LISTENING SECTION
In this section of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you
understand spoken English. There are 4 parts to this section, with special
direction for each part.

PART I: Pictures
Directions:
For each question, you will see a picture on your test paper and you will hear
four short statements. These statements will be spoken TWICE. They will not be
printed on your test paper, so you must listen carefully to understand what the
speakers say.
When you hear the four statements, look at the picture on your test paper and
choose the statement that best describes what you see on the picture. Then, on
your answer sheet, find the number of the question and mark on your answer
sheet!
Now, listen to the four statements.

A. Two men are standing.

B. They’re having a meeting.
C. They’re riding a car.
D. The woman is sleeping.

Statement (B) “They’re having a meeting.” best describes what you see in the
picture. Therefore, you should choose answer (B).
Number 1, look at picture number 1

Part II: Questions – Responses

Questions: 4 to 7
Direction:
In this part of the test, you will hear several questions spoken in English,
followed by three responses, also spoken in English. The questions and
responses will be spoken TWICE. They will not be printed on your test paper, so
must listen carefully to understand what the speakers say. You have to choose
the best response to each question.
Now listen to a sample question:

You will hear : “Will you be here this summer?”

You will also hear : (A) Yes. Summer is my favorite season. Sample Answer
(B) Yes. They will be here soon.    
(C) No, I won’t. I plan to visit my family. A B C D

Choice (C) – “No, I won’t. I plan to visit my family” – is the appropriate response
to the question [Will you be here this summer?]. Therefore, you should mark (C)
on your answer sheet.

Part III: Short Conversation

Questions: 8 to 11
Directions:
In this part of the test, you will hear several short conversations. The
conversations will not be printed on your test paper. You will hear the
conversationsTWICE, so you must listen carefully to understand what the
speakers say.
On your test paper, you will read a question about each conversation. The
question will be followed by four answers. You have to choose the best answer
to each question and mark it on your answer sheet.
Example:
You will hear: Girl : Are you sixteen yet?
Boy : Not yet, but my birthday is in March.
Girl : When in March?
Boy : It is March 20th
You will read:
What do you learn from the conversation?
A. The girl is sixteen years old.
B. The boy is twenty years old. Sample Answer
C. The boy was born in March.    
D. The girl’s birthday is March 20 .th

Choice (C) - “The boy was born in March” – best answers the question [What
do you learn from the conversation?]. Therefore, you should mark (C) on your
answer sheet.
Number 8
Woman : Where did you get your work experience, Ronnie?
Man : Well, I wanted to work in an office or a shop, but I worked as a
receptionist in a sports center.
Woman : Did you enjoy it?
Man : Yes, it was fun.

Number 9
Man : What is your afterschool activity, Nana?
Woman : I always help my mother to make fried snacks at home.
Man : What do the fried snacks for?
Woman : My mother always sells them in the afternoon.

Number 10
Man : You have achieved the company’s target, congratulations!
Woman : Thanks for the great team work.
Man : You must be promoted to be our new branch manager.
Woman : I hope the team will have another project soon.

Number 11
Man : There’s a great football match on TV tonight, Holly.
Woman : Oh, I don’t like football. I never watch it.
Man : Are you going to watch Simple Cooking on Channel 3 then?
Woman : No, I’m not. I’m going to watch an action film on Channel 1.

Part IV. Short Talks

Questions: 12 to 15
Directions:
In this part of the test, you will hear several short talks. Each will be spoken
TWICE. They will not be printed on your test paper, so you must listen carefully
to understand and remember what is said.

On your test paper, you will read two or more questions about each short talk.
Each question will be followed by four answers. You have to choose the best
answer to the question and mark it on your answer sheet.

Questions no. 12 and 13 refer to the following text!

Hello, I’ll tell you about myself. My full name is Niara Dila, but you can call me
Nia. I’m seventeen years old. My hobby is dancing. I love dancing very much.
My mother is a traditional dancer, so I often practicing dance with her. I live in
Solo. I study in Solo Senior High School. I have a sister. She likes dancing too.
Every Sunday and Wednesday, we practice dancing in our teacher’s house.

minutes. The weather is clear and sunny, with a high of 25 degrees for this
afternoon. Have a nice trip. Thank you for your attention.
