The Magnificat
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You.
You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength, that I may not fall so
often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life, and without You, I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light, and without You, I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much, and always be in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I wish it to be a place of consolation for
You, a nest of Love.
Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close, and life
passes, death, judgement, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so
that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is getting late and death
approaches. I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O
how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!
Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers, I need You. Let me recognize You
as Your disciples did at the breaking of bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the
light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my
heart.
Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if
not by Communion, at least by grace and love.
Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not merit it, but,
the gift of Your Presence, oh yes, I ask this of You!
Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for. Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your
Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and
more.
With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love You
perfectly during all eternity.
Amen
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In obedience of angels,
In service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In preachings of the apostles,
In faiths of confessors,
In innocence of virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;
Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of the wind,
Depth of the sea,
Stability of the earth,
Firmness of the rock.
I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me;
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's hosts to save me
From snares of the devil,
From temptations of vices,
From every one who desires me ill,
Afar and anear,
Alone or in a multitude.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through a confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said throughout the world today,
for all the holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the Universal Church,
those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.
Prayer of Saint Terese of Lisieux
Jesus, Who in thy bitter passion didst become the "the reproach of men and the Man of
Sorrow" , I venerate thy Holy Face on Which Shone the beauty and gentleness of
Divinity. In those disfigured features I recognize thine infinite love, and I long to love thee
and to make thee loved . .
Praise you and bless you my Lord, and give him thanks,
And be subject unto him with great humility.
We adore Thee,
most holy Lord Jesus Christ,
here and in all Thy churches
that are in the whole world;
and we bless Thee,
because by Thy Holy Cross
Thou hast redeemed the World.
— St. Francis
Prayer of Saint Thomas More
Give me the grace to long for Your holy sacraments, and especially to rejoice in the
presence of Your body, sweet Savior Christ, in the holy sacrament of the altar.
Amen.
Lord, teach me to seek Thee, and reveal Thyself to me when I seek Thee. For I cannot
seek Thee unless Thou teach me, nor find Thee except Thou reveal Thyself. Let me
seek Thee in longing, let me long for Thee in seeking. Let me find Thee in love, and love
Thee in finding.
Amen.
Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas
Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom, lofty origin of all being, graciously
let a ray of your brilliance penetrate into the darkness of my understanding and take from
me the double darkness in which I have been born, an obscurity of both sin and
ignorance. Give me a sharp sense of understanding, a retentive memory, and the ability
to grasp things correctly and fundamentally. Grant me the talent of being exact in my
explanations, and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm. Point out
the beginning, direct the progress, and help in completion; through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Christ Jesus, Sweet Lord, why have I ever loved, why in my whole life have I ever
desired anything except You, Jesus my God? Where was I when I was not in spirit
with You? Now, from this time forth, do you, all my desires, grow hot, and flow out
upon the Lord Jesus: run . . . you have been tardy until now; hasten where you are
going; seek Whom you are seeking. O, Jesus may he who loves You not be an
anathema; may he who loves You not be filled with bitterness.
O, Sweet Jesus, may every good feeling that is fitted for Your praise, love You,
delight in You, adore You! God of my heart, and my Portion, Christ Jesus, may my
heart faint away in spirit, and may You be my Life within me! May the live coal of
Your Love grow hot within my spirit and break forth into a perfect fire; may it
burn incessantly on the altar of my heart; may it glow in my innermost being; may
it blaze in hidden recesses of my soul; and in the days of my consummation may I
be found consummated with You!
Amen.
My God, I offer Thee Thy well-beloved Son, in thanksgiving for all the benefits I have
received from Thee. I offer Him as my adoration, my petition, my oblation, and my
resolutions; I offer Him as my love and my all. Receive, O Eternal Father, this offering for
whatever Thou will of me, since I have nothing to offer which is not unworthy of Thee,
except Jesus, my Savior, Whom Thou have given me with so much love.
Amen.
— St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
Suscipe
God saves me, Jesus enlightens me, the Holy Spirit is my life, thus I fear nothing.
— With the Blessed Sacrament suspended in the air, the Angel of Peace prostrated
himself and recited this prayer during the third apparition to the children in 1916.
My God,
I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee!
I beg pardon for those who do not believe,
do not adore, do not hope,
and do not love Thee.
Amen.
— Prayer taught by the Angel of Peace of the three children during his first apparition in
1916.
