Applications are invited for the post of PhD student @ 25,000/- per month in the HEC funded Project No. 6367
titled “Molecular characterization of rice root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne graminicola) in rice-wheat cropping
system in central Punjab for its management”. The appointment will be purely on contract basis. Applicants are
required to be enrolled in PhD in plant pathology with no 3rd division. Applications on prescribed form (available

PhD THESIS/SYNOPSIS DEFENCE
1. Mr. Hafiz Naveed Ramzan, Regd. No. 2002-ag-1681, a PhD student, Department of Agronomy, will defend
his PhD synopsis on 26-12-2019 at 03:00 pm in the Department of Agronomy, UAF. The title of his synopsis
is “Forage and ensilage performance of sorghum sudangrass (Sorghum bicolor x Sorghum sudanense)
under various sowing times and ensiling options”.
2. Miss Rabia Saif, Regd. No. 2012-ag-3251, PhD student of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics
will defend her PhD synopsis in the Postgraduate Laboratory on 19-12-2019 at 10:00 am. The title of her
synopsis is “Screening of early maturity and genetic analysis for yield and quality related traits of sunflower
Helianthus annuus L.”. All the teachers and students concerned are requested to attend and contribute
towards the improvement of the synopsis.
3. Mr. Ali Ahmad, Regd. No. 2011-ag-2643, a PhD student, Department of Agronomy, will defend his PhD
synopsis on 11-12-2019 (Wednesday) at 03:30 pm in the Department of Agronomy, UAF. The title of his
synopsis is “Microbial biomass, nutrients availability, growth, yield and quality of wheat (Triticum aestivum
L.) in vermicompost amended soil under drought conditions”.
4. Mr. Shujaat Hussain, Regd. No. 97-ag-1606, PhD student, Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery will
defend his synopsis entitled “Sero-epidemiological and molecular investigation of coxiellosis (Q fever) in
camels in selected districts of Punjab, Pakistan” on 19-12-2019 at 01:30 pm in the Museum of Faculty of
Veterinary Science. All faculty members and their postgraduate students are cordially invited to participate
in the seminar for their valuable suggestions.
5. Mr. Muhammad Kashif, Regd. No. 2014-ag-8621, student of PhD Chemistry, Department of Chemistry will
re-defend his synopsis titled “Applications of Silver Nanoparticles as Substrates for Surface Enhanced
Raman Spectroscopy” on 19-12-2019 at 11:30 am in the Lecture Room-III.
6. Synopsis re-defense of Ms. Rashida Humma, Regd. No. 2011-ag-1187, a student of PhD Biochemistry, will
be held on 11-12-2019 at 11:00 am in Biochemistry Lecture Room-1. The title of her synopsis is “Cloning
and expression of cyclotide gene from Indigenous plant species of violaceae”.
7. Ms. Sobia Kanwal, Regd. No. 2013-ag-584, PhD student, Department of Zoology, Wildlife & Fisheries, will
deliver a seminar in defense of her PhD thesis entitled “Impact of water Pollution on the existence of soil
macro-fauna among cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var, bortrytis) and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)
fields” on 13-12-2019 at 09:00 am in DLC-2. The members of the supervisory committee are requested to
make it convenient to attend and evaluate. All interested are cordially invited.
8. Miss Bushra Akhtar, Regd. No. 2015-ag-3626, PhD student of Institute of Pharmacy, Physiology &
Pharmacology, has successfully defended her PhD thesis at University level in Distance Learning Centre-2

