This study was conducted to determine the acceptability of subscription

video-on-demand (SVOD) of graduate school students of selected universities

in Region 3 of the Philippines. The study sought to answer the following

questions:

1. How may the demographics of the respondents be described in terms

of:

 Sex

 Age

 Employment Status

 Occupation

 Monthly Income

 Highest Educational Attainment

2. How may the respondents’ SVOD behavior be described in terms of:

 SVOD Subscription

 Frequency of SVOD Use

 Time Spent Using SVOD

3. How may the determinants influencing the respondents’ SVOD

experience be assessed in terms of:

 Perceived Usefulness

 Perceived Ease Of Use

 Perceived Enjoyment

 Perceived Price
 Attitude

4. How may the respondents’ behavioral intention on the subscription

video-on-demand (SVOD) services be assessed?

5. Is there a significant relationship between the respondents’ profile and

their perception on the acceptability subscription video-on-demand

(SVOD)?

Statistical Tools Used

The following statistical tools being mentioned below were used to analyze

the data gathered from the questionnaires that were handed out to the

respondents of the study:

Mean

The mean is the summation of every single value in the set of data that is

being presented, and then divided by the total number of inputs provided in

the same data set. (Sykes, Gani, & Vally, 2016). This was used to determine

the mean or the average score of the determinants affecting the perception of

graduate school students on the acceptability of Subscription Video-On-

Demand. The formula for the mean is being shown below:

Where:

∑ = Summation
x = Scores
n = number of scores
Chi Square Test For Independence

The Chi Square Test For Independence is used to see the comparison

between two different variables in a contingency table to be able to see

whether there is a correlation between the two variables. (McHugh, 2013).

This test was used to in this study to see whether there was a correlation

between the respondents’ profiles and their perception on the determinants

affecting their acceptability of Subscription Video-On-Demand. The formula

for the Chi Square Test is being shown below:

Where:

∑ = Summation
C = Degree Of Freedom
O = Observed Value
E = Expected Value

Contingency Coefficient

It is a statistical tool that is based on the Chi Square and it is a coefficient

of association that tells whether the given sets of variables or sets of data are

independent or dependent from each other. (Törmäkangas, 2014). This was

used to in this study to see whether the respondents’ profile stood alone,

independent from the different determinants. The formula for Contingency

Coefficient is being shown below:

Where:
X2 = Chi Square Statistic
N = Total Number Of Cases Or
Observations in the Study

Frequency And Percentage Distribution

Frequency and Percentage were used primarily in this study as a way to

describe the demographic profile of the respondents. Frequency basically is

counting how frequent a specific variable occurs in a given set of data.

Furthermore, Frequency and Percentage are used mostly as a representation

of variables such as personal information. (Korb, 2013).
