or community where one belongs.

It is developed through socialization, our awareness of

norms and standard behavior, values and roles that
we take as a member of a political institution.
It is a social institution through which
power is acquired and exercised by
people and groups (Kendall, 1998).

And citizenship becomes a salient basis of
political self.

Filipino.
Lack of knowledge about one’s history and
appreciation of our real identity could lead
to confusion and will eventually to lack of
concern towards our countrymen.

FILIPINO IDENTITY
 Having a political stance and fight for it is
not all about supporting and patronizing a
particular candidate who runs for a position
in the government.

- A person participates in the political process by making
his/her opinions and beliefs known.
- An example of political participation is any activity
concerning the government.
