the nation on World Youth Skills Day – 15th July 2015. National
Skill Mission commissioned & launched by the Prime Minister
Centurion University is the only reference point in the State of
Odisha in NITI Aayog report:“State Forward: Best Practices
from our States” released by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 29
Sept 2016,
Centurion University cited as the case in reference in August,
2016 British Council report: “Social Enterprise: A Global
Outlook” in the Going Global Conference at Cape Town. The
report is the output of 2-years primary research with a sample
size of 200+ Universities across the world. The report starts
with Centurion University.
Centurion University cited by name as a model for the world in
the General Assembly of UN debate on Right to Education.
Never in the UN, had any institute been discussed by name: the
rarest of rarities.

Greetings from Centurion University, the World of Hopes and
Possibilities!
With the vision of building India into a Skill
capital, we are training each student to think out of circle and out
of square, apply their thoughts to innovate by logical and practical
action, and to lead by example: in a nut shell-be a Centurion.
Centurion University has won national and international acclaim
with its unique interplay of skill-linked education through hands-
on knowledge, experience-based learning, and practice-oriented
pedagogy in an inclusive, integrated and aspirational eco-system.
On 28th of January, for the first time in Indian
Parliamentary democracy, a group of 25 members of the
Parliament headed by the Hon’ble Minister for Skill Development
& Entrepreneurship and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Rajiv Pratap
Rudy, visited to understand the model and debate on the Policy to
integrate skill into higher education. Never before has such a
delegation ever visited any educational institution for learning and
policy making. The Hon’ble Minister wrote, “I have been struggling
over a year to understand what is ‘skills’ – how to get skills
integrated. (With the) Visit to Centurion University – possibly I
have an answer.”

Welcome to the world of transformation through experiential
learning and innovation.
Centurion University is founded on the
vision of equipping India with an optimum mix of hands-on
and thinking skills across industry segments. In a massive
transformation to introduce innovation and craftsmanship in
engineering & science, agriculture, and management,
Centurion University integrates class-room oriented pedagogy
with apprenticeship-oriented domain expertise.
Rarest of rarities is when any University is
discussed by name. In the General Assembly of United Nations
debate on Right to Education, as a model for the world, the UN
cited Centurion University by name. In its report on
“Governance for Quality in Higher Education in Odisha, India”,
the World Bank has cited only Centurion University in the
Chapter as a model to reckon with on Quality as Relevance.
The UNESCO, in its official publication, has cited Centurion
University model as a case study.

In August 2016 at Cape Town in the ‘Going
Global Conference’, the British Council, as the output of 2-
years primary research with a sample size of 200+ Universities
across the world, published a report titled, “Social Enterprise:
A Global Outlook”. It’s a matter of pride for us that the report
starts with Centurion University as the case in reference.
Subsequently, our pride had an encore when in another report
in contextual specificity in Eastern India, besides two other
universities- IIM Calcutta and Xavier, the British Council singled
out Centurion University. These encomia not only highlight
results of our diligent and sustained efforts to differentiate
ourselves as a hands-on and skill-focused University but
demonstrate though our students be but young, they are
proficient.
