Name of the work: "Design, Drawing, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 25KV A.C.
Single Phase Overhead Equipment, LT Supply Transformer & Switching Station at Memary &
Modification of Shaktigarh Switching Station in Connection with Construction of 3rd Line
between Bainchi (Excl.) and Palsit (Incl.) in Howrah Division of Eastern Railway".
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Explanatory Notes for various items of work in various schedules and sections at ireps.gov.in
are given below. The schedules/ item numbers mentioned throughout this explanatory notes are
indicative only and may not have any resemblance to the schedules / item numbers/ serial
numbers of the items mentioned at ireps.gov.in. The nomenclature/ heading of the items at
ireps.gov.in are to be located in this document to figure out the explanation of respective
items.
2(a) Wherever an item of work covers supply of materials and/or erection, such items shall include
all bolts, nuts, lock nuts, washers etc.
(b) The equipment and materials to be supplied by the contractors against various items should
conform to RDSO’s/CORE’s latest specification and drawings. All OHE components including 25KV
insulators and steel structures will be inspected by M/s. RITES. However, in exceptional cases, the
materials will be inspected by the consignee with the prior approval of Railway. All the
materials/equipments should be procured by the contractor from RDSO/CORE approved source only
(as mentioned in Part-I: regular source and not from Part-II: development source).
3. Erection of any item/equipment, whether supplied by the contractor or by the Railway will
include proper connecting, testing, commissioning and bringing the equipment into operation in
accordance with the satisfaction of the Railway.
4. Special notes for measurements are included in this chapter under various items, where
necessary.
5. Reconciliation of materials supplied by the Railway:
(a) The following procedure shall be adopted for the final reconciliation of the various
equipments, materials, fittings and conductors supplied by the Railway.
(b) All the materials supplied by the Railway shall be correctly accounted for and quantities
reconciled on completion of the work by the contractor. On completion of the work all surplus
materials supplied by the Railway together with ones found defective or that have become defective or
broken on account of defective materials and/or workmanship shall be returned to Railways by the
contractor.
(c) Other equipments, fittings and components:
The Railways will supply the requirement of the various other equipments, components and
materials listed in Part-XI of Chapter-VII. If there are any shortages during final reconciliation, their
cost will be recovered by the Railway from the contractor at the prices inclusive of all charges as
specified in the note below.
NOTE: If there are any shortages during final reconciliation, their cost will be recovered by the
Railway from the contractor at the issue rate or market rate prevailing at the time of supply, whichever
is higher plus 5% on account of initial freight, 2% on account of incidental charges together with
supervision charges at 12.5% of the total cost inclusive of material freight and incidental charges.
Freight between the Railways source of supply and the contractor’s depot or rail head shall be to the
contractors account.
6. For proper & smooth execution of Electrification project, following are to be ensured by the
successful tenderer failing which action may be taken as per provision laid down at G.C.C. clause
no.62:
1. Provision of Personal Computer with Operator - 01 No.
2. Motorised Machine with operator for making of holes on Rail to provide Bonds - 01 No.
3. Ratchet Machine with operator for making of holes on Rail to provide Bonds - 02 Nos.
4. Provision of Motorized Trolley for inspection work - 01 No.

5. Provision of Lighting arrangements on Tower Wagon - As required.
6. 2500Volt Meggar and 500Volt Earth Tester duly calibrated - 01 each.
7. Thermometer for measuring ambient temperature - 02 Nos.
8. Submission of Bar Chart indicating item wise targets for completion within 07 days of receipt
of LOA.
9. Provision of daily progress through SMS to Dy.CEE/CON & Executive Officer.
10. Availability of copy of material order and proof of payment made to manufacturer against the
same along with weekly report regarding material position.
11. Monthly reconciliation of material requirement with actual site condition.
12. Minimum deployment of manpower should be as under:
a) Foundation gang 02 Nos. each comprising of adequate workmen based on site condition.
b) OHE gang 02 Nos. each comprising of skilled 02 Nos., semi-skilled 02 Nos. and unskilled 08
Nos. of workmen.
c) Separate gang for bonding and earthing works to be deployed comprising of 02 skilled and 06
semi-skilled/un-skilled workmen.
d) Separate gang to be deployed for undertaking Switching Station work comprising of 03
skilled, 03 semi-skilled & 06 unskilled workmen.
e) During Pre-NI/NI or Night work in existing line with power block, adequate no. of skilled, un-
skilled workmen to be provided as per programme and work involvement.
13. Following T&P items of working condition to be deployed:
a) Aluminium ladder for OHE/Switching Station works - 04 Nos.
b) Tirfor: 1.5 Tonne – 04 Nos., 2 Tonne- 02 Nos.
c) Pull lift- 02 Nos.
d) Auto-clamp, Sling, Rope, D-shakle as per requirement.
e) Roller/kupi as per requirement.
f) Bolt cutter – 02 Nos.
g) Hand Tool set – 04 Sets.
h) Gas-cutter - 01 Set.

SECTION –I (GENERAL)
Under Non Power Block
Item No.1: Foot by foot survey & preparation of OHE pegging plan.
The price shall cover on a flat rate basis. The price shall cover survey, investigation of soil bearing
pressure, preparation of OHE pegging plan for suitable regulated type OHE indicating all locations
with chainage by conducting foot by foot survey of the section and preparation of survey report in all
respect with design aspect. The contractor has to submit soil investigation report before preparation of
the drawings. All the drawings are to be prepared on Auto CAD with multicolor impression. The
price shall cover supply of original tracing and 08 Nos. ammonia prints after approval of original
tracing by the competent authority.
Item No.2: Preparation of design and drawing of overhead equipment.
The price shall cover submission of design and drawing of overhead equipments suitable for regulated
type indicating location of structures, chainage, type of foundation, type of mast, stagger, versine,
implantation and all location covering engineering object like bridge, culvert, shed, cabin station
building, hut, shelter, shed, road, walls, pathways etc. and signal pole throughout the section. All the
drawings are to be prepared on Auto CAD with multicolor impression. The price shall also include
the following.
(i) Making minor modification with the approval of the purchaser of the layout of structures and
overhead equipment, if necessary and submission of overhead equipment layout plans, including
stagger, location of cut in insulators etc. The layout drawing submitted should also show the OHE
layout of existing track/s in the vicinity if any.
(ii) Preparation of cross section drawings and structure erection drawings for each structure locations.
(iii) Choice of type and size of foundations to suit soil and loading conditions, except for the ones
which are considered as ‘Works under other agencies’
(iv) Preparation of long section drawings of overhead equipment where such drawings are required
including detailed study of over line structures such as foot over bridges, road over bridges etc. for
maintaining the specified height of contact wire and requisite clearance.
(v) Preparation of other designs and drawings including drawings of small parts steel work (other than
those for which R.D.S.O st 2.1.49 standard drawings are available) and detailed designs for L.T.
supply transformer stations.
(vi) Supply of copies of all drawings, including copies of Ammonia Prints and finally “As erected
drawings” are to be supplied along with original tracing are as follows:
(a) Layout Plan-12 copies Ammonia Print (Coloured as per tracing by colour pencil or any ink).
(b) SED- 08 copies Ammonia Print
(c) Special drawings - 08 copies.
(d) OHE Profile drawings - 08 copies.
The price shall also include supply of working rule diagram and sectioning diagram one copy each in
tracing paper and 10 copies each in Ammonia print. Data for the diagram will be supplied by Railway
during execution.
As Erected OHE layout plans, SED and other relevant drawings shall be supplied in 4 sets including 2
Sets of RTF.
All as erected drawings shall also be submitted in Compact Disk (CD) in duplicate.
All other requirements specified in chapter – VII, part-V should be complied.
In the case of preparation of the overhead equipment pegging plans by the purchaser, if there is delay
for any part of the section, the contractor may be asked to prepare pegging plans for the section. No
extra payment will be made for the preparation of such pegging plans. The total length of track for
which the contractor may be asked to prepare such pegging plans, will not exceed 2% of the final total
quantity against this item.
This price shall also cover soil investigation and testing in an approved manner.
NOTES FOR MEASUREMENT: For the purpose of payment against this item, the length of track
shall be measured as under.

