TRAINING THE BROKERS OF PHASE INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED

Description of Ideal Situation

In an ideal world situation, the Phase Insurance Company Limited would have an up-to-

date networked computer system on each of the three floors of the building; the computers would

be connected to a central computer (the server) to monitor the data on the network. This system

would require the biometric information of the individual workers to enable them log into the

system.

In addition to this, there would be a system administrator, who would be an expert in the

biometric system and also have in depth knowledge and expertise in computer networks. He/ She

would make sure that the system is working all the time and would also take care of major and

minor glitches that may occur in the system.

Furthermore, the workers would have the requisite computer skills and technological

know-how to be able to effectively and efficiently use the new system. That is to say, each of the

workers would know his or her way round the system.

Finally, in an ideal situation, there would be adequate financial support to help maintain

and run the system in the best ways possible.

Performance Problem

Before the introduction of the new brokers the old brokers have been allocated to different

departments and branches. Even though the employees have good certificates from their respective

institutions they absolutely don’t have any knowledge on broker.

Time Constraint

The instructional designer has only 60 minutes of contact time with the workers in a

working day for the entire three (3) months deadline given. This is because every broker is

expected to go to the field and market the company’s product daily.

Project Goals

All the workers will be able to have firsthand knowledge about brokery, they will also

acquire the skills within a very short period of time in convincing their customers. they will also

be able to complete and process policy document appropriately and accurately.
