Folders to keep: Foundations of Art Ministry Course by Jessie Nilo ©2019

Put all of your images and documents that you’ve created so far into the appropriate Foundations folders that you are
storing on your computer.

If you have an image file that equally fits into 2 categories, make a duplicate of that file and store it inside both folders.

Inside your “Artists Leading in Community” folder, please put and keep adding:

• any photo responses you uploaded for Lesson 2

• images you upload about the way you serve artists
• photos of any community art or art ministry activities you’ve done, even if you haven’t shared them with our class
• make a little Word document called Leadership that you can keep adding to, and when you notice that you’ve typed
something in a discussion question about leadership, or when you’ve written an example or story about artists
leading together, simply copy>paste what you typed and paste it into this little Word document.

Inside your “Journaling” folder, you might keep:

• any images from your own creative processing in Lessons 1 - 3

• creative insights or imagery you make in your journal throughout the course
• any art you make that fits the theme of your own creative process
• make a little Word document called Journaling that you can keep adding to, and when you notice that you’ve typed
something in a discussion question about your own creative process or your spiritual journey with God, simply
copy>paste what you typed and paste it into this little Word document.

Inside your “Portfolio” folder, please put and keep adding:

• your best artwork that you make in this course that you’re especially pleased with (not everything!)
• any art you’ve made within the past 3 years that you’re particularly proud of (you will cull this down later, when it’s
time to create your final art ministry portfolio)
• art for art’s sake, in any subject, any genre, including poetry, creative writing, etc.
• ministry-related artwork that shows good design
• collaborations you’ve created with other artists (must be your original work, and the other artist(s) involved need
to be fine with you using it in your portfolio; ask their permission
• artistic journal entries you’ve made that show strong imagery or good sense of design
• Keep adding to your Portfolio folder as you create new art throughout this course.

Your “Photography Assignment” folder will contain your Elements of Design assignment.