1. General: By the difference in the chainages of the length under consideration, as incorporated in the
lay out plans.
2. Turnouts: The track taking off shall be deemed as starting from the toe of the switch of the turnout.
3. Crossovers: The length of track shall be taken as the difference in the chainages of the toes of
switches of the two turnouts constituting the cross over.
4. Diamond crossing with or without slips: The two tracks crossing each other shall be measured
independently as per note 1 above as though there were no crossing. No extra shall be provided for
slip points.
5. Dead ends and tops of loops: The lengths for payment under this item shall be up to the chainage of
anchor mast of the terminating OHE.
Item No.3: Preparation and submission of designs and drawings for switching station.
The price shall cover on a flat rate basis switching station survey, investigation of soil bearing pressure
and the following drawings:
Preparation and submission of design and drawings for Switching Stations:
(i) Location Plan including schematic arrangement.
(ii) General arrangement drawing including busbar layout.
(iii) Foundation lay out drawing showing X-sectional details where ever necessary.
(iv) Cable trench lay out drawing with X-sectional details.
(v) Structural lay out drawing.
(vi) Details drawings of structural components & fittings.
(vii) Cable run lay out drawings
(viii) Earthing lay out drawings.
(ix) Fencing lay out drawings showing details of upright fittings.
All the above drawings are to be prepared on AUTO-CAD with multi colour impression (where ever
necessary).
Submission of Copies of drawings.
WORKING DRAWING COMPLETION DRG.

All Ammonia Prints should be submitted in folded manner such that the overall size of the fold should
not exceed A4 size.
Item No.4(a) & (b): Supply and erection of 10 KVA, 25 KV/240 V, auxiliary transformer with
drop out fuse switch assembly complete and anti climbing device.
The price shall cover supply and erection of 10 KVA LT supply transformer complete with terminal
connectors on a mast or gantry including 25KV drop out fuse switch assembly complete as per
RDSO’s Specification No. ETI/PSI/15 (8/03). The price shall also cover supply and erection of an
enameled number plate of approved design. The price shall also cover oil filtration and pre-
commissioning test as approved by the Railways. The contractor shall make his own arrangement for
oil filtration equipment as well as power supply required for the same. All necessary tools,
equipments, instruments required for carrying out oil filtration/ checks/ tests and commissioning shall
be arranged by the contractor. The cost includes connection of the transformer body with earth &
painting of the transformer.
The price shall cover supply and erection of 25 KV D.O fuse switch assembly complete with all
mounting accessories and terminal connectors as required and standard anti-climbing device. The
price shall not include erection of small parts steel work.

Item No.5(a) & (b): Supply, erection, testing & commissioning of 25KV vacuum type circuit
breaker:
The price shall cover supply, erection, testing & commissioning of 25 KV single pole vacuum circuit
Breaker as per RDSO’s Specification No. TI/SPC/PSI/CB/0000 with A&C slip No.1 to 5 complete
with mechanism, all fittings, and accessories including terminal box on foundation block and
mounting of other accessories in their respective places. It shall also cover testing & commissioning of
the circuit breaker. The price shall also cover the supply and erection of an enameled number plate.
The contractor shall make his own arrangement for power supply required for testing purpose. All
necessary tools, equipments, instruments required for carrying out necessary checks and tests and
commissioning shall be arranged by the contractor. Make of the vacuum circuit breaker will be Allind
or any RDSO/CORE approved supplier.
Item No.6(a) & (b): Supply, erection, testing & commissioning of 25KV vacuum type
Interruptor:
The price shall cover supply and erection of vacuum type interruptor complete with supporting frame-
work and terminal connectors as per RDSO’s Specification No. ETI/PSI/167 (9/97) with A&C slip
No.1 to 2. The price for erection shall include alignment and grouting of the interruptor on its
foundation block and mounting of accessories, if any, in their respective positions. The price shall also
cover supply and erection of enameled number plates. All necessary tools, equipments, instruments
including power supply required for carrying out necessary checks, tests and commissioning shall be
arranged by the contractor.
Item No.7(a) & (b): Supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 25KV potential transformers
type – I.
The price shall cover supply and erection of 25KV/110V potential transformer complete with all
fittings and accessories as per RDSO specification No. TI/SPC/PSI/PTS/0990 with A&C slip No.1 to
5 including terminal connectors and fixing bolts. The price for erection shall include proper alignment
of the transformer in position.
The price shall also cover the supply and erection of an enameled number plate and fixing bolts. The
price shall not include the cost of any small parts steel work.
Item No.8(a) & (b): Supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 25KV potential transformers
type –II.
The price shall cover supply and erection and connecting up of a 25KV/100V Potential Transformer
complete with all fittings and accessories as per RDSO specification No. TI/SPC/PSI/PTS/0990 with
A&C slip No.1 to 5 including terminal connectors and all necessary connections for commissioning
the PT. It shall also include mounting of the transformer in position and supply and erection of an
enameled number plate. The price for erection shall include proper alignment of the transformer in
position.
The price shall also cover the supply and erection of an enameled number plate and fixing bolts. The
Item No.9(a) & (b): Supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 25KV current Transformer.
The price shall cover supply and erection of a 25 KV Current Transformer (1500-750/5A) for
capacitor bank complete with all fittings and accessories including terminal connectors and all
necessity circuitry as per RDSO’S specification No. ETI/ PSI/90(6/95) with A&C slip No.1 to 8. It
shall also include mounting of the transformer in position and supply and erection of an enameled
number plate.
Item No.10(a) & (b): Supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 42KV lightning arrester
(Gapless type) with insulating base and surge monitor.
The price shall cover supply & erection of 42 KV gapless type lightening arrestor complete with
insulating base and surge monitor & all fittings and accessories as per RDSO’S specification no.
TI/SPC/PSI/MOGTLA/0100(07/2010), including terminal connectors. The cost of supply and erection
shall include proper alignment of the lightening arrestors in position. The price shall not cover supply
and erection of cadmium copper jumper (65) which will be paid under item no. 17 of Section-IV. The

