Based on the data gathered out of 71 respondents 44 or 62% had decided to specialize in
the Academic track while 26 out of the 71 respondents or 36.6% decided to enroll in the Technical-
Vocational Livelihood track and 1 out of the 71 or 1.4% respondents planned to enroll in the Arts
and Design Track while there are no respondents wanted to enroll in the sports track. This shows
that majority of the respondents wanted to pursue a college degree. According to Glatter (2016)
high students still dream of pursuing higher education. The description is back up by the 2016
State of Our Nation’s Youth report as cited by Glatter conducted a survey among high school
students wherein 90% aspire to pursue college.

Based on the data above the specific track that the respondents wanted to pursue are
Humanities and Social Science with 25.35%, Accountancy and Business Manangement ith 16.90%
followed by Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Technical-
Vocational Livelihood (TechVoch) with 14.08% of the pie. While the least specialization are from
the HomeEconomics with 15.49%, followed by ICT with 9.86% and the last is Agriculture and
Industrial Arts with 2.82%. This shows thay still Filipinos have high regards with tertiary degrees
which are 4-5 years above. This interpretation is reinforced by a study conducted by the Asian
Development in partnership with the Bank World Education News Reviews as cited by Trines
(2017) there is a 125% increase in the Asian population of High School students in pursuing a four
years course in the tertiary as cited
