The lamp error detection function

» Function
For added safety, these LCD color TV sets are equipped with the lamp error detection function that
automatically turns off the power in case of lamp or lamp circuitry trouble.
If by any chance the lamp or its circuitry malfunctions or if a lamp error is detected for any other reason, the TV
sets behave as follows.
(1) The TV sets can be switched on, but switch themselves off in about 5 seconds.
(The power LED indicator on the front panel turns from green to red.)
(2) If the above phenomenon (1) occurs 5 times in row, the TV sets cannot be switched on.
(The power LED indicator stays in red.)

» Clearing the lamp error count

Take the following procedure to clear the error count.
(1) While holding down the "INPUT SELECT" and "MENU" keys of the set at once, turn on the main power to
enter the inspection process mode. ("K" appears in magenta onscreen.)
(2) Press the "CH –" and "VOL –" keys at once to enter the adjustment process mode.
(3) Press the "MENU" or "CURSOR DN" key to move the cursor to "ERROR NO RESET" position.
(Make sure the ERROR NO RESET entry is of 5 digits.)
(The "ERROR NO RESET" item appears on page 1 of the adjustment process mode.)
(4) Press the "VOL+/–" or "CURSOR LEFT/RIGHT" key to reset the ERROR NO RESET entry to zero.
(5) Turn off the power.
(6) Turn on the power more times to check, if a lamp error is really detected for any other reason.
(7) When you have no trouble, finally turn off the power.
(8) If a lamp error is detected again, check the lamp on its circuitry malfunctions.
