I am so pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Sarah Grimshaw. I have gotten to know Sarah well as a student at
Glencoe High School.

Ms. Grimshaw is an exceptional young woman who has a strong commitment to her studies and extra-curricular activities.
She has maintained 3.88 GPA while taking challenging classes, and being involved in service clubs. Sarah is a focused, naturally
curious, and determined young woman who will go above and beyond in the pursuit of her education. She has put in extra
time to improve her academic skills, and will match the work ethic of any peer.

Ms. Grimshaw impresses me most with her character and work ethic both in and out of the classroom. Sarah is a
hardworking, thoughtful, considerate, responsible, and disciplined young woman. She has demonstrated these characteristics
through her dedication to service with people with disabilities, both youth and adults. Here at Glencoe Sarah is leader of the
Buddy Club, a group of high schools students who work to serve students with disabilities. Outside of school, Sarah has
worked with Everybody Athletics, leading exercise classes for adults with disabilities. Sarah is passionate about this work and
sees every person as valuable and deserving of respect. Sarah exhibits a tremendous amount of patience and kindness, which
are core characteristics of Sarah’s character. Sarah is someone I, as a teacher, can count on to always be positive and provide
leadership in the classroom.

She is an example to others of what it means to be a good student and have good habits. Not only is she willing to help
others, Sarah is also capable of asking and receiving help, all with a constructive attitude. She has proven repeatedly to meet
challenges head on. In US History her junior year, she did not perform as well as she hoped on an exam. Rather than
complain, Sarah reached out to ask for feedback and guidance for how she could improve. She then checked in to ensure she
was on the right track, from there showing great independence in meeting her self-set goals for the course.

Sarah’s level of devotion and interest in learning have set her apart as a student. She is an incredible student and young
woman and will be an excellent addition to any school. I highly recommend her for admissions and scholarship consideration,
as any investment in Sarah will pay dividends in the community for years to come. You will find that she will not only meet,
but also exceed, any expectations you may have for her.