— Prayer communicated to the three seers by an interior impulse during the apparition
of May 13, 1917.
Oh my Jesus,
it is for love of Thee,
in reparation for the offenses committed
against the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
and for the conversion of poor sinners.
Amen.
— During the July 13, 1917 apparition, Our Lady taught this prayer to the children to be
said when they have some sacrifice to offer God.
"O Lord Jesus, King of martyrs, Thou art the comfort of the afflicted and firm support of
all who suffer for love of Thee and by reason of their loyalty to Thy Spouse Holy Mother
the Church. In Thy mercy give ear to our fervent prayers in behalf of our brethren of the
"Church of Silence" that they may never be disheartened in the struggle nor waver in the
faith; rather may they taste the sweetness of the consolations reserved by Thee for
those souls whom Thou dost vouchsafe to number among Thy companions on the hill of
the cross.
To those who must suffer torments and violence, hunger and fatigue, be Thou the
invincible strength sustaining them in their trials and assuring them of the rewards
pledged by Thee to those who persevere unto the end.
Many, on the other hand, are exposed to moral constraints, which oftentimes prove
much more dangerous inasmuch as they are more deceitful; to such then be Thou the
light to enlighten their mind, so that they may clearly see the straight path of truth; be
Thou also to them a source of strength for the support of their will so that they may
triumph in every crisis and never yield to any vacillation of weakness.
Finally, there are those who find it impossible to profess their faith openly, to lead a
normal Christian life, to receive the Holy Sacraments frequently, and to converse
familiarly with their spiritual guides. To such be Thou Thyself a hidden altar, an invisible
temple, a plenitude of grace and a fatherly voice, helping and encouraging them,
providing a remedy for their aching hearts and filling them with joy and peace.
May they be helped by our fervent prayer; let our fraternal solidarity assure them that
they are not alone. May their example redound to the edification of the whole Church;
especially may it be profitable to us who regard them with so much affection.
Grant, O Lord, that their period of trial be shortened and that very soon all, including also
their converted oppressors, may enjoy the freedom of serving and worshipping Thee,
who with the Father and the Holy Spirit livest and reignest forever and ever. Amen."
O Lord, God of peace, you have created us and poured out your love on us so that we
might share your glory. We praise you and we thank you for sending us Jesus, your
beloved Son. Through the paschal mystery you have made him the architect of all
salvation, the source of all peace and the bond of all fraternity. We thank you for the
desires, efforts, and accomplishments which your Spirit of peace has effected in our day,
to replace rancour with love, distrust with understanding, and indifference with solidarity.
Open our minds and hearts even more to the concrete requirements of the love of our
brothers and sisters so that we may be ever better workers for peace. Remember, O
Father of mercy, all who are labouring, suffering and dying to create a more fraternal
world. May your kingdom of justice, peace and love come for all people of every race
and tongue. And may the earth be filled with your glory.
— Paul VI (1897-1978)
Lord,
Lock me up
in the deepest depths of your heart
And then, holding me there—
burn me,
purify me,
set me on fire,
sublimate me,
Till I become utterly what you would have me be
through the utter annihilation of my ego.
— Teilhard de Chardin
The Chaplet of Divine Mercy
First of all you will say one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one
Apostles’ Creed. Then, on the Our Father Beads say these words:
“Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and
Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and the sins of the
whole world.”
“Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the
whole world.”
To avoid distractions while praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the faithful may choose
to substitute the word “Passion” on each of the Hail Mary Beads, for the following words
in Bold:
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Agony in the Garden, have mercy on us and the
whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Sweat of Blood, have mercy on us and the
whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Scourging at the Pillar, have mercy on us and
the whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Scourging Wounds, have mercy on us and the
whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Crowning with Thorns, have mercy on us and
the whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Thorn Wounds, have mercy on us and the
whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Carrying of the Cross, have mercy on us and
the whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Shoulder Wound, have mercy on us and the
whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Crucifixion and Death, have mercy on us and
the whole world.”
· “For the Sake of His sorrowful Pierced Hands, Feet and Heart, have mercy on
us and the whole world.”
The phrases in bold that are substituted for the word 'passion', lead the faithful to reflect
at each bead upon images of Our Lord - images that are found in His passion. The first
of each pair of bold phrases are taken from the five Sorrowful Mysteries of the Most Holy
Rosary and refer what happened to the body of Jesus. Alternating phrases refer to the
Precious Blood, or wounds of Jesus. This method leads the faithful to reflect upon the
Body and Blood of Christ as they pray.