Item No.11(a) & (b): Supply, erection and commissioning of Lead acid type battery 110V, 40AH.
The price shall cover supply and erection of 110 V, 40 AH, Lead acid type battery complete with
stand, accessories and tool boards conform to RDSO specification No. RDSO/PE/SPEC/TL/0040-
2003 (Rev-0) with A&C Slip 1. The price shall include installation, connecting up cells, charging &
commissioning of the batteries.
Item No.12(a) & (b): Supply, erection and commissioning of battery charger for 110V, 40AH
battery.
The price shall cover supply and erection of a battery charger for 110V, 40AH, Lead acid type battery
complete with connecting cable & 3 pin top for connection to 230V A.C. supply conform to RDSO
specification No. ETI/PSI/24(6/81) or latest. The price for erection shall include mounting of the
charger in position & connecting it up to the 230 V A.C. supply point.
Item No.13(a) & (b): Supply & Erection of 110V, 200AH Low Maintenance Lead Acid Batteries.
The price shall cover supply and erection of a 110V, 200Ah low maintenance lead acid battery
complete with stand and accessories as mentioned in relevant specification and a tool board. The price
for erection shall include installation, connecting up, charging and commissioning of the battery. 110V
Low Maintenance Lead Acid Batteries shall conform to RDSO specification No.
RDSO/PE/SPEC/TL/0040-2003(Rev-0) with A&C Slip 1(09/2005) or latest
Item No.14(a) & (b): Supply & Erection of Battery Chargers for 110V, 200AH Low
Maintenance Lead Acid Batteries.
The price shall cover supply and erection, connecting up and commissioning of battery charger for
charging 110V, 200Ahr Low Maintenance Lead Acid battery. The price for erection shall include
grouting of the charger in position or mounting it on the wall and connecting it to 240V single phase
A.C. supply. Battery Chargers for 110V Low Maintenance Lead Acid Batteries shall conform to
RDSO specification No. ETI/PSI/24(6/81) or latest.
Item No.15(a) & (b): Supply & erection of terminal board in control cubicle.
The price shall cover supply and erection of a wall mounted terminal board with six numbers of two-
way terminal blocks for connecting the cables from the outdoor equipment of a switching station as
per RDSO specification No.: ETI/PSI/501.
Item No.16(a) & (b): Supply & erection of 110V DC distribution board.
The price shall cover supply & erection of 110V DC distribution board in the control room conform to
RDSO specification No. ETI/PSI/29(12/79) Rev-1 (Feb’93). The price shall include the grouting of
the frame work of the distributing board in position or mounting it on the wall and necessary
connection.
Item No.17(a) & (b): Supply & erection of 240V AC distribution board.
The price shall cover supply and erection of 240 V AC distribution board in the control cubicle
conform to RDSO specification No. ETI/PSI/29(12/79) Rev-1 (Feb’93). It shall include the grouting
of the frame work of the distributing board in position or mounting it on the wall and necessary
connection.
Item No.18(a) & (b): Supply & erection of Control & Relay Panel.
The price shall cover supply and erection of control and relay panel for the electrical equipments, such
as 25KV C.B. shunt capacitor, isolator etc. provided complete with all wiring, control switches,
meters, protective and auxiliary relays etc. including mimic panel conform to RDSO specification No.:
TI/SPC/PSI/PROTCT/6070(9/08). The price shall include alignment and grouting of the panels in
position. The price shall also include all necessary connection to bring the control board to operation.
It shall also include the cost of connecting the frame of each control panel to the earth bus inside the
control room. It shall also include supply, erection & connecting up (of single shock auto re-closing
equipments for 25KV circuit breaker along with the cost of supply & erection of suitable counters with
MHO distance protection of as well as instantaneous over current relay and auto re-closer devices.
Item No.19(a) & (b): Supply, erection and commissioning of RTU for Switching station.
The price shall cover supply of complete RTU with all components like CPU, DO cards, DI cards
connectors, opto coupler, intraposing contactor etc. for SP/SSP. The price shall cover erection of RTU

and all equipments/accessories required for the commissioning of RTU including change in software
at master station. The RTU shall be compatible to synchronize with the existing SCADA system at
RCC.
Item No.20: Supply & installation of cables.
Item No.20(i) (a) & (b): For control and indication (7 core x 2.5 sq. mm) copper.
The price shall cover supply, installation and connecting up of PVC insulated copper cables for control
and indication from the interrupters to the terminal Board .The price shall include supply & erection of
terminal connectors at both ends, if required and conduits where necessary.
Item No.20(ii) (a) & (b): For catenary indication (2 core x 2.5 sq. mm) copper.
The price shall include supply, installation and connecting up of PVC insulated copper cables for
catenary indications, between Potential transformers type-I and the terminal Board inside the control
cubicle. The price shall include supply & erection of terminal connectors at both the ends if required
and conduits to be embedded between the steel work based and the cable trench and shall include all
fastenings on mast and structural members to support them.
Item No.20(iii) (a) & (b): For heater supply (2 core x 4 sq. mm) alluminium.
The price shall cover supply, installation and connecting up of heater supply alluminium cable from
interruptor to interruptor or from interruptor to 230 V AC fuse box mounted on the wall inside the
control cubicle and from this fuse box to L.T. distribution board provided by the purchaser inside the
control cubicles. The price shall include cost of supply and erection of terminal connectors at each
end, if required, and conduits if any at the interruptor end.
Item No.20(iv) (a) & (b): For 110V D.C. supply (2 x 4 sq. mm) copper.
The price shall cover supply, installation and connecting up of PVC insulated copper cable between
110 V Battery Charger and battery, between battery & the D.C. fuse box and between the D.C. fuse
box and terminals board. The price shall include terminal connectors where ever required.
Item No.20(v) (a) & (b): For 240V A.C. supply (2 x 25 sq. mm) alluminium.
The price shall cover supply, installation and connecting up of alluminium cable between 110 V
Battery Charger and battery, between battery & the D.C. fuse box and between the D.C. fuse box and
terminals board. The price shall include terminal connectors where ever required.
Item No.21(a) & (b): Supply and erection of materials for termination of 25KV Copper feeder
wire.
The price shall cover supply and erection of all materials required for the termination of an all Copper
25KV feeder (SPIDER), including appropriate mast anchor fittings adjuster, strain clamp end fitting
excluding the 9 Tonne insulator assembly. However, the price shall cover erection of all materials
including the 9 Tonne insulator assembly.
Item No.22: Supply and erection of sectioning/schematic diagram board.
The price shall cover supply, painting, lettering and fixing of sectioning/schematic diagram board
made as per following specification.
Size-153 Cm. X 92 Cm., made of ply board of 4mm thick with sun mica sheet of 1mm thick covered
with Acrylic sheet secured with Aluminium angle bit and with hanging arrangement. The
sectioning/schematic diagram to be painted will be supplied by the purchaser. The entire drawing &
fixing on the wall is to be done as per instruction given by the purchaser’s engineer.
Item No.23: Supply and erection of shock treatment chart (laminated). Lamination thickness not
less than 200 micron.
The shock treatment chart should be colour printed on paper and duly laminated with lamination
thickness not less than 200 microns, of size 2’X3’ and pasted on a hard press board and be hanged on
wall as directed by the purchaser’s Engineers.
Item No.24: Supply and erection of key box for isolator.
The price shall cover supply and erection of a teak wood box duly varnished of suitable size with glass
cover fitted in teak wood frame hinged in the box with arrangement of providing lock. The inside of

