DAILY LESSON
LOG

Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of recombinant DNA and examples of products from Recombinant DNA Technology.
B. Performance Standard The learners shall be able to: describe some techniques for the expression of desired traits in target organisms; and search online databases for specific traits and
source organisms.

C. Learning The learners should be able to discuss the applications of Recombinant DNA Technology (STEM_BIO11/12-III a-b-7)
Competency/Objectives
Write the LC code for each.
II. CONTENT Unit Test Applications of Recombinant DNA
III. LEARNING RESOURCES

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Ask the students on what they have learned from previous topic about Genetic
presenting the new lesson Engineering
B. Establishing a purpose for the The students will be having their Unit test about the subject course At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
lesson . • give examples of products from recombinant DNA technology;
• explain how genes may be cloned and expressed

C. Presenting Distribute the test papers. Explain the instruction of the test Thought Experiment
examples/Instances of the 1. The learner may be given a group activity/ thought experiment for
new lesson constructing a genetically modified organism/trait in a fruit. “Designer Genes
group work”
I. Arrange the learners into groups of 3 or 4.
II. Have them identify a special trait (e.g. large fruit size)
III. Have them identify a source organism (e.g. jackfruit / langka)
IV. Have them identify a target organism (e.g. aratilis)
V. Have them identify the modified / added trait (e.g. langka-sized aratilis).
VI. Have the learners present their work to the rest of the class, and let the class
decide on the best proposal.
D. Discussing new concepts and Give the students time to answer and accomplish the test. The Teacher discuss;

concepts and skills in daily
living
H. Making generalizations and The teacher will generalize the topic.
abstractions about the lesson
I. Evaluating learning .students will be evaluated based on the result of the 50-item test.
J. Additional activities for
application or remediation
V. REMARKS

A. No. of learners who earned
80% in the evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for
remediation who scored below
80%
C. Did the remedial lessons
work? No. of learners who
have caught up with the
lesson

D. No. of learners who continue

to require remediation

E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well? Why
did these work?
