Reverse Interlocking - Overview

Description of example:
Create the reverse interlocking for 2 devices in the outgoing unit (Devices B/C) and for 1 device (Device
A) in the incoming unit via the IEC61850 station

Proceed as follows:
1. Create device parameter sets
2. Parameterize off-line: Select the information in the individual devices
3. Save the parameter sets
4. Create the IEC61850 station
5. Add the devices to the IEC61850 station
6. In the IEC61850 station, set the IP addresses and configure GOOSE
7. Save and update the IEC61850 station
8. Initialize the protection devices
9. With testing equipment: Simulate faults within / outside the busbar
10. Check the reaction in the incoming unit
11. Check all signals with the troubleshooting tools

Reverse Interlocking - Overview

1: Fault in the outgoing unit (DeviceC).

DeviceC picks up and sends a

Load Flow 7SR22 blocking signal to DeviceA to inhibit
Device A protection.
Blocking Signal
2 t = 100ms (50-1)
t = 900ms (50-2) DeviceC trips @300ms and
provides protection to the network.

2: Fault on the busbar - In the

Device C
Incoming unit (DeviceA).
Device B
1 t = 300ms (50-1) t = 600ms (50-1) No Pick up at DeviceB & C, thus no
Pick Up (50-1) Pick Up (50-1) blocking signal sent to deviceA.

DeviceA trips @100ms and provides

protection to the network.