the box should have provision for hanging of all the isolator keys separately. The price shall also cover
fixing of the box on suitable place on the wall, as indicated by purchaser engineer.
Item No.25: Erection of Neutral Section Conventional /PTFE type.
The price shall cover erection of PTFE/Conventional type neutral section as per RDSO Standard. The
price shall also cover necessary checking and adjustment of neutral section for smooth passage of
pantograph over the neutral section.
Item No.26: Supply & erection of First aid box.
The price shall cover supply and erection of First aid box of size 30 cm x 25 cm minimum.
Item No.27: Removal of SPS and insulator.
The price shall cover labour cost and tools & tackles require for removal of SPS and insulators in good
condition (wherever required) from the old location. The removed equipment shall be handed over to
the purchaser’s depot as specified above.
Item No. 28: Supply and fitment of ABC stored pressure type fire extinguisher as per IS: 13849,
dated: 1993 of capacity 5Kg. This should be wall mounted type.
The price shall cover supply of foam type fire extinguisher of ABC stored pressure type fire
extinguisher as per IS: 13849, dated: 1993 of capacity 5Kg. It should be of wall mounted type.
Erection shall include fitting of base stand on wall & fitting of fire extinguisher on the base stand.
Item No.29: Supply and fitment of fire bucket of capacity 9 ltr. This should be fixed in a stand
fixed on the ground filled with dry sand.
The price shall cover supply of fire bucket as per IS specification along with a hook suitable for
hanging up from a stand. The price shall also cover hanging the bucket duly filled with sand at stand
provided at the switching station.
Item No.30: Gravel carpeting with gravel size (12 mm.) in switching yard (10 cm. Thick)
including supply of gravel.
The price shall cover supply of 12 mm size gravel & transportation of the same to the site, its storage
& spreading the same in switchyard. The price shall also include dressing & leveling to make uniform
depth of 10 cm. of gravel.
Item No.31: Adjustment of OHE and Tower Wagon checking.
The price shall include the shifting of OHE load to the newly erected cantilever with supply of dropper
wire (as required) and necessary adjustment of erected OHE and also tower wagon checking for all the
newly erected section under non power block.
Item No.32: Dismantling of DP isolator.
The price shall cover dismantling of existing isolator from its base by opening fasteners from the
existing system. Care should be taken that during dismantling of isolator the other components should
not be dislocated. The dismantled equipment shall be handed over to the purchaser’s depot.
Item No.33: Dismantling of PT.
The price shall cover dismantling of existing PT from its base by opening fasteners from the existing
system. Care should be taken that during dismantling of PT, the other components should not be
dislocated. The dismantled equipment shall be handed over to the purchaser’s depot.
Item No.34: Dismantling of AT with DO fuse switch assembly.
The price shall cover dismantling of existing AT with DO fuse switch from its base by opening

be handed over to the purchaser’s depot.
Item No.39: Dismantling of guy rod assembly.
The price shall cover dismantling of guy rod assembly with its all accessories of various lengths
including guy rod fitting anchor bolt, nut washer and V bolt etc. The dismantled equipment shall be
handed over to the purchaser’s depot as specified above.
Item No.40: Dismantling of foundation.
The price shall include dismantling of any kind of foundation infringing for laying of track upto the
portion needed for insertion of sleeper. Price shall also include the clearing of site i.e. disposal of
dismantled concrete to safe distance. During pre-NI or NI work, the firm has to arrange JCB to
execute this work.
Item No.41: Cutting of old mast / Head span Mast.
The price shall cover the cutting of traction masts/Portal upright/Head span mast by using gas-cutter
only. Care should be taken at the time of execution of the work, no damage to Railway property takes
place. The cut masts shall be handed over to the purchaser’s depot. For cutting the mast necessary
arrangement and precautions have to be taken by the contractor beforehand. The work will have to be
carried out under non power block and as per the instruction of the purchaser.
Item No.42: Loading, unloading and transportation of Railway supply materials.
The price shall include the transportation cost of Railway supply materials from Railway stores at
Bandel/ Liluah/ Belur/ Sealdah/ Howrah to the work site by trucks/ trailors including loading and un-
loading charges. The price shall also include the labour charges and hiring of crane (if required) for
loading and unloading of Railway supply materials at Railway stores as well as at work site.
Under Power Block
Item No.43: Erection of 10 KVA, 25KV/240V, auxiliary transformer with drop out fuse switch
assembly complete and anti climbing device.
The price shall cover erection of Auxiliary Transformer with dropout fuse switch assembly complete,
anti-climbing device complete and other components required for this item.
Item No.44: Splicing and extension of anchored overhead equipment.
The price shall cover splicing of terminated overhead equipment for extension and consequent
adjustment of the affected equipment including cost of contact and catenary splice suitable for AC/AC
or AC/DC over head equipment. The dismantled equipment (excluding portions embedded in
concrete) shall be returned to the Purchaser’s Engineer. The cost of dismantling of overhead
equipment would be paid for under this item for the whole length of the anchoring span irrespective of
the physical position of the splices. The extended overhead equipment shall be deemed as starting
from the center line of the structure preceding the old terminating structure. The price shall also cover
cost of dismantling of equipment including terminations, tensioning devices, guy rod assemblies,
bracket assemblies and associated small parts steel work (excluding components embedded in
concrete). The work will have to be carried out under power block.

Item No.45: Adjustment of OHE and Tower Wagon checking.
The price shall include the shifting of OHE load to the newly erected cantilever with supply of dropper
wire (as required) and necessary adjustment of erected OHE and also tower wagon checking for all the
newly erected section under power block.

complete with all fittings and accessories including terminal box on foundation block and mounting of
other accessories in their respective places. It shall also cover testing & commissioning of the circuit
breaker. The price shall also cover erection of an enameled number plate. The contractor shall make
his own arrangement for power supply required for testing purpose. All necessary tools, equipments,
instruments required for carrying out necessary checks and tests and commissioning shall be arranged
by the contractor.
Item No.48: Erection, testing and commissioning of 25 KV potential transformers type –I.
The price shall cover erection, testing and connecting of a 25 KV/110V Potential Transformer
complete with all fittings and accessories as per relevant specifications including terminal connectors
and all necessary connections for commissioning the PT. It shall also include mounting of the
transformer in position and erection of an enameled number plate and fixing bolts. The price for
erection shall include proper alignment of the transformer in position.
Item No.49: Erection, testing and commissioning of 25 KV current Transformer.
The price shall cover erection of a 25 KV Current Transformer (1500-750/5A) for capacitor bank
complete with all fittings and accessories including terminal connectors and all necessity circuitry. It
shall also include mounting of the transformer in position and erection of an enameled number plate.
Item No.50: Erection of Neutral Section Conventional/PTFE type.
The price shall cover erection of all components required for erection of Conventional/PTFE type
Neutral Section including adjustment of the same under Power Block. The price includes the
transportation of the same from Bandel store to work site.
Item no.51: Dismantling of concrete portal structures including cutting of upright.
The price shall cover cost of dismantling and cutting of released portal/TTC boom including drop arm
from the section. The price shall also include the cost of Labour, tools and tackles required for such
dismantling. The dismantled material is to be stacked and handed over near work site as per
instructions given by the purchaser’s engineer.
Item No.52: Dismantling of overhead equipment including head span wire.
The price shall cover dismantling of existing OHE including SPS, termination assembly on the mast
including head span wire after taking proper precaution and the instruction of purchaser’s engineer.
The dismantling overhead equipment in complete with all respect shall be handed over to the
purchaser’s executive depot. This work will have to be carried out as per instruction of the purchaser’s
engineer. The contractor should have experienced men and tools and tackles for tackle this type of job.
The work will have to be carried out under power block and damage/ mal adjustment to the unaffected
portion of OHE will be allowed. In case the untouched OHE gets disturbed/affected, the contractor
will rectify the same at his cost and within time frame fixed by purchaser’s engineer. In case the
contractor fails to rectify the disturbed OHE within the time limit fixed by the purchaser’s engineer.
The purchaser will get the same rectified himself and recover the cost of rectification from the
tenderer.

