Rules for Short Film Comnetifion are as below.
Theme: tte-motiont'

Note: This is a short film competition and hence ONLY Short Films should be submitted NO
OOCUUpNTARIES. The entries can be short digital animation films too on the topic.

Duration: The films shall not be more than 4 minutes (240 seconds), including the beginning and
end credits, Films exceeding this time limit are liable to be rejected. The minimum length should be
30 seconds including credits.

Film language: The shorl films could be in any language - Hindi/English/Gujarati is preferable; if
in any other language, it must be subtitled in HINDI/ENGLISH. Films submitted previously to any
other festival will not be considered for this contest. If found later, will be disqualified for the
contest/prize withheld.

Format of film: The films may be shot in MPEG4 or AVI format, The recommended ratios are:
16'9 I 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic - in DV / HDV.

No. of participants involved in a Film: An individual/group may be a participant in the


competition. The team / group can have a maximum of 4 participants.

Right to screen: The parficipants grant Nirma University the non-exclusive rights to screen (non -
commercially) their film/ entry on its website, at festivals and/or other associated screenings.

Copyrighh Tfre Film must not contain any copyrighted work(s) belonging to third parties unless
1) Participants have a license to use such works in the Film; or
2) Participants' use of parts of such films that are part of Creative Commons.
3) Participants will retain any licenses and provide thern to organizer$ upon request.

Submission of lilm:
1. Videos for the Short Film Competition will be submitted on Jan I0,2070 at I :30 pm.
2. The entry should be submitted by the Participant to respective Institute Cultural coordinators
in required CD/DVD / Pendrive format, as instructed. Participant hereby confirms that s/he
has the necessary rights to submit the entry and accept the terms.
J. Transfer, assignment or substitution of the prizes / benefits to a person other than the
par[icipants, will not be permitted. However, in exceptional cases Nirma University reserves
the right to enterlain such requests at their discretion.
4. The participants agree that Nirma University shall not be held responsible for any
unauthorized use of the content by any third parly and Nirma University does not guarantee
the posting of any content.
Coordinators will submit the CD for short film Competition by requested date to the
Department of Design and copy to Chief Coordinator, Student Welfare Activities.
One film mustbe sent in one CD.
Film Title and Name, Roll Number of participant/s, name of participant/s, Institute, Contact
Number of the participanVs must be written on the CD. In case of a group entry, any one
participant's contact number may be provided.

without any intimation to the participants at any time after the launch of the contest'
5. Entry and iarticipation of films implies unconditional acceptance of these terms and
regulationi. Nirma University deciiion in all matters pertaining to this contest and screening
tems herein shall be final and binding in all respects'

The rules of the photographv competition were reviewed are as follows:


Th eme: "Chhavi-ChhaYa-Pratibimbh"
. Competition will be open for all regular students of Nirma University (ltfu)
'. The reporting time of the participants is 1:00 pm'
Attendanr. of th. participants will be taken by the concerned Institute's Coordinator.
. Competition would begin at2'.00 pm and end at 5:00 pm'
. The participant has to bring his/her own digital camera'
. The digital camera should have a memory card which will be formatted by the concerned
coordinalor before the commencement of the contest'
. The time limit will be three hours.
. The participant has to submit 5 photographs on the theme "Chhavi-Chhaya-Pratibimbh"
, All the participants should bring the required accessories of their DSLR / mobile
phones to

facilitate the transfer of photographs.


. No mixing, matching or morphing of photographs will be permitted.
. Basic editing including coloi enhancement. use of filters and cropping of the
photos is not

allowed. Adianced editing used to create illusion, deception and/or manipulations, adding
removing of significant element within the frame is prohibited.
r Nirma University will have all rights for the use of these images without
prior permission of
participant as and when they deem fit. Credit will be-'given to the participant whenever the
image will be used.

Digital images are evaluated on the basis of Impact, Composition, Technical Quality
Suitability for the specific theme'
. All the photographs should be taken within the premises of Nirma University campus on 10-
0l-2020 during timing announced at the time of reporting for the competition.
