Abstract
According to BPJS rules, there is a service procedure in which the patient deserves
to get health care according to the applicable procedure, in case the patient is registered by
providing his/her health BPJS card. Participants covered by the National Health Insurance
(JKN) include beneficiary contributions (PBI) and non-beneficiary (Non PBI) contributors. In
one hand, the negative impact of not having BPJS is that the patient will be hampered by the
high cost of health service, while on the other hand, the positive impact is when the patient
show his/her insurance card, the cost will be borne by health insurance. This study aims at
finding out the factors contributing to BPJS Mandiri participation at Cipageran Public Health
Center in 2018. The study design was cross sectional. The author took patients visiting
Cipageran Public Health Center as sample by accidental sampling technique. The author
collected data through interviews and questionnaires. The author conducted univariate and
bivariate data Analysis to find out the correlation(chi square) The study found out that there
was correlation between age and BPJS MANDIRI participation with p value = 0,021. There
was also coorelation between attitude and BPJS MANDIRI participation with p value = 0,013
and. In addition, there was coorelation between family support and BPJS MANDIRI
participation with p value = 0,032 as well. However, there was no Coorelation found between
knowledge, sex, education, employment and income, and BPJS MANDIRI participation. In
order to improve BPJS MANDIRI participation , it is recommended to provide information
regarding procedures for registration, the amount of fee according to the inpatient class tariff
and to increase the number of BPJS Mandiri participation.