Item no.56: Dismantling of guy rod assembly.
The price shall cover dismantling of guy rod assembly of various lengths including guy rod fitting
anchor bolt, nut washer and V bolt etc.
Item no.57: Dismantling of AT including DO fuse & anti-climbing device.
The price shall cover dismantling of 10 KVA LT supply transformer complete with terminal
connector, and all other component. The dismantling AT in complete with all respect shall be handed
over to purchaser Depot. These works will have to be carried out as per instruction of the purchaser
Engineer.
Item no.58: Dismantling of Termination fittings.
The price shall cover dismantling of all the parts of Terminal fittings. The dismantled equipment shall
be handed over to the purchaser’s depot as specified above.
Item no.59: Dismantling of portal/TTC boom including cutting of upright.
The price shall cover cost of dismantling and cutting of released portal/TTC boom including drop arm
from the section. The price shall also include the cost of Labour, tools and tackles required for such
dismantling. In case, during dismantling work the purchaser feels that services of a road crane will be
beneficial, then the same should be arranged by the tenderer. In such case, the tenderer will bear the
operational cost of the road crane including the cost of crane operator. If purchaser is considered to use
rail crane inescapable for easy and fast dismantling of TTC/portal, then in such case, the purchaser
will bear the operational cost of the crane including the cost of crane operator. Provided further that
failure to arrange a rail crane by the purchaser cannot be taken as a ground for extension of completion
period. The dismantled material is to be stacked and handed over near work site as per instructions
given by the purchaser’s engineer.
Item no.60: Dismantling of Section insulator assembly.
The price shall cover the cost of dismantling of a section insulator assembly complete with all its
accessories. The dismantled equipment shall be handed over to the purchaser’s depot. During

SECTION –II (CONCRETING)
Item No.1: Concrete for foundation & Plinth for:
Item No.1(i): In other than hard or rocky soil (M-15 type).
The price shall cover excavation, supply and handling of all materials and accessories, temporary
arrangements for excavation in hard soil and concrete/masonry drains/walls requiring use of Chisel
and Hammer. Casting concrete by using M-15 type foundation including frame work where necessary,
tamping of concrete, grouting of masts and finishing the top of concrete foundation or anchor blocks.
The price also includes dismantling of all connected temporary arrangements, back filling with earth
and compacting the same to the required height and width as per drawing to ensure safety of
foundation, confirming the expose height of foundation block to within 10 cm, and removal of soil.
The price also includes the cost of cements. All other requirements of Chapter -VII, Part-II should be
complied by the contractor. The price also includes the cost of temporary diversion of drain, if any,
and its rebuilding.
Item No.1(ii): In other than hard or rocky soil (M-20 type).
The price shall cover excavation, supply and handling of all materials and accessories, temporary
arrangements for excavation in hard soil and concrete/masonry drains/walls requiring use of Chisel

Cm. and removal of soil. The price shall also include the cost of cement.
Item No.1(iii): Reinforced concrete.
The price shall cover excavation and all reinforced concrete work for foundations including supply of
steel for reinforcement and other materials including bending, binding, laying of the reinforcement,
shoring where necessary, casting concrete including framework where necessary, grouting and
finishing the tops of foundation blocks. The price shall also include dismantling of all connected
temporary arrangements (including cable trench if required), back filling as required and removal of
soil. The price shall also cover all concrete works for foundation or anchor blocks on bridge piers,
irrespective of whether they are actually reinforced or not, and those for cast-in-site piles foundation
and counter weight foundations. Rails and fasteners required for counter weight foundations shall be
supplied by the purchaser free at the contractor’s depot or work spot according to the convenience of
the purchaser. The volume of cast-in-situ piles shall be added to the volume of foundation block for
the purpose of payment. Dowel bars as may be required for bond with bridge structures shall be
supplied and erected free of cost by the purchaser. Dowel bars will not be considered as reinforcement
for the purpose of this item. The price shall include the cost of cement and all accessories for
concreting.
NOTE: Nominal reinforcement will be necessary in black cotton soil foundations. Such nominally
reinforced foundations in black cotton soil will be payable under item 1(i). The steel for nominal
reinforcement will be arranged by the contractor and the concrete mixture shall, in such a case shall be
as for normal foundations 1:2:4 (see para 7.2.4)
Notes for item 1(i), (ii) & (iii).
1. The prices under item 1 shall be same for any shape or size of concrete blocks. In calculating the
individual volume of concrete, fraction of a cubic meter beyond the third decimal shall be rounded off
to the next nearest third decimal.
2. The prices under item 1 shall apply for concreting of all foundations for masts, gantries; portals
anchor blocks for guy rod.
3. For purpose of computation of volume of concrete under item 1, the volume of steel work
embedded in the foundation block and muff shall be ignored.
4. Cost of concrete will be paid for only under item 1.
5. For purpose of computation of volume of concrete under item 1, the volume of concrete shall
include the volume of sand and bitumen in sand cored foundation. However, for the purpose of

computation, of quantity of cement utilized in sand erected foundations, the volume of the sand and
bitumen used in core hole should be deducted from the total volume of the foundation.
6. For purposes of computation of volume of concrete the volume of each muff for all masts shall be
taken as 0.02 cu.m. except for masts with balance weight and for each column of portal, each head
span mast & 2 or 3 track cantilever masts, and special fabricated masts for which the volume of muff
shall be taken as 0.08 Cum irrespective of the size and shape of muff on a flat basis.
7. The prices under item 1(iii) shall also include the cost of concrete cable trenches and trench covers
at the switching stations as well as embankment of drain pipes, where required.
8. The prices under item 1(iii) shall also cover the cost of diversion of masonry / earth drain wherever
necessary for casting of foundations and will also cover cost of removal of infringement using chisel
and hammer.
9. The depth of excavation shall be measured from the formation level to the maximum excavated
point. The prices shall also include restoring of platform surface for formation on platform.
10. For the purpose of excavation, JCB has to be arranged by the firm.
11. The Make of cement used must be: ACC, Ambuja, Binani, Birla Gold, Century Gold, Lafarge and

