Warren Buffet

The globe of investors knows his name, businesses in the stock market fear his
name. He acquires businesses after business, adding each to his growing
collection of wealth. This man, the oracle of Omaha, the king of investors,
Warren Buffet. Warren Buffet is one of the top 10 wealthiest philanthropists
and investors in the world. He owns more than 54 companies and has a net
worth of over 84 billion dollars. He stands with the world record for the most
money given to charity, raising the bar to 44 billion dollars. Truly one of the
best investors of the century. Being just an ordinary child, with ordinary
parents and ordinary school did not prevent him from accomplishing this feat.
How did he become Warren Buffet? Good question. bis childhood was not an
ordinary childhood.

Born August 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, United States of America, he was the
only child in the Buffet family. His Father was named Howard Buffet and his
Mother named Leila Buffet. Warren was born in an unfortunate event known as
the Great Depression. Howard was barely able to keep his family afloat and it
almost drove his family to poverty. Leila had to skip dinner so that her husband
and son had something to eat, they even skipped going to church because they
were not able to pay tithes. Everything changed when the stock market sprang
back up. Warren Buffet’s Father started to invest in commodities and other
goods… and it worked. Warren was not idle either. At the age of 5 he started to
sell lemonade at his friend’s house because he thought it had more traffic, age
6 he started selling coke bottles and chewing gum, age 13 he got his first job
delivering newspapers, he added a twist by selling subscriptions at the end of
the month to guarantee last-minute sales. At age 14 he bought a farm and
hired a laborer to work on the farm. With that asset, he paid his way through
college at the same time accumulating 103 000 dollars when he finished
college. Age 19 he and his friend bought pinball machines and placed in
different locations, he later sold it to a retired war veteran for 1200 dollars. We
know that Warren Buffet is a smart dude, so imagine our surprise when we
hear he got rejected by Harvard University, but he got accepted into Columbia
University School of Business ( Which is the same league as Harvard). It was in
that school he found Benjamin Graham, the man he modeled his investment
philosophy later on. Warren Buffet has been really successful with his
childhood. It was all those lessons that prepared him for what was about to
happen in his investment career.

Warren Buffet worked in Graham’s investment firm whereby he was making
an average of 110 000 dollars a month. At the age of 26, he retired, however, he
came out of retirement because he grew restless. Warren Buffet started a
company called Buffet Partnership limited. Buffet Partnership Limited was an
investment firm that started in 1957 however due to the economic climate in
the 1960s he officially closed it down in 1969. Although it was only opened for
12 years, Buffet Partnership Limited made 7 million dollars in net income.
However, before closing down Warren Buffet was an owner of a textile
company known as Berkshire Hathaway. He accumulated stocks of the
company at 11.97 per stock but when he received the stocks, the stocks fell to
11.37 per stock. Warren was boiling with rage when the debacle played out. He
realized that he just got played. Immediately, he bought the remaining stocks,
took over the company and fired the C.E.O. Now he was the owner of a failing
textile company. That is what everybody else thought but Warren Buffet had a
different perspective. He used the profits of Berkshire Hathaway and invested
the money into different businesses. With his philosophy about investing he
was able to buy out big and monstrous companies like Geico, Dairy queen,
Heinz, and Net-Jets. All these companies are all under the name of Berkshire
Hathaway. As of 2006-2008 Berkshire Hathaway Class, 'A' Stocks reached 200
000 per stock valuing their company at a whopping 328 billion dollars. Warren
Buffet himself was valued at 84 billion dollars. However, his most memorable
act of Warren Buffet was when he gave away 44 billion dollars to charity, and
still from the span of 2008-2019 he has given away 27 billion dollars. Warren
Buffet has made it in life, so much as to give it away, but somehow Warren
Buffet still manages to surprise us.

Warren Buffet has bettered the lives of his relatives and people in need. He has
even had meetings with the President discussing how to improve the economic
situation. In fact, he even helped Obama get voted into office, as well as tried to
help Hilary Clinton get voted into office. Buffet has announced that he is giving
away 99 percent of his accumulated wealth to charity through the Melinda and
Bill gates foundation. Warren has blessed the lives of many people through his
talents and supporters he is said to be the investor of the century. At his
interview,he quoted, “it is not the money that makes me happy.'' Warren has
written many books about his success, about what works and what does not. At
least, when he passes, we still have dear memories of him through his books.
