the scale – coarse or by the micrometer (15) to 10
µm. The universal head is used for installing of the spindle with the working instrument or the
micromotor handpiece of 22…30 mm diameter (for example SDE-H37L).
The micrometer makes it possible to limit a tool displacement magnitude down.
The carriage stopper (18) enables to fix the carriage at the required position.
The manipulator is displaced in height up to 100 mm by rotating the handle of the manipulator
vertical displacement drive (14) and fixed with the stopper.
Before lifting or lowering the manipulator, make sure that the knob of the stopper is slack.
NEVER rotate the handle (14) when the manipulator is fixed.
5.2.2 The universal table for fixing of a model (10) with mechanical determination of horizontal
plane is placed on the platform (2) and held with the electromagnet by pressing the button (3) for 5
min from the moment of the latest pressing the pedal or manipulating by the control unit knob (5). In
the SMM 1.3M and SMM 3.0 the electromagnet is only switched off by repressing the button (See:
PECULIARITIES IN CONTROL).
The model is secured on the table with the help of three uprights, one of which is displaced by
rotating the handle. The model position relatively the vertical line is fixed with the table lever.
5.2.3 Unused instruments are placed in the holder (7).
5.3 Additional accessories (Fig.6)
5.3.1 Analyzing and marking out of a model is carried out with the help of the digital coordinate
meter DCM 1.0 that comprises the table with an angle-data sensor, control unit with the graphical
display for control and visual presentation of attitude position of the model being analyzed;
The DCM makes it possible:
- to store the model current position;
- to measure sequentially tilt angles of longitudinal axes of support teeth at the model;
- to calculate automatically a mean angle to determine the optimum prosthesis introduction route;
- to store the results of measurements for 30 models;
- to install the model into memorized position accurately.
5.3.2 For blocking of undercuts the electric spatula AVERON ES with tapered tips TTM ɯ.0.
5.3.3 For milling operations – the laboratory micromotor with the handpiece SDE-H37L with the
free-wheeling bushing FWB 2.0 or another one with the diameter of 22…30 mm.
5.3.4 For wax treatment a set of wax scrapers S 1.0 with different angles of working face (0°, 2°,
4°, 6°) is used.
5.3.5 High quality of final milling of primary crown metal is ensured by the transfer system. It
consists of the transfer device TD 2.0 mounted in the SMM spindle and the milling bases MB 2.0/ 2.1
with the diameter of 75 ɢ 55 mm respectively. Milling bases are to be mounted at the support
intended for milling bases (the same support serves to press out plaster).
5.3.6 For more comfort during the work there are:
- a set of hand supports with built-in lighting COMFORT 1.0 (9, fig.5);
- set of pneumatic devices AB (22-25, fig.5).
5.3.7 5.3.7 To decrease labour intensity while processing abutments made of superhard
materials (titanium, zirconium oxide) with the help of a dental handpiece with water cooling of
instruments use a table for milling TURBO. 1.0 made of stainless materials with a container for water
collection.
5.3.8 5.3.8 For installation of devices or appliances with diameter 14…22 mm (for instance,
dental handpiece NSK Presto Aqua) use a changeable manipulator head ADAPTER 1.0.