The price shall cover cost of supply & erection, alignment and setting before grouting, wherever
required with galvanization of 1000 gm/Sq.mtr, of drop arms, standard super mast and suspension of
brackets for feeders and return conductor, dwarf mast or stub masts for anchoring, complete with
anchor plates drilled and welded in position, multiple cantilever cross arms, chairs, adopters for
bracket assemblies suitable for regulated type OHE and all other small part steel works, the erection of
which if carried out by the Contractor irrespective of whether they are supplied by the purchaser or the
contractor.
The price shall also cover cost of erection, alignment and setting before grouting, wherever required
for gantries/steel work for feeders for switching station, suspension brackets for feeders, and all other
small part steel work i.e. supporting steel work for isolator, PT, interrupter fuse switches, lightening
arrestors etc, the erection of which is carried out by the contractor irrespective of whether they are
supplied by the purchaser or the contractor. The prices shall also include supply and erection of
galvanized steel, bolts, nuts, washers wherever required as per the approved designs and drawings.
The calculated weight to be considered for payment under this item shall be included in relevant
drawings at the time of submitting designs.
For standard fabricated steel work for which R.D.S.O.’s approved drawings are available, the weight
of steel work as specified in R.D.S.O.’s drawings shall be considered for payment. However, in case
the unit sectional weight of any member indicated in R.D.S.O.’s drawing is not in conformity with the
unit sectional weight as per the latest specification, the weight of the fabricated steel work shall be
calculated on the basis of latest B.I.S. specification and the same will be considered for payment. For
the non-standard fabricated steel work, the weight to be considered for payment under this item shall
be indicated in the relevant drawing as submitted for approval of the purchaser. The basis of weight
will be as per latest sectional weight drawing.
Note:
1. For the purpose of payment against items 1, weight of structures or fabricated steel work will
be calculated according to the weight of black steel given in section books for the lengths of various
members shown in the approved drawings. There will be no addition for increased weight due to
galvanising or painting or weld material or reduction for holes or skew cuts.
2. The rates against item 1 shall be applicable to the erection of small part steel work, which are
not covered under the various other items of work. Unless specifically indicated none of the other
items of work shall include the cost of supply and / or erection of small part steel work, which will
invariably be paid for under item. 1.
3. All gantries, supporting steel structures and small parts steel work shall be supplied by the
contractor. The terms “small parts steel” work is meant to cover fabricated steel work made from
rolled steel sections such as cross-beams, base-plates, backing angles, knee angles etc.
4. The steel supporting frames of equipment supplied along with the equipment will not be
reckoned for purposes of payment under this item unless specifically indicated.
Item No.4 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of guy rod assembly.
The price shall cover supply and erection of guy rod assembly of various lengths for traction masts,
feeder line towers or supports complete with mast guy rod fittings, guy rod with adjustments and part/s
with grouted in the anchor block. The price shall not include the cost of supply and erection of a dwarf
or stub mast with anchor plates drilled and welded in position, where required, for anchorage, and
small parts steel work, complete with bolts and nuts etc., if any for attaching the mast guy rod fittings

no: TI/DRG./OHE/ATD/RDSO/00001/99/1, including adjustor (as required by the purchaser) with
double strap assembly and normal / anti theft guide tube assembly, the supply of regulating equipment
and stainless steel wire rope required at the regulating equipment and small part steel work, if any. The
price shall also cover adjustment of the entire regulating equipment, painting of balance weight with
two coats of aluminium paint. The price shall not include supply and erection of termination, which
will be paid under item no.7 & 8 of this Section.
Item No.7(i) & (ii): Supply & Erection of materials for termination of double overhead
equipment (Excluding 9 tonne insulator).
The price shall cover supply of all materials required for the termination of double OHE (regulated)
except 9 tonne insulator. The price shall cover erection of all materials required for termination of
double OHE including 9 tonne insulator.
Note: To carry out the OHE modification works on existing DC type OHE, a few quantity of
termination arrangement suitable for termination of DC OHE will be required. The cost of termination
includes the cost of supply & erection of these DC type arrangements also.
Item No.8(i) & (ii): Supply & Erection of materials for termination of single overhead
equipment (Excluding 9 tonne insulator).
The price shall cover supply of all materials required for the termination of single OHE (regulated)
except 9 tonne insulator. The price shall cover erection of all materials required for termination of
single OHE including 9 tonne insulator.

Item No.12 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of transverse and special bond.
The price shall cover supply of all materials including mild steel flats (40x6 mm.) fasteners etc.
required to provide transverse bonds connecting rails of the same / adjacent tracks at the locations to
be specified by the Purchaser. The price shall also cover the supply of all materials including mild
steel flat to provide special bonds at a level crossing, foot over / road bridge/ protective screen,
fencing, bridge, bridge girder etc. for which the location will be indicated by the Purchaser. The price
shall include shaping and drilling of the bond & rail and erection of all materials including the bond.
Item No.13 (i) & (ii): Supply & erection of a structure bond of MS flat size 50mmX6mm for
switching station.
The price shall cover supply and erection of all materials including M.S. flat size 50 mm x 6 mm
required to provide a structure bond connecting a traction mast or structures to the nearest non- track
circuited rail or earth electrode including all fasteners at both ends. The price shall include shaping and
drilling of the bond and erection of all materials including the bond. The price shall also include
provision of heat shrinkable PVC tube for structure bond under track circuited rail. This would also

Item No.14 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of earth bus of MS flat size 50 mm x 6 mm for
switching station.
The price shall cover supply and installation of all materials including 50 mm x 6 mm mild steel flats
for providing earth bus. The price shall also cover erection of earth bus at a depth of 300mm below
ground level painted with two coats of Red Oxide Zinc Chromate primer to IS 2074 and two finishing
Coats of Bitumen 85/25 blown grade and buried at a depth of 50 Cm below ground level. The price
shall also cover connection of the earth bus to earth electrodes and to various floor or wall mounted
equipments or structures to be earthed. It shall also cover the cost of making recesses in concrete
foundation blocks or floors or cubicles and covering them up. The connection of earth strips to each
other shall be made either by riveting or by welding. The connection of earth stripes to various
equipments, structures or fencing posts shall be made with G.I. bolts & nuts & spring washer/lock
nuts.
Item No.15: Erection of Buried rail (Rail will be supplied by the Purchaser).
The price shall cover erection of buried rail as per RDSO’s approved drawing including welding of
earth lead to buried rail (Rail piece will be supplied by Railway). The price shall also cover all
fastenings required for this work including transportation cost of rail piece from concern PWI/Store to
work site.