Saint Philomena
O, Saint Philomena, Virgin and Martyr, whom God glorifies by so many miracles, whom
the Vicar of Jesus Christ has names Protectress of the Living Rosary and the Children of
Mary, manifest, more and more plainly from the heights of Heaven, that a voice holy as
thine cannot be denied and that we have the right to rely upon thine aid. Obtain for us
the grace to be faithful to Jesus Christ, even to death. Amen.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
O, great Saint Philomena, glorious Virgin and Martyr, wonder-worker of our age, obtain
for me purity of body and soul, purity of heart and desire, purity of thought and affection.
Through thy patience under multiplied sufferings, obtain for me a submissive acceptance
of all the afflictions it may please God to send me and as thou didst miraculously escape
unhurt from the waters of the Tiber, into which thou wert cast by order of thy persecutor,
so may I pass through the waters of tribulation without detriment to my soul. In addition
to these favors, obtain for me, O faithful spouse of Jesus, the particular intention I
earnestly recommend to thee at this moment. O pure Virgin and holy Martyr, deign to
cast a look of pity from Heaven on thy devoted servant, comfort me in affliction, assist
me in danger, above all come to my aid in the hour of death. Watch over the interests of
the Church of God, pray for its exaltation and prosperity, the extension of the faith, for
the Sovereign Pontiff, for the clergy, for the perseverance of the just, the conversion of
sinners, and the relief of the souls in purgatory, especially those dear to me. O great
Saint, whose triumph we celebrate on earth, intercede for me, that I may one day behold
the crown of glory bestowed on thee in Heaven, and eternally bless Him who so liberally
rewards for all eternity the sufferings endured for His love during this short life.
Amen.
Saint Joseph
Prayer to St. Joseph
To thee, O Blessed Joseph, we have recourse in our tribulations, and while imploring the
aid of thy most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke thy patronage also. By that love
which united thee to the Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God, and by the fatherly affection
with which thou didst embrace the Infant Jesus, we humbly beseech thee graciously to
regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased with His Blood and to help us in our
necessities, by thy powerful intercession.
Protect, I most provident Guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen children of Jesus
Christ; ward off from us, O most loving Father, all taint of error and corruption; graciously
assist us from Heaven, O most power protector, in our struggle with the powers of
darkness; and as thou didst once rescue the Child Jesus from imminent peril to His life,
so now defend the Holy Church of God from the snares of her enemies and from all
adversity.
Shield each one of us with thy unceasing patronage that, imitating thy example and
sported by thy aid, we may be enabled to live a good life, die a holy death, and secure
everlasting happiness in Heaven.
Amen.
This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1505 it
was sent from the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. Whoever
shall read this prayer or hear it or keep it about themselves, shall never die a sudden
death, or be drowned, nor shall poison take effect on them; neither shall they fall into the
hands of the enemy, or shall be burned in any fire or shall be overpowered in battle.
Say for nine mornings for anything you may desire. It has never been known to fail, so
be sure you really want what you ask.
O Glorious St. Joseph, model of all who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to
work in the spirit of penance in expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously by
placing love of duty above my inclinations; to gratefully and joyously deem it an honor to
employ and to develop by labor the gifts I have received from God, to work methodically,
peacefully, and in moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from it through
weariness or difficulty to work; above all, with purity of intention and unselfishness,
having unceasingly before my eyes death and the account I have to render time lost,
talents unused, good not done, and vain complacency in success, so baneful to the work
of God. All for Jesus, all for Mary, all to imitate thee, O Patriarch St. Joseph! This shall
be my motto for life and eternity.
Amen.
O GLORIOUS St. Joseph , you were chosen by God to be the reputed father of Jesus,
the most pure Spouse of Mary, ever Virgin, and Head of the Holy Family. You have been
chosen by Christ's Vicar as the heavenly Patron and Protector of the Church founded by
Christ. Therefore, with the greatest confidence I implore your powerful assistance for the
whole Church Militant. Protect, in a special manner, with true fatherly love, the Sovereign
Pontiff and all the bishops and priests in communion with the See of Peter. Be the
protector of all who labor for souls amid the trials and tribulations of this life; and grant
that all the nations of the earth may submit with docility to that Church out of which there
is no salvation.