(DLC-2) Faculty of Agriculture on 04-12-2019 at 11:00 am. The title of her PhD thesis is “Formulation,
characterization and pharmacokinetics of nanoparticle based gentamicin preparations”.
9. Miss Tahira Ahmed, Regd. No. 2011-ag-1018, PhD scholar Department of Physics has successfully
defended her revised synopsis titled “Spectroscopic studies to explore the potential of gold nanoparticles-
DNA interaction for cancer diagnosis” on 06-12-2019 as required under the rules.
10.Aqsa Mushtaq, Regd. No. 2012-ag-765, PhD Pharmacology candidate at Institute of Pharmacy, Physiology
and Pharmacology, UAF has successfully defended the changes proposed in the title and methodology of
the previously approved PhD synopsis on 02-12-2019. Revised PhD synopsis title is “Phytochemical
characterization of Nigella sativa and mechanism of hepatoprotection in concanavalin A-induced acute liver
injury”.
11.Zulfia Hussain, Regd. No. 2014-ag-1757, PhD Pharmacology candidate at Institute of Pharmacy,
Physiology Pharmacology, UAF has successfully defended the changes proposed in the title and
methodology of the previously approved PhD synopsis on 02-12-2019. Revised PhD synopsis title is
“Evaluation of nanoparticles- and phytochemicals-based therapeutic strategies in distinct models of liver
injury”.
12.Sehrish Murtaza, Regd. No. 2012-ag-762, PhD Pharmacology candidate at Institute of Pharmacy,
Physiology and Pharmacology, UAF has successfully defended the changes proposed in the title and
methodology of the previously approved PhD synopsis on 02-12-2019. Revised PhD synopsis title is
“Molecular determinants and therapeutic investigation of induced liver injury”.

ONE REGULAR PROJECT DIRECTOR (BPS-19) IN THE ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT
(PROJECTS)
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University with at least seven years'
practical experience. OR Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University with at least twelve
years' practical experience.
TEN (10) REGULAR RESEARCH ASSISTANT (BPS-16)
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree at least in 2nd Division OR B.Sc. (Hons.).
MINIMUM/MAXIMUM AGE LIMIT: 18-35 years.
ONE REGULAR GAME INSTRUCTOR (BPS-11)
QUALIFICATIONS: Intermediate (second division) from a recognized Board having three years' experience in
the relevant field and diploma in physical education from recognized institution.

(Preference will be given to a sportsman of National caliber)
MINIMUM/MAXIMUM AGE LIMIT: 18-35 years.
Note: Due to flexibility in courses the selected faculty members can be assigned teaching courses in other
departments in addition to their teaching and research assignment in the department where they originally
selected.

indicated below against each
post drawn in favour of the
Treasurer, University of
Agriculture, Faisalabad:-
i. Professor = Rs.3000/-
ii. Associate Professor =
Rs.2500/-
iii. Assistant Professor/Senior
Research Officer = Rs.2000/-
iv. Lecturer = Rs.1500/-
v. Director/Project Director =
Rs.1000/-
vi. Research Assistant/Game
Instructor = Rs.500/-
2. Persons already employed in
any Government or other
organizations should submit their applications through proper channel. Advance copies may, however, be sent to
save time. The requisite No Objection Certificate from present employer must reach in the Office of the Registrar
(Personnel/Establishment Section) before or on the last date for receipt of applications or on the date of
interview, failing which such candidates will not be allowed to appear for interview.
3. All Government Employees who intend to apply for any post through proper channel shall clarify through the
Heads of their Attached Departments that there is no pending enquiry/out-standing dues against them. Moreover,
there are no adverse remarks in any of their Annual Confidential Reports. These conditions are necessary for
grant of Departmental Permission Certificate/No Objection Certificate (N.O.C.). The A.C.Rs grading for the last
five years may also be recorded in the forwarding letter.

4. The existing University employees studying abroad will be considered in absentia. The candidates who are living
abroad and unable to appear before the Selection Board, their interviews will be conducted by the Selection
Board through Video Conferencing/SKYPE.
5. Three percent (3%) quota is reserved for disabled persons, 5% quota for Minorities (Non-Muslims) and 15%
quota for women. Applicant must identify the quota in his/her application, if he/she is eligible for quota. Shemales
can apply, if eligible for the post applied for.
6. The University reserves the right:
i. not to fill any vacancy without assigning any reason thereof or consider a person for appointment in a lower
cadre against the posts advertised. ii. to short list the candidates where required on the basis of academic
qualifications/test as may be prescribed by the University. iii. to increase or decrease the number of
vacancies as per availability of funds.
7. The competent authority of the University decided that if a candidate appears before the Selection Board twice
on different occasions for the same post and remained unsuccessful, he/she may not be called for an interview
for the same post subsequently. This shall be applicable for the posts of Lecturer/Assistant Professor.
8. Incomplete applications or those received after the due date will not be entertained. The applications for the posts
of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Senior Research Officer, Lecturer, Director
(P&D), Director (I.T), Director (FA&UA) and Project Director (ECD), should reach in the Office of the
Registrar (Personnel Section) and Research Assistant & Game Instructor in the Establishment Section by
31.12.2019 during office hours.
