Environmental Preparedness Speech

Grade 7 Council
Ladies and gentlemen, fellow contenders, highly esteemed members of the honorable board of judges,
A wonderful evening to us all.

It is my great honor and privilege to speak before you, on this very sensitive issue that the entire
humanity is facing.

As a young advocate of the environment, a Filipino, a grade 7 student, a daughter, I am here Infront of
you, asking you to stand with me , and begin the advocacy of awareness in our environment.

It is never too late for us to change. It is never too late for us to adopt. Let this be a challenge for you
and everyone of us , to help save our environment. Help save humanity and Help spread environmental
awareness…… to save earth and humanity.

Do you realized… how important is to be socially and globally responsible on environmental issues?

Have you realized that Thousands… to millions of, dollars, pesos poured over to victims of typhoons,
earthquakes, landslides, and other forms of calamities…here in our very own country….the Philippines?

With that , ladies and gentlemen; Kindly listen to me to this , “ Is educating every one’s awareness in
environmental preparedness, be the topmost priority than ever?

Yes, it is …yes, it is …. even as I am, in my very own young age, I do realize that. ..

Looking back those bad memories of typhoon Yolanda’s victims, that dead bodies of Taclobanons
including the bodies of cows , pigs and other lives tocks animals laid down , scattered everywhere at
Tacloban and Palo Leyte shores , it shock the entire world, that even Pope Francis drove Philippines in
January 15 2015 in the middle of the storm to visit those typhoon victims .

Those memories are still fresh in our minds, I cannot imagine that it took more than 6, 000 lives ,
displaced many more , devastated livestock and properties , and push more than 2 million people below
poverty line.

Ladies and gentlemen, Basilisanhon , I speak by my heart and minds ; if we will do together we can
build a resilience Philippines . First, we should Involve both humanitarian and environmental actions s in
the preparedness planning process. 2nd Coordinate our local MDRRC for weather updates and red cross
training.. Plant more tress, apply reuse , recyle and reduce ..

Ladies and gentlemen these are the only very basic / simple way of preparing ourselves from danger .
Let us love our mother nature , let us nurture it because she is the only provider of life on earth.

I am may be young but my voices are strong and loud enough to help bring awareness to the people in
our community, to become socially and globally responsible on environmental issues.
