Job Ready Program

Employment Verification Report - Cook

The Job Ready Program (JRP) is a four-step employment-based skills assessment program that provides
international student graduates with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and job readiness in an
Australian workplace, relevant to their nominated occupation before they apply for migration to Australia.

TRA is required to check whether a workplace and employment arrangement provides sufficient opportunity
for a participant to develop skills in their nominated occupation. To assist with this process this Employment
Verification Report (EVR) must be completed by the participant’s employer and/or supervisor. You are
receiving this form because you have an employee applying for, or currently participating in the JRP. This
EVR is a part of the participant’s JRP employment registration processes, which cannot be processed by TRA
without the completed form.

If you have any questions about the form or JRP please phone email jrpenquiries@education.gov.au.

Tasks Performed by Participant

The table below contains a series of questions about the work the participant may do in your workplace in
the nominated occupation of a COOK. You should complete the tables by indicating the tasks and duties
undertaken; the tools and equipment used; and how the work involved others (such as other workers or
supervisor).
It is important that your responses relate to the work being undertaken done in this workplace. The EVR will
be used by an assessor when they conduct the workplace assessment to determine if the participant is
working at an appropriate skill level.
Cooks prepare, season and cook food in dining and catering establishments. The range of duties carried out
by cooks varies depending on where they work. In hotels, clubs, and restaurants, cooks often specialise in
preparing and cooking a particular type of food. They may also specialise in national cuisine (e.g. Thai,
Vietnamese, French, Indian or Italian). Other specialisations include entrees, desserts, international and
pastry cooking.
You should respond to each question with ‘yes’, ‘no’, ‘not yet’, or ‘developing’. You can provide more
information in the comments column.
