Kalimat Verbal Negatif

Kalimat dengan pola “The Simple Present Tense” biasanya menggunakan:


a. Adverb of Frequency (Keterangan kekerapan):
Usually = biasanya Sometimes = kadang-kadang
Always = selalu Occasionally = kadang-kadang
Seldom = jarang Never = tidak pernah
Often = sering
Adverb of frequency ini umumnya ditempatkan diantara Subjek dan Predikat. Contoh:
They usually read a newspaper = Mereka biasanya membaca koran.
Does she always speak Sasak at home? = Apakah mereka selalu berbahasa Sasak
di rumah?

b. Adverb of Time (Keterangan waktu):


Every …. = setiap ….. Once a…./Twice a…./Three times a….
Every morning/afternoon/evening/night/day/week/month/year/Sunday/…
Adverb of time biasanya ditempatkan di akhir kalimat, tetapi kadang-kadang dapat
pula ditempatkan di awal kalimat sebelum subjek terutama pada kalimat positif dan
negatif.
Contoh:
They get up at seven o’clock every morning.
Every Sunday they do not go to school.

Question Words (Information Questions)


Where = dimana/kemana Why = kenapa/mengapa
Who = siapa/siapakah What = apa yang
What + Noun = benda apa yang How = bagaimana/dengan apa
