HYPERTENSION AND HOMEOPATHY 2

HYPERTENSION AND HOMEOPATHY

Homeopathy for hypertension treatment shows a lot of benefits in order to

reduce symptoms and improve patient’s life quality

A randomized controlled trial was made by Subhranil (2013), comparing 233

patients divided into two groups, the reduction of systolic blood pressure (PAS), its

average was 26,6 mmHg (IC 95% 21.5 31.7) for homeopathy group and PAS

increased 3,6 mmHg (IC 95% 8.7 1.5) for the control group who got placebo as

remedy. The average showed a significant difference between both groups (P=

0,0001).

Moreover, another experimental and prospective trial made by Domínguez

(2016), where 264 were compared in two groups, the first one called group A got

treatment with Viscum album 30CH dosed 5 drops under their tongues each 5

minutes for 4 times and the second one, the group B received captopril 25 mg as

single dose. The 81,82% of the whole patients reported a remarkable improvement,

but there was not statistic evidence which would be significantly between both

groups (P= 0,7426). Average time for decreasing blood pressure was different for

each group, A and B with 37,50 and 54,16 respectively (P= 0,024).

Furthermore, in a pilot study made by Duryani (2016), 70 patients were

assigned randomly in homeopathic verum treatment group and 80 patients randomly

too for the placebo group. Difference in respect to symptomatic development was

higher for the homeopathic group (P= 0,001)

Poruthukare (2014), made a pilot study in order to evaluate Viscum album’s

efficacy for hypertension and its complications, the outcomes demonstrated a good

decreasing of blood pressure before and after the treatment, getting a modification of

systolic and diastolic pressure (P<0,001 and P= 0,017) respectively.

Comparing trials and studies cited previously, treatment with individualized

homeopathy might has benefits effects for patients who suffer from essential

hypertension. It can be adopted as alternative public health focusing to stop

hypertension’s increasing prevalence.