Item No.16: Supply and erection of a single earth electrode with earth pit box cover complete.
The price shall cover supply of earth electrode conforming to RDSO’s drg no. ETI/OHE/P/7020, mod-
3, lugs and MS flat of minimum size (40 mm x 6mm for OHE and 50 mm x 6mm for Switching
station) of required length. The price shall cover erection of earth electrode by driving or otherwise
complete with construction of concrete box & cover, earthing the structure/equipment with MS Flat
conforming the code for bonding and earthing for 25 KV A.C. 50 Hz. Single phase traction System
“conforming to RDSO’s code no. ETI/OHE/71/(11/90) A&C No. 2(3/93). The price shall cover filling
of charcoal & salt in earth pit & supply and erection of all additional materials required for embedding
the earth pipe as per RDSO specification. Value of earth resistance to be painted over the top of earth
pit box with yellow paint. The top cover should have proper lifting handle.
Item No.17 (i) & (ii): Supply & erection of pull-off arrangement for one OHE.
The price shall cover supply of all components required for a pull-off arrangement to pull one
equipment only, complete with steady arm, contact wire swivel clip and fittings and solid core
insulator but excluding conductor. The price shall also cover the erection of all components including
solid core insulators, small jumpers and conductors.
Item No.18: Supply and erection of various types of Caution boards/name plate etc. including
schematic diagram board (To be supplied as per RDSO specification).
The price shall cover supply, painting, lettering and fixing of various types of 25 KV caution
board/name plate including schematic diagram board under these items is to be supplied & erected as
per RDSO’s specification and/or as per instruction of purchaser’s engineer. The price shall also cover
for supply and erection of all accessories for all type of boards.
Item No.19 (i) & (ii): Supply and Erection of Number plate.
The price shall cover Supply and Erection of enameled Number plate (1 no. Retro-reflective type per
Km.) for locations of existing line to be converted as DN/UP line. The price shall include supply of
number plate as per RDSO specification and nut, bolt etc whichever is required for fixing the number
plate.
Item No.20 (i) & (ii): Supply & erection of fencing panel for switching station.
The price shall cover supply & erection of fencing panels painted with two coats of red oxide zinc
chromates primer to IS 2074: 1979 and finished with two coats of Aluminium paint. The price shall
not include supply and erection of fencing up-rights, anti-climbing devices but shall include the cost of
fasteners The price shall be for a meter length of the panels 2.4 meter height measured in the plan view
of the appropriate approved drawings.
Item no.21 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of fencing upright for switching station.
The price shall cover supply and erection of fencing uprights, painted with two coats of red oxide zinc
chromate primer to IS 2074:1979 and finished with two coats of Aluminium paint. The price shall be
on the basis of black weight of the steel with no deduction for holes or skew cut or increase for weld
materials.
Item No.22 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of anti-climbing device for switching station.
The price shall cover supply and erection of an anti-climbing device consisting of galvanized steel
fixtures mounted on the fencing panel as per approved design. The price shall be per meter length of
the panel. The anti-climbing device will be of barbed wire consisting of 3 layers of runs.
Under Power Block
Item No.23: Erection of OHE masts including main mast of switching station.
The price shall cover erection, adjustment and leveling of traction masts including main mast of
switching station as per the instruction of purchaser’s engineer. The work will have to be carried out
with all precautions. The work will have to be carried out under power block and all safety precautions
for the working personnel should be ensured by the contractor.
Item No.24: Erection of TTC/Portals.
The price shall cover erection of TTC/portal including boom. The price shall also include manual
erection, alignment and setting, cost of labour, tools and tackle required for such erection work under
power block. In case, during the execution of work the purchaser feels that services of a road crane

will be beneficial, then the same should be arranged by the tenderer. In such case, the tenderer will
bear the operational cost of the road crane including the cost of crane operator. If purchaser is
considered to use rail crane inescapable for easy and fast erection of TTC/portal, then in such case, the
purchaser will bear the operational cost of the crane including the cost of crane operator. Provided
further that failure to arrange a rail crane by the purchaser cannot be taken as a ground for extension of
completion period.
Item No.25: Erection of fabricated steel structures (SPS) other than Mast/TTC/Portal for OHE
& PSI works.
The price shall cover cost of erection, alignment and setting before grouting wherever required of drop
arms, standard super mast and suspension of brackets for feeder and return conductor, dwarf mast or
stub mast for anchoring complete with anchor plated drilled and welded in position, multiple
cantilever cross arm, adopters for bracket assemblies and all other small part still work, the erection of
which is carried out by the contractor irrespective of whether they are supplied by the purchaser or the
contractor. The price shall also cover the cost of erection of all fabricated steel works on the traction
mast including galvanized bolts, nut, fasteners where ever required as per approved design and
drawings. During erection of SPS, if power block is required on critical locations, the purchaser will
permit the same.
Item No.26: Erection of Guy Rod assembly.
The prices shall cover erection of guy rod assembly of various lengths for traction masts complete
with mast guy rod fittings, guy rod with adjustment and parts be grouted in the anchor block.
Item No.27: Erection of single bracket assembly.
The price shall cover erection of cantilever assembly as per site requirement. The cost of erection shall
include erection of stay and bracket insulators also.
Item No.28: Erection of regulating equipment (3 pulley type) with normal counter weight
assembly.
The price shall cover erection of 3 pulley type regulating equipment and counter weight assembly
including 9-Ton adjuster with double strap assembly, anti theft guide tube assembly, hex tie rod and
other necessary equipment excluding SPS and fasteners. This shall also cover adjustment of entire
regulating equipment assembly.
Item no.29: Erection of materials for termination of double overhead equipment conductor.
The price shall cover erection of all materials necessary for the termination of double conductor
overhead equipment or terminating wire on a traction mast or structure, including appropriate mast
anchor fittings clevis assembly adjuster, anchor double straps, ending clamp for the catenary or contact
wire or terminating wire and fittings and including 9 tonne insulator assembly and terminating wire, if
any. The price shall cover erection of all materials including the 9 tonne insulator assembly and
terminating wire, if any.
Item no.30: Erection of materials for termination of single overhead equipment conductor.

relevant RDSO specification No.ETI/OHE/50(6/97). The price shall include the cost of transportation
and loading/unloading of drums on reel wagon. The offerer should also indicate his competitive price
for this item.
Item No.2: Supply of hard drawn grooved copper contact wire (107 sq.mm.).
The price shall cover cost of Supply of hard drawn grooved copper contact wire (107 sq.mm)
continuous cast as per RDSO specification No.ETI/OHE/76(6/97). The price shall include the cost of
transportation and loading/unloading of drums on reel wagon. The offerer should also indicate his
competitive price for this item.
Item No.3 (i) & (ii): Supply and Erection of overhead equipment.
The price shall cover the erection of contact wire, catenary wires and Supply & Erection of clamps and
droppers, C-jumpers, pins, split pins, clips suitable for regulated OHE. The price shall also cover
supply of all components including dropper clips, parallel clamps for C-jumpers and splices (where
their use is approved), but excluding SPS with bolts and nuts etc. and termination (which will be paid
for under item No.7 & 8 of Section-III). The price shall include provision of droppers including clips,
enameled number plates (01 no. Retro-reflective type per Km.) on traction masts/structures, painting
of setting distance of masts/structures and rail levels on masts/ structures. The price shall exclude
small parts steel works complete with bolts and nuts for attachment of enameled number plates to
masts/structures.
The price shall include supply and fixing of enameled number plate (01 no. Retro-reflective number
plate per Km.) including nut/bolts whichever required for fixing for new line.
The contractor shall arrange ladder trolley for OHE adjustment work at their own cost. In case ladder

crossing, overlaps or neutral section, including supply of 105 sq. mm. jumper wire. The price shall
cover erection of all materials including jumper wire and all adjustments required at turnouts,
crossings, overlap and neutral sections.
Note: For modification work on existing DC type OHE, supply & erection of a few quantities of OHE
items viz. PG etc. suitable for DC type of OHE may be required. The cost of supply & erection of

