information,however is not always valid as fravedent stories are shared of the time. It is important to
make sure that the information that you are receiving is real and verify that the source is legitimate.

Social networking can help students iteract if they are working in a group on a project the mistake it
more convenient for students who may commute and are un able to meet a particular group meetings
aproximately two thirds of teachers however,believe that social media sites like facebook and the
distraction that may occur while a student should be studying or doing homework.

Although teachers find social media to be more of an incovenience. It could have a positive
effect on particular types of classes social media has been used as a form of communication for teachers
and student that have been apart of an online course the ability to form groups on social media sites
have helped teachers connect with students and students connect with classmate and share valuable
information for the class quickly and easily.

Social media sites are very important to teachers and student who are enrolled in online
classes. While attending penn state i have enrolled in a couple of the online classes that are mainly listed
on the schedule of course for the world campus. The world campus has student enrolled through out the
united states making it impossible for the students to meet for a face to face meeting if they have group
project which we had this is where the social media sites. Yammer came intro play on yammer the
teacher is able to create a closed group in which you would get an email to join the class. It gave
students the opportunity to work in groups and be able to see who they are talking to and be able to
stay in touch with classmates while still being able to do their work on their own time.

In Global stated that the academic performance is defined by student reporting of post
semester CGPA/GPA and their expected GPA for the current semester. The grade point average GPA is
now used by most of the tertiary institution as a convenient summary measure of the academic
performance of their student. The GPA is a better measurement because it provides a greater insight into
the relative level of performance of individuals and different group of student.

With these concept the researcher is interested to find out the addiction to social media and
its effect to the academic performance of grade 10 students of malandag institute.

6. Is the level of addiction to social media has significant effect to the study habits among grade 10
students of M.I.

 Significant of the study

This study aims to explain the importance of the proper usage of social networking sites it aims to
point out particularly adverse effects. It poses to students daily lives these sites evidently have a lot of
positive effects but they also have their share to negative impact. In order to provide much help this
study would like to give enlightenment to the said phenomena.

more over. This research or study will provide them enough information so they can avoid being
addicted to social networking sites and so that they can improve their education.

 This was done to have a better insight into the researcher as the target population was one of
the most avid users of these sites and could provide exceptional responses. Even the understanding of
the questioner was easy for them as they were familiar with the sites and are quite clear about the
reason they use it for and the various problems that they were how face because of the effects of using
these social networking sites. The responses were collected by personal questioning the responses were

from the web.