Dearest St. Joseph, accept the offering I now make of myself to you. I dedicated myself
to your service, that you may ever be my Father, my Protector and my Guide in the way
of salvation. Obtain for me great purity of heart and a fervent love for the interior life.
Grant that, after your example, all my action may be directed to the greater glory of God,
in union with the divine Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and your own
paternal heart. Finally, pray for me that I may share in the peace and joy of your holy
death.
Amen.
Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never was it known that
anyone who implored your help and sought your intercession was left unassisted. Full of
confidence in your power, I fly to you, and beg your protection. Despise not, O foster-
father of the Redeemer, my humble supplication, but in your bounty, hear and answer
me. Amen. .
O blessed Saint Joseph, faithful guardian and protector of virgins to whom God
entrusted Jesus and Mary, I implore you by the love which you did bear them, to
preserve me from every defilement of soul and body that I may always serve them in
holiness and purity of love.
Amen.
O St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of
God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
O St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your
Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ our Lord, so that having engaged
here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most
loving of Fathers.
O St. Joseph, I never grow tired contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I
dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss
His dear head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath.
O blessed Joseph,
you gave forth your last breath
in the loving embrace of Jesus and Mary.
When the seal of death
shall close my life,
come with Jesus and Mary to aid me.
Obtain for me this solace for that hour
to die with their holy arms around me.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
I commend my soul,
living and dying,
into your sacred arms.
Amen.
V. Let us pray.
R. O God, in Your ineffable providence, You were pleased to choose Blessed Joseph to
be the spouse of Your most holy Mother. Grant, we beseech You, that as we venerate
him as our protector on earth, we may deserve to have him as intercessor in Heaven.
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
Hail, most loving Hearts of Jesus and Mary! We venerate You. We love and honour You.
We give and consecrate ourselves to You forever. Receive us and possess us entirely.
Purify, enlighten, and sanctify us so that we may love You, Jesus, with the Heart of
Mary, and love you, Mary, with the heart of Jesus. O Heart of Jesus living in Mary and by
Mary! O Heart of Mary living in Jesus and for Jesus!
O Heart of Jesus pierced for our sins and giving us Your Mother on Calvary! O Heart of
Mary pierced by sorrow and sharing in the sufferings of Your divine Son for our
redemption! O sacred union of these Two Hearts! Praised be the God of Love Who
united Them together!
May He unite our hearts and every heart so that all hearts may live in unity in imitation of
that sacred unity which exists in these Two Hearts. Triumph, O Sorrowful and
Immaculate Heart of Mary! Reign, O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus! In our hearts, in our
homes and families, in the hearts of those who as yet know You not and in all the
nations of the world. Establish in the hearts of all mankind the sovereign triumph and
reign of Your Two Hearts so that the earth may resound from pole to pole with one cry:
O dearest Saint Joseph, I consecrate and give myself to you that you may always be my
father, protector and guide in the way of salvation. Obtain for me a greater purity of heart
and a fervent love of the interior life. After your example, may I do all my actions for the
greater glory of God in union with the Divine Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of
Mary.
O Blessed Saint Joseph, pray for me that I may share the peace and joy of your holy
death.
Amen.
Dear wonderful saint, model of fidelity to vows, you gladly carried a heavy cross
following in the steps of Christ who chose to be crucified for us. You realized that God
like a merciful Father chastises those whom He loves — which to worldings seems silly
indeed. Grant to N. relief from great pains if this is in line with God's plan.
Amen.
God, You raised up St. Teresa by Your Spirit so that she could manifest to the Church
the way to perfection. Nourish us with the food of heaven, and fire us with a desire for
holiness.
Amen.
Patroness of Religious
O Wonderful daughter of Spain, you taught us to walk the way of Christian perfection
which is the Way of the Cross. You inspired innumerable men and women by your
writings as well as your conduct, deserving the title of Doctor of the Church. Ever faithful
to St. Peter's successors, inspire fidelity to religious vows on the part of those who have
taken them and make them ever true to their vocation.
Amen.
O God, who by your Holy Spirit moved Teresa of Avila to manifest to your Church the
way of perfection: Grant us, we pray, to be nourished by her excellent teaching, and
enkindle within us a keen and unquenchable longing for true holiness; through Jesus
Christ, the joy of loving hearts, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one
God, for ever and ever.