Item No.5 (i) & (ii): Supply and erection of 25KV single pole isolator without earth contact
assembly.
The price for the item shall cover supply and erection of isolator switches of approved make without
earth contact assembly complete with arching horns, operating rods, operating rod guide, operating rod
insulator, mounting base, integral locks and 25 KV solid core post insulators to support the isolator.
The price shall cover erection of large copper jumper including all accessories. The rating of isolator
shall be 1600 amps.
The price shall also cover supply and erection of a number plate of approved design for each isolator.
The price shall not include supply and erection of small parts steel work complete with bolts and nuts
etc. for support of isolators and for support of operating rods or gantries/masts, and insulator to
support jumper and jumper connectors.
Item No.6 (i) & (ii): Supply, erection and commissioning of 25KV double pole isolator with earth
contact assembly.
The price shall cover supply and erection of a double pole isolator complete with earth contact
assembly, mounting base, operating rod and operating rod guides, operating rod insulator required for
the operation of the isolator with earth contact assembly. The price shall also cover supply and
erection of ALCU Strips, a pad locks and the number plate of approved design for each isolator. The
price shall not include supply and erection of small parts steel works for support of isolator and for
support of operating rods on gantries masts. The price of supply and erection of post insulator required
for 25KV DP isolator will be paid under item no. 8(i) of Section-V. The rating of isolator shall be
1600 amps.
The price shall cover supply and erection of an interlocking mechanism between interrupter and the
associated double pole isolator for isolating and to permit working of an interrupter and an isolator in a
desired sequence.
Item No.7: Supply of Jumper wire.
(i) Supply of 50 sq. mm. Copper jumper.
The price shall cover supply of 50 sq.mm. flexible Copper jumper in mtr. for “Anti-theft” and “F”

Item No.10: Supply of Insulated Catenary wire.
The price shall cover supply of insulated catenary wire piece under over-line structures (FOB, ROB
etc.) as indicated by the Railway’s engineer in meter.
Item No.11: Erection of Insulated Catenary wire piece.
The price shall cover erection of insulated catenary wire piece under over-line structures (FOB, ROB
etc.) as indicated by the Railway’s engineer, including supply and erection of all necessary fittings for
fixing of the Insulated catenary wire piece on OHE, by replacing the portion of catenary wire as per
standard system.
Item No.12(i) & (ii): Supply & erection of 25KV Copper feeder wire/cross feeder wire/large span
wire.
The price shall cover supply & erection of 25KV Copper feeder wire/cross feeder wire/large span wire
of size 150 Sq. mm./130 Sq.mm. as required made of a single all Copper bare, hard drawn conductor
(spider). The price shall also include the cost of feeder suspension assembly including all accessories.
The price shall not include the cost of termination (which will be paid for under item no.7 & 8 of
Section-III for OHE work and item no.21 of Section-I for switching station work) and small parts steel
works, complete with bolts, nuts etc. if any. The price shall also cover on a flat rate basis, the cost of
supply of splices to the extent required.

overlaps (insulated or un-insulated) including overlaps, knuckle or crossing equipment at a turnout, or
a diamond crossing and parallel clamps for jumper connections between two sets of over head
equipment conductor at a turnout, diamond crossing, overlaps or neutral section but excluding jumper
wire & insulator. The price shall cover erection of all materials including jumper wire, insulators and
all adjustments required at turnouts, diamond crossings, overlaps and neutral sections so as to make
the track fit for electric traffic movement.
Item no.20: Erection of 25 KV Single pole isolator without earth contact assembly.
The prices shall cover erection of single pole 25 KV isolator switch of approved make, complete with
arcing horns, operating rods, operating rod guides, operating rod insulator mounting base, integral
locks, insulators and Large jumpers.
Item no.21: Erection of copper jumpers.
The price shall cover on a flat rate basis cost of the erection of all components and fittings required for
providing a flexible copper jumper connection including parallel clamps, bimetallic and ALCU strips,
wherever required and terminal or tee clamps at either end. The price shall cover the erection of the
copper jumper assembly including jumper wire.
Item no.22: Erection of section insulator assembly including core insulator.
The price shall cover erection of all components required for a standard section insulator assembly
(setting both the OHE conductors) including the special droppers for supporting the equipment and all
terminal fittings for conductors and dropper wires required including all insulators. The price shall
cover erection and adjustment of all components including section insulator assembly and 9 tonne
insulators.
Item No.23: Erection of Insulated Catenary wire.
The price shall cover erection of all components required for erection of insulated catenary wire
(setting both the OHE conductors) including the supply of splice, special droppers for supporting the
equipment.
Item No.24: Erection of feeder wire/cross feeder wire/large span wire.
The price shall cover erection of all components required for a 25KV feeder wire/cross feeder
wire/large span wire and all terminal fittings as required.
Item No.25: Erection of 18 mm. dia. Solid copper bus-bar.
The price shall cover erection of 18 mm. dia. Solid copper bus-bar including all components required
for erection of the same under Power Block.

SECTION-V (INSULATORS)
Item no.1: Supply of Bracket Insulator (Porcelain Type).
The price shall cover supply of porcelain type Bracket insulator under this item. All materials supplied
shall be strictly as per specification mentioned for respective item or Governing RDSO/CORE
specification for the item. All items are to be procured from CORE/RDSO approved manufacturer
only and contractor shall produce documentary evidence for the same. All the insulators shall be
inspected and tested by authorized representative of RITES at manufacturer’s premises. The contractor
shall intimate in advance for readiness of material for inspection. The minimum Creepage Distance of
Bracket insulators shall be 1050 mm. The Firm has to take final approval from Railway Authority
regarding type of insulator to be used before placing the order to the manufacturer.

provided in other item excluding cut-in insulators used for section insulator assembly. The price shall
cover erection of all components required for the cut in insulator assembly including appropriate
terminal fittings for the conductor and the 9-tonne insulators under non power block.
Item No.8(i) & (ii): Supply & erection of a 25 KV post insulator.
The price is applicable to the provision of a 25KV post insulator to support copper or aluminium
jumper/bus bars. The price shall cover supply of all components and fittings/angle iron (outrigger) to
support the jumpers, supply of post insulator but excluding small parts steel works with bolts & nuts
etc. if any. The price shall cover erection of all components required for the assembly, including post
insulator but excluding small parts steel works with bolts and nuts etc. if any. The minimum Creepage
Distance of 25KV post insulators shall be 1050 mm.
Under Power Block
Item no.9: Erection of 9-tonne insulator (Composite/Porcelain type).
The price is applicable to the erection of composite/porcelain type 9-tonne insulator on a flat rate basis
such as in a head span, cross span or in a span wire or an OHE conductor at an insulated overlap or not
provided in other item excluding cut-in insulators used for section insulator assembly. The price shall
cover erection of all components required for the cut in insulator assembly including appropriate
terminal fittings for the conductor and the 9-tonne insulators under power block.
Item no.10: Erection of 25 KV post insulator.
The price is applicable to the erection of 25 KV post insulator on a flat rate basis. The price shall cover
erection of all components required for the 25 KV post insulator assembly under power block.
