Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists in the development of appropriate mandatory HSE training matrixes for all employees
and contractors of OryxGTL.

Maintains a documented inventory of HSE training including specifications, requirements,


curriculum, etc. Ensures that an accurate database of HSE training is maintained against all
employees and contractors.

Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of HSE training and develops appropriate training
solutions/changes to ensure a high level of quality and competency.

Identifies, implements and maintains appropriate training facilities, materials, and resources to
support HSE training needs. Plan and submit budgets for appropriate Departmental spending.

Submit regular reports to the HSE Manager on the status of the HSE training program. Analyze
trends and make recommendations for improvement.

Support the development and integration of Qatari Nationals into the organization. Identify and
implement appropriate strategies and training programs related to HSE.

Support the development and implementation of integrated management systems. Ensure that
OryxGTL HSE training complies with ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 requirements.

Requirements

Education:
• Post-Graduate education in related Technical, Biological, Humanities or other similar
qualification.
• Recognized technical certification in Safety Management Systems

Experience:
• 8 years relevant experience associated with implementation of Safety management systems
including exposure to international management system standards such as OHSAS 18000.
• 4 years experience in a petro-chemical/gas processing environment working with employees
and contractors including the delivery of HSE related training.

Other, job related requirements:


• Well developed communication skills, writing skills and computer literacy in the English
language.
• Accomplished ability in public speaking in the English language.
• Experience with electronic management systems such as SAP, intranet, etc.

About the Company

Maintains training records and ensures they are processed properly by support staff
2 Assists with the development and delivery of HSE training packages
3 Develops training and orientation concepts for review and execution, revises existing training
materials as needed
4 Provides site wide orientation and training to all employees coming to work on site
5 Develops training schedules
6 Provides advise to HSE leads in organizing critical tasks and specific training sessions
7 Supervises the computer based training and activities in the computer lab
8 Attends and audits contractor orientations and training sessions
9 Delivers BNA orientation to Site Wide Services, offsite and infrastructure organization
10 Supervises all training activities for offsite and infrastructure
11 Manages training inventories, and writes training reports
12 Leads and participates in Health and Safety audits, and work area inspections
13 Responsible for the development, implementation, and review of safety and health policies
and programs related to training activities
14 Develops and implements Health & Safety training plans
15 Responsible for ensuring all site personnel comply with company safety policies, procedures,
standards, and statutory requirements
16 Ensures all site personnel participate in and adopt safe working practices as part of their daily
duties and responsibilities
17 Facilitates and educates line management and workforce personnel in the application of
required procedures, policies and site conduct
18 Provides advice to personnel on risk management strategies and processes
19 Contributes to the ongoing development of safety management plans, project safety policies
and procedures
20 Provides input to safety training presentations, provided by the safety department and assists
with training delivery where required
21 Audits, monitors, and provides assessment for all safety and health programs to ensure
compliance is achieved through risk assessment and controlling the hazards and related
energies
22 Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

1 Project site/field working conditions


2 Onsite-site project workspace of various conditions which may include temporary office
facilities and exposure to moving, mechanical parts and vibration, high precarious places, fumes
or airborne particles and various levels of outside weather

Basic Job Requirements
1 Minimum of eight to ten (8 to10) years of Health & Safety experience preferably within the
construction, heavy industrial or Infrastructure sector
2 Diploma or certification in a relevant health and safety field
3 Extensive experience implementing and conducting health and safety training programs
4 Must have strong working knowledge of the relevant health and safety legislation as it applies
to the Province of Ontario
5 Extensive expertise with regards to HSE risk analysis
6 Detailed understanding of provincial and federal regulations and policies in relation to health &
safety compliance
7 A combination of experience and certifiable qualifications may be accepted
Preferred Qualifications
1 Strong team mentoring, public speaking and coaching skills
2 Possess high level of communication skills, capable of conversing at all levels
3 Attention to detail, investigation, organizational and report generation skills
4 Strong computer, incident reporting and documentation skills
5 Possess the necessary certification to deliver Ontario MOL Safety training ie Working At
Heights & Health & Safety Committees