Amen
Let Us Pray.
O God, Who didst replenish the heart of Thy blessed servant
St. Teresa with the treasures of Thy Divine love, grant that, like her,
we may love Thee and suffer all things for Thee and in union with Thee,
that we may gain souls for Thee, and that we may secure the salvation
of our own soul. This we beg through the merits of our Savior and the
intercession of Thy glorious virgin Teresa.
R. Amen.
Most loving protector, St. Anthony, what gift can I give you in exchange to show my
heartfelt gratitude? With your continued help I will show appreciation to you by being
more faithful to God, more constant in prayer, and readier to do good to those nearest
me. I praise you for the esteem in. which your name is held throughout the world, for the
miracles and wonders with which you have filled the Church and the world, and for the
many benefits men keep receiving through your gracious help.
May these intentions convey my great thanks to the triune God, Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit, and to our blessed Lady, Queen of heaven and earth.

Holy Trinity, and to our blessed Lady, Queen of Heaven.

Other Saints
O HOLY PATRONESS of those in need, St. Rita, whose pleadings before thy Divine
Lord are almost irresistible, who for thy lavishness in granting favors hast been called
the Advocate of the Hopeless and even of the Impossible; St. Rita, so humble, so pure,
so mortified, so patient and of such compassionate love for thy Crucified Jesus that thou
couldst obtain from Him whatsoever thou askest, on account of which all confidently
have recourse to thee, expecting, if not always relief, at least comfort; be propitious to
our petition, showing thy power with God on behalf of thy suppliant; be lavish to us, as
thou hast been in so many wonderful cases, for the greater glory of God, for the
spreading of thine own devotion, and for the consolation of those who trust in thee. We
promise, if our petition is granted, to glorify thee by making known thy favor, to bless and
sing thy praises forever. Relying then upon thy merits and power before the Sacred
Heart of Jesus, we pray thee grant that (here mention your request).
Let us Pray
O God, Who in Thine infinite tenderness hast vouchsafed to regard the prayer of Thy
servant, Blessed Rita, and dost grant to her supplication that which is impossible to
human foresight, skill and efforts, in reward for her compassionate love and firm reliance
on Thy promise, have pity on our adversary and succor us in our calamities, that the
unbeliever may know Thou art the recompense of the humble, the defense of the
helpless, and the strength of those who trust in Thee, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Amen.
O Jesus, who filled Blessed Faustina with profound veneration for Your boundless
Mercy,
deign, if it be Your Holy will, to grant me, through her intercession, the grace for which I
fervently pray...
My sins render me unworthy of Your Mercy, but be mindful of Sister Faustina’s spirit of
sacrifice and self-denial,
and reward her virtue by granting the petition which, with childlike trust, I present to You
through her intercession.

O glorious Saint Gerard, powerful intercessor before God, and wonder worker of our
day, I call upon you and seek your help. You who always fulfilled God's will on earth,
help me to do God's holy will. Intercede with the Giver of life, from whom all parenthood
proceeds, that I may conceive and raise children who will please God in this life, and be
heirs to the kingdom of heaven.
Amen.
O great Saint Gerard, beloved servant of Jesus Christ, perfect imitator of your meek and
humble Savior, and devoted child of Mother of God, enkindle within my heart one spark
of that heavenly fire of charity which glowed in your heart and made you an angel of
love.
O glorious Saint Gerard, because when falsely accused of crime, you did bear, like your
Divine Master, without murmur or complaint, the calumnies of wicked men, you have
been raised up by God as the patron and protector of expectant mothers.
Preserve me from danger and from the excessive pains accompanying childbirth, and
shield the child which I now carry, that it may see the light of day and receive the
purifying and life-giving waters of baptism through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer to Blessed Juan Diego
You who were chosen by Our Lady of Guadalupe as an instrument to show your people
and the world that the way of Christianity is one of love, compassion, understanding,
values, sacrifices, repentance of our sins, appreciation and respect for God's creation,
and most of all one of humility and obedience. You who we know is now in the Kingdom
of the Lord and close to our Mother, be our angel and protect us, stay with us as we
struggle in this modern life not knowing most of the time where to set our priorities. Help
us to pray to our God to obtain the gifts of the Holy Spirit and use them for the good of
humanity and the good of our Church, through the Heart of Our Lady of Guadalupe to
the Heart of Jesus.
