LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE II

I. OBJECTIVE

At the end of one hour, 80% of the students should be able to:

1. identify and classify on the natural resources found in the environment and man-
made resources.
2. judge if the resources are needed to conserve.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. TOPIC: Identifying Natural Resources Found in the Environment (e.g. water, soil,
trees, plants and animals)
B. MATERIALS:
a. Pictures of the things we get from water (fish, shells, crabs, shrimp)
b. Pictures of the things taken from the land (fruits, vegetables, crops)
c. Pictures of different animal
d. Pictures of man made objects

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary Activities
Good morning class! Good morning sir!
Please arrange your seats and pick-up (Students will arrange and pick-up the

Okay, now, imagine we are under the


sea! What are the things we will see?
(Students will give their different
responses, accept all answers and write
them on the board)
After going to the sea, let’s now go the
mall, what are the things we can see?
(Students will give their different
responses, accept all answers and write
them on the board)
Excellent children! Lets give ourselves a
round of applause (Students will clap their hands.)
C. Explorations
Now, I will group you into three. (Students will be divided into three.)
(Once settled, the teacher will give the
instruction for the activity.)
Each team will be given an envelope. You
have to paste these pictures on the given
cartolina. Note, there is one picture that is
not included in the group and therefore
should not be posted. Then you have to
tell whether the pictures given to you are (Students will clarify the instruction.)

Okay, you have only 10 minutes to finish
this exercise.
D. Explanation
Okay, students that is enough! Teams,
please paste your answers on the board.

what are they call?

D. Evaluation
Lets’ see if you know the difference. I will
flash on the screen a sentence and you
tell me what is the answer. Ready? Yes, sir!

Excellent, students! Let us check your


prior work. (In this part, the students will look on their
previous answer on the tour activity)
E. Expansion
I have here another question, if
somebody can answer this, he/she will
receive a special gift after the class. Here
is the question, What do you mean by
conserve? Conserve is same as consume.
The answer is close, but not quite right,
Anyone else? Yes Ian? Conserve is to save.
Exactly!

Now, I will flash a sentence on the


screen. (Students will read.) “Resources should
be conserve.”
What do you mean by that statement?
(Students will raise their hands)
Yes, Dorothy!
It means sir that resources should be
used everyday.
Okay, resources should be used
everyday but how are we going to use it?
Should we use it until its gone? Yes,
Mary! No sir! It means we have to save some
resources.
Correct! Okay I will flash on the screen

and put your hands in your mouth if it is
not. Ready Yes, sir!