Amen
Blessed Juan, you faced the skepticism and rejection of a bishop and the crowds to
bring Mary's message to Mexico . Pray for us that when we are faced with obstacles to
our faith we may show that same courage and commitment.
Amen
0 Saintly reformer,
animator of spiritual renewal of priests and religious,
you organized true seminaries and wrote a standard catechism.
Inspire all religious teachers and authors of catechetical books.
Move them to love and transmit only that which can form true
followers of the Teacher who was divine.
Amen.
Great model for God-loving boys and cherished pupil of the famous Don Bosco, you died
prematurely, humanly speaking, but you had already attained mature spiritual wisdom.
Your kindness won you many friends, but your love above all sought the Master who is
present in our tabernacles. His praises you eucharistically sang. Make choir boys be
singers like you, for the love of Jesus, our most loving Master.
Amen.
St. Catherine,
Most blessed and favored patron saint,
Thou who sought the truth with perseverance,
loved the truth in humility,
taught the truth in charity,
and defended the truth with courage,
pray for us.
Obtain for us the grace to persevere in truth,
to be a light in the darkness of the times in which we live,
and to convey to others,
both in our written words and in our actions,
the responsibility, wisdom, and knowledge
to proclaim the truths of our holy Faith
as proclaimed by the Church.
O holy virgin and bride of Christ,
whose letters inspired, guided, and led the Church
to renewal and transformation,
obtain too for us the grace to live the truth,
the patience to endure the trials and hardships,
to carry our Cross in the spirit of prayer and self denial,
and to defend the Church in its hour of crucifixion.
We ask these in Christ's name,
Amen.
Prayer to Saint John Bosco
Ant: Pius, admirable Shepherd, ever mindful of thy sheep, before the highest Judge do
thou intercede for all believers.
Let us pray:
O God, who in order to crush them that hate Thy Church and to restore Thy solemn
worship, didst vouchsafe to choose Blessed Pius to be Thy great High Priest; grant us to
be secure under his protection and so to continue in Thy service, that, having overcome
all the wiles of our adversaries, we may enjoy a perpetual peace. Through Christ our
Lord. Amen.
Through his intercession, may we be healed of all illnesses of mind, body, soul and
heart. And may we all labor tirelessly for the care and conversion of sinners, especially
the poor, the sick, the homeless and the mentally disturbed.
Saint John of God, I honor you as the Patron of the Sick, especially of those who are
afflicted by heart disease. I choose you to be my patron and protector in my present
illness. To you I entrust my soul, my body, all my spiritual and temporal interests, as well
as those of the sick throughout the world. To you I consecrate my mind, that in all things
it may be enlightened by faith above all in accepting my cross as a blessing from God;
my heart, that you may keep it pure and fill it with the love for Jesus and Mary that
burned in yours; my will, that like yours, it may always be one with the Will of God.
Good Saint John, I honor you as the model of penitents, for you received the grace to
give up a sinful life and to atone for your sins by untiring labors in behalf of the poor and
sick. Obtain for me the grace from God to be truly sorry for my sins, to make atonement
for them and never again offend God. Aid me in mastering my evil inclinations and
temptations, and in avoiding all occasions of sin. Through your intercession may I obtain
the grace from Jesus and Mary to fulfill faithfully all the duties of my state of life and to
practice those virtues which are needful for my salvation. Help me to belong to God and
Our Lady in life and in death through perfect love. May my life, like yours, be spent in the
untiring service of God and my neighbor.
Since Holy Mother Church also invokes you in her prayers for the dying, I beg you to be
with me in my last hour and pray for me. As you died kneeling before a crucifix, may I
find strength, consolation and salvation in the cross of my Redeemer, and through His
tender mercy and the prayers of Our Lady, and through your intercession, attain to
eternal life.
Amen.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us.
Let Us Pray.
O God, you enabled Saint John of God, who was inflamed with love of You, to walk
unhurt through flames, and by him You enriched Your Church with a new religious
Order. Grant through the help of his merits, that our vices may be healed by the fire of
Your love, and that we may receive remedies which will help us reach eternal life.
Through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
Holy Trinity,
we thank You for having given to the Church
Pope John Paul II,
and for having made him shine with your fatherly tenderness,
the glory of the Cross of Christ and the splendor of the Spirit of love.
